- Remembering a great pop star of the 60''s. Recorded from TV in 1983 on VHS...tape, remember??? LOL
Sadly, Billy suffered heart problems for many years and died young. This was recorded days before he died, at his own request. (1940 - 1983 RIP. The good die young. - Розваги
I loved Billy...fantastic singer and what a sexy man even towards the end..Died far to soon xx

Amazing performance just days before his death..... R.I.P Billy
A wonderful performance right up to the end, he was just iconic and so special.
Billy still sounding great despite his illness! RIP Billy!
And Jealousy one of the greatest songs ever written, maybe his best record.
Sadly he passed away leaving the world lost with out his great voice
There was something VERY special about Billy Fury ~~ it set him apart and above the other "rock stars" of the day.
Dearly remembered well into the 21st century.
Great performance..he certainly could sing!!
Along with the greats of his time, Billy Fury still holds best, we loved you and still do xx
Billy was Britain's best his music will live on R.I.P.
Just two words describe Billy and they are "A Legend"
I LOVE YOU BILLY .....YOUR THE GREATEST........LINDA

Brilliant songs....missed. R. I. P.
Billy fury always and for ever we'll never ever find another you bless you billy xx
I was an avid Billy Fury fan when I was a very young teenager, I went to see him at The Tooting Granada, and I was absolutely certain he looked at me, oh yes ... out of all the hundreds of people in the audience ... he looked at ME .... big LOL !!!
Such a shame he had to die so young. RIP Billy
You can't beat him.
This is the first time I have seen this, and it wont be the last. Billy had a lovely voice and his music will live on.
just discovered billy .he had a nice voice and he was nice looking
What a great artist Billy Fury was ... I play the Violin ... / Fiddle and often play some of Billys Songs that are so timeless Such as Halfway to Paradise and Jealousy
I remember my sister, since also passed away, playing these on 45" vinyl ... And Jukeboxes would run hot with these sounds, over a Coffee or a Coke, in our local Café at the time
Even though he was so close to death he could still deliver a song-What a great man-I thought he was better than Elvis.Still missed.
Billy Fury was one of the best never for gotten& never will
I remember being there at Cinatra's in Croydon that Tuesday night this was recorded and chatting to him in his dressing room afterwards. I couldn't believe it when I heard the news on the Friday that he died. R.I.P. Billy Fury.
what a voice always bought tears to my eyes sadly missed by all his fans susan
Love you billy, I'm jealous of the angels you are now singing to. devoted to you
Billy / Ronald Wycherley was a cousin of mine. Sadly I never got to meet him. Wish I could sing like him!
The 60's will never repeat itself, thanks to Radio Caroline and the other pirate ships we heard great bands and singers. Thank you to all the 60's groups and singers, so glad I lived through the times.
I remember the 60's too with Radio Caroline, Radio Nord Sea and Radio Monica and Billy Fury performing at the Poco a Poco Cabaret Stockport and other venues around Manchester and beyond. Lovely memories, lovely times and like you said Michael 'never will repeated ever' We have been fortunate to have lived through a wonderful time of music, cultural change, romance and happiness something that our lovely young of today will never know. Take care happy memories.
wish i lived through the times
Went to see billy in plymouth 1960 I was 10 years old but he was cancelled as in hospital but have loved him for nearly 65 years. Still play his music most days
Beautiful guy will never forget him. Ag originally from cornwall uk
one of the greats this country are proud of Billy fury a great entertainer just a shame i wasnt older enough to have the chance to see him live.RiP never forgot
Brings back memories. Live in Canada now, but grew up in UK during 50/60s. I have a Wycherley ancestor tree, but we believe that it is a different tree than the Wycherley tree that Billy Fury was part of. RIP Billy, thanks for the memories.
my hubby was to young to go, he's in paradise now I will join him and we will both listen toi billy
SORRY to hear that K
A wonderful artist that was so influential to the British rock 'n' roll movement of the early 1960's. I grew up with his records! Billy played his last gig just a few miles from my then home. I wanted to go to the gig but for several reasons I didn't make it. Big mistake!
I often think about how important it was and how it would have meant to me.
i saw him in Halifax just before he died i was only 15 at the time he was fantastic
Loved you so much and miss you what a guy.
A once-upon a dream Fury, way too cool to have been a Decca teen-idol, the only UK rock-ballad singer in the 60's too suave-jive his way to heartthrob notoriety. Elvis' twin would have achieved far more if not for his blasted illness, yet thanks to Marty Wild, kept Fury's stage-act legacy at the very top of the real class act charts!
I have to plead ignorance as to who Billy Fury was.
All I can say is WOW, what a great singer he was!
I have heard Halfway To Paradise a long time ago. Great song.
Billy's version of It's Only Make Believe is OUTSTANDING.
Just goes to show that us yankees don't pay enough attention to great Brit entertainers.
i was ten years of age when I fell in love with billyfuryy, and still love him now,I hope we meet when I go to the next life. he's on my list, you were the best xxx
im 20 and I love billy I name me kid after him. looks at him wiv hearts in me eyes. fanx to me gpa albert xxxxxx
Maggie Jenkins surprendre Elvis presle
Loved this guy
fantasic someone never forget for his music and history nice video
Wish I had been a teen in the 60s sad but great music
A great singer and beautiful songs......RIP
poor guy i love his music, amazing man
There never be another Billy or James Dean
Billy's singing was as amazing as ever. I am so sad I never got to see him - I had tickets to see his show on that last tour.
