Most Southeast Asia countries has tons of motorcycles and scooters since they are cheaper than a car and can bypass traffic jams. OK well basically most Asia countries has a lot of motorcycle users

Cool to see you riding in Sai gon, we also rent a scooters and ride through the city. Its crazy traffic there, surprised you wear a gear like that, I would die in that jacket.
I know it sounds daft but in my experience of riding in Vietnam, it helps to have a beer before hitting the road, it just takes the edge off riding within their clusterf*** traffic.

I learnt to ride a geared motorbike in Sai Gon (a shitty ancient Chinese replica Win). Rode it to Quy Nhon, via Phan Thiet, Da Lat and Nha Trang. Rainy season was the wrong time to attempt a motorbike road trip, I got scared and gave up when it rained for 4 days straight in Quy Nhon, all the roads flooded. Riding up and down mountains around Da Lat was one of the best experiences of my life though, loved riding a bike so much I had to buy one when I came back to the UK. I love your country.

Amazing.. you can drive like you want, security seems to not be a part of UK (or other country's) politics... Here in Switzerland its the opposite, driving a bike here is not fun at all. One litle mistake (like overpassing on the right side), and you got fined for minimum 500 Swiss Francs (approx 500 Euros). If you get caught a second time, it raises.. But on the other hand, not beeing a biker is quit comfortable. Unfortunately I'm a biker :)
