- I was finally able to get some more time in the P-38L. Moe and I found ourselves out numbered. With a few risk, the playing field was quickly leveled.

Ah, the P-38. Japanese pilots hated that thing, just because the big empty space in the middle made shooting them annoying.
That was one hell of a fight.. Although ... the pièce de résistance was Bo doing a Lightning pancake caused by what looked like squirrels.

i was watching this video on my laptop and flying low in a stuka in warthunder on my desktop and as the video was coming to an end i moved my laptop mouse to click another video but it wasn't my laptop mouse and yea gw bush didnt just do 9/11 he crashed a stuka into a small forest....... many squirrels were lost today

there is a variant of p38 that U.S. use to test wings called p38 swordfish, used to test laminar flow of wings, you should look it up Bo
That head-on on the Me 410 at 7:50 is absolute BS. The Me 410's (A+B) had 75mm of armoured windscreen, but in game? Nope, for balance reasons. Fuck Gaijiggles for BS like that.

P-38 Doesn't have dive brakes. The term is Dive Recovery flaps. The P-38 had a terminal illness where it would suffer from compression in a dive.

That is why American teams almost always lose. Most of the players goes for the easiest target i.e. the bombers and attackers. Meanwhile the enemy fighters are tearing every one to pieces.
They don't climb and they don't stick together.

+johnathan larden Quite a bit. I posted a 2 part podcast on the P-38 if you care to know more. Short answer, coolers, performance, boosted ailerons, gun camera placement, dive recovery flaps, heaters, electric, warning radar, windshield, etc.
+johnathan larden Also the G was designed in one night after the army reject a jet design that was pretty much the P-80 but 20 years earlier. The L was the improvements on what was a rushed aircraft design (the G).

Brent Miller seriously look into Lockhead-Martin's development at the time. They even had a working turbine jet engine prototype that still works. But it was the 30s.

Better Rate of Climb, better rate of turn especially with flaps(it can hang with an A6M5 in a sustained turn at low speed with proper flap usage), better rate of roll especially at high speeds, comparable to a Fw 190D 13, turbocharged just like the Jug so it's just as good at high altitude, much better acceleration at low speed.
The only downsides are slightly lower top speed and worse dive limit - oh it also has dive brakes btw - as well as being very unsafe for head on attacks due to the leading edge fuel tanks... oh... I think I just figured out why you think it's bad and the Jug isn't....

MorteDeAnge1is The engine itself is of no consequence to altitude performance, only the supercharger/turbosupercharger is. And both the P-47 and the P-38J and L have turbosuperchargers. The P-38L reaches it's rated top speed at 8500 meters. That should tell you something.
see ppl don't know how to play the p 47 if that was a good p 47 pilot wouldn't of even been a fight we would of sped up pulled hard turn and energy fought the p 51 and killed moe then came back and caught the p 38 like he did but didn't miss
