Glad drivers ok. Contractor would have received a nice 4 1/2 inch slump. Loved driving mixer for 39 year and 9 months. Pops beat me by 3 months. But when my buddy Carl RIP passed away 4 months before we were both going to retire together, well I had enough. It was time. Feel bad for this driver but my feeling is maybe time to change occupation. Driving mixer ain't for just anyone. Seen death of good friends on roll overs with guys that were known to be good drivers. Takes total concentration at all times and don't let no one rush you, company, contractors, no one!!!
thank u, sir.. Been doin this mixer job for one year, and I still learn things about this job often... Thanks for sharin some wisdom.. Ur right, it aint for everyone. And it does take several skills to be good at it TY
Hopefully driver is ok, wonder if there was a chunck of dry cement in the drum, from the drum over time of not properly clean, and or drive going to fast on a get on ramp or curve.
All the concrete moves to the left side of the drum when it's in the forward or charge rotation, that's why right hand turns in America are dangerous for these trucks, I have been a mixer driver for 27 years. What's strange is everything is opposite like in Australia, even the drum rotation.
Thanks brother, I never really thought about that. Just started doin this mixer job a year ago, and no one ever told me that.. and makes sense. thanks (the concrete movin towards the left while charging.. I never thought abt right turns like that) I have an older Kenworth 8 speed, geared low.. lotsa power.. This aint no game, for sure
Drove mixer 30 yrs two things can make this happen taking corner to fast and having your drum ( barrel) turning to fast while taking corner whipping that concrete to one side!
has physics ever lost? the drum also turns to ur right when on the road so, concrete moves more to ur left- especially, on right hand turns, as u indicated He was turning too fast. Ur right.. But why? That part isn't explained
Another classic example of you can't fix stupid or possibly I shouldn't be driving to young for CDL vehicle person, either way it's obvious that driver is just a wheel holder not a truck driver
Don't think I've seen a more stupid thing around a crashed heavy equipment,Bloke smoking around fuel spill.. No, He's a professional Rescue squad member.
What a waste of money and man power. I could have gotten that truck upright with 2 skid steers and a few hand trucks.. Would have done it for $500 straight cash..
Shithouse operations, but they got the job done. You would think that basic safety gear would be stashed on the trucks for the operators, I guess boss man spent too much money on million dollar rotator & had nothing left for safety equipment. No excuses on this stuff. I agree that a Hardhat & HI-VIS Safety Vest should be mandatory safety gear these workers. Oh well, I'm surprised the DOT Cop didn't shut them down & send them home.
Hard hats are not a requirement here yet and I wear hi vis on interstate with higher speeds and traffic. On city roads we normally have plenty of blocking from police cruisers or fire trucks. In this situation, the road was completely shut down. Thank you for the concern and I might start wearing a climber helmet in certain situations even if there is no overhead hazards.
@@toomanyhobbiesandinterests6608 Don't mind my arm chair quarterbacking. I just consider this stuff the basic safety gear of a well groomed tow operation. I seen a lot of recoveries out there where the tow operator shows up in shorts, a t-shirt, & flip flops, but they some how manage to complete the mission. I suppose that's what counts, getting the mess cleaned up.

Good job getting it uprighted.

Play "Spot the Driver"! I've got my vote in.

@@vaekkriinhart4347you still driving mixer have a question do you upshift at 1300 rpm and 900 on downshift
Was the guy hurt
Nice job!
Pretty smooth
Hopefully the driv,ah was okay? Great recovery guys BEAUTIFUL rigs
IKR hope he had the rest of the day off
Those are some nice looking tow truck, with double axles in front, glad the driver made it out alive.
Was the concrete late for delivery
yes. It was reported that the load was late by 40 minutes only bc the jobsite was nearby
Ron pratt midwest towing have that back on it wheels while these fellows muck around .or summter towing
Ron would be screaming at everybody for not having his way. Everybody has their own rhythm sit down and enjoy the show.
@@artyart31 right on
Great looking tators and excellent camera work

thanks for explaining that. No one really ever told me that. I'm still new at it (1 year).. TY
Laws of physics here. Concrete mix is fluid and will shift to the opposite side on a turn. Physics won here.

Taking corners to fast
NEVER GiVE UP
Concrete probably dried up in the drum
well, no shit?

What a mess... Never understood what good those puny little tag axles did. I think that truck will be a total loss. Hope he had insurance...
It's a called a tag axle to hold the front axle on the ground because of the extra weight of the ready mix concrete.
It creates a larger footprint to spread the weight out more for bridge laws.
um, those back axles do a lot.. Try drivin with 9 yards in ur drum without them lmao U'd be prayin for them
The shame of it is, the texting driver who caused this is down the road without a care in the world.
bullshit. It's the exact opposite. what planet u live on?
Wanted to sell slightly smaller then normal cement truck. compression of size due to to much work :)
He delivered only a short load. The city should get a refund.
SHAME ON THE MESS
Don't think I've seen a more stupid thing around a crashed heavy equipment,Bloke smoking around fuel spill.. No, He's a professional Rescue squad member.
There is going to be a new jump there in that lane if they don't get that spilled concrete cleaned up before it dries.
u got 5 thumbs up from dumb ppl. Watch the vid! It's cleaned up with skid steer.. Hope ur not on my crew
There's a lot of healthy folks on this scene. Yeeesh!
"healthy" ? lmao
welcome to America. "Land of the Beast, and the home of the Slave"
that driver should take the rest of the day off

Crushed his ego & the truck
😮 omg write off
BIG FAT BELLIE GUY SITTING IN THE BOB CAT you can see who the workers are

The tow truck operaters and thier slaves should have HI-VIS and hard hats