On a lighter note, there are some shocking syrups at that funeral! Larry Parnes is wearing an afro!
Billy Fury most definitely had the 'X' factor
great songs...remembered, missed...
I love this video of Billy Fury he never really got recognition he deserved thank you for sharing
Denise Cahoon - His songs were rather ordinary though, at least later on like this tripe. You can't expect to shoot off a rocket using wet hay.
+Georgie Thumbs You are soooo wrong. His songs were brilliant, loads of them self written and his diction was perfect. You can hear every syllable. how dare you. Most of the time he was so sick he shouldn't even have been standing up!
so true
lin bish well said! x
just love it but before my time x
Julie Edwards it was very much my time, and loved and admired him and his music intensely , everything he did. It’s so nice to read a comment from someone appreciating him who was born later 💖
beautiful singer
Jim Reeves
the best
a greatly under rated talent, but not by those who knew, he was the uk,s best early rocker, strangely nearly all his big hits were ballads
Genuine Talent! A Great performer to the end.
Brilliant singer Billy Fury died far to young
He died a few month after this appearance :(
He died 4 days after this. This was recorded on 23rd January 1983.
Diane Murray Oh god how awful. love him still i didnt know that thank you.
a star to the end
Anne Moylan i
Absolutely fabulous
Great, considering how ill he was at this point. I think the beat ballads were commercial choices to record, but they were so good. RIP Billy. ML
Knew Billy when he had milky way as is backing group god bless him and Pete brown bass guitarist xx❤🎉xx
Time travel comes to mind. I always had a gist of the future, as in precognition, and wondered if retro cognition could be possible. Thanks to Billy Fury's video I now have a glint of understanding. Precognition (a look into the future) is just a memory of things that have not happened yet, as with retro cognition which is a memory of the past which has happened.
Well said, jamiespilsbury. I admired this gentle rock'nroller who I proudly imitated as a teenager, He did Elvis "his way", and still had his own identity. He "played it cool " baby...lol
The REAL British answer to Elvis...
ONE WORD GREAT...........THANK YOU FOR THIS
beautiful
I still have my original 45 of Billy singing A Thousand Stars but don't know what happened to the others. I saw him and Johny Kidd etc at Guildford in the 60's
Very sad when he died so young.
A great voice sadly missed
I was amazed that his heart condition didn't prevent him doing a good live rendition of these hits. Better than Elvis??? By Billy's own admission,Elvis is where he came from, as was the case for Cliff, The Beatles and most who those who mushroomed in the early sixtees. Yes, Billy Fury was good.
The one and only, the greatest x x
god bless you Billy Fury
Esta era uma das música que Elvis adorava ouvir !
Oh gosh I remember seeing this at the time.
Recorded when Billy was very ill, and just days before he passed away on 28th January 1983, yet still sounded great. He recorded six numbers, but at his mother's request only four were broadcast. RIP Billy Fury.
one of the songs taken out was....forget him
knew him and his Brother Albert used to sing in a band I used to drive around also I was at Marty Wilds Mums house on Prerscot Road when his daughter was born Kim
Legend
The Greatest Singer UK Produced during the RnR Era. Although I would call Billy a Great Ballad Singer not a RnR Singer. But he was nearest UK produced to Elvis. But of course Elvis was far above the Rest
can't,beat,the,60s,popstars,
Belle chanson!
Billy really looks poorly on this video but what a voice he had. He wrote so many of his own hits and was a great, not fully realised talent. I believe rheumatic fever when he was young had much to do with his later health issues.
Utter class.
brillant song
he cool
He looked so ill bless him
B R I L L I A N T.
Nice singer he died the same age as Elvis Presley.
My dads favourite film too, xx
Many people saying " he didn't get the recognition he deserved" are wrong, he was a major star and hitmaker from the late 50s through to the early 60s, he was a tv regular during this time and even starred in 2 films, he certainly got recognition.
He went bankrupt in the early 70s for paying no income tax since 1962 considering the huge record sales and other work he had from 59-65, I find it strange how he'd spent all his fortune, he even hooked up with an Heiress in the early 70s.
A lot of far less successful singers from this period retired and lived off of the millions they earned during their heyday and paid tax on as well
He was ripped off by his crook of a manager.
The real KING.....
Today may have given him a heart transplant , so sad and we are still grieving for you Billy xx
My thoughts exactly. Tragic loss
My Billy Fury Dance Show to be performed at the Shaw Theatre, London in April 2016 uses actual recordings accompanied by dancers and a narrator telling the Billy Fury Story. There will be 14 performances over 10 days with 4 matinee's. Although the recordings were made many years ago the songs are as relevant today as they were when they were first recorded. Britians GREATEST ...sadly died too young
Tragic. Without billy`s health problems, he could have topped elvis.
Paul Jones he never had a number 1 so doubt that but was very good.
The Professor,my friend look up Elvis in 1956 Just Pretend the look at Billy the same song same time TCB
Préciser quand même que les quatre chansons qu'interprète ici Billy Fury sont : « Halfway to paradise », « Make believe », « When will you say I love you » & « Jealousy ».
sang a thousand stars to my mother and got a signed pic from him
smithslinger I'm jealous haha :)
Billy Fury's hair look's too long so I remember that TV show on channel 4 since 1983 so it was his last performance before his death that same year.
+Thomas Kenny He died 4 days after recording this programme. R.I.P. xxxx
It was broadcast on 3rd feb 1983.
He's a brilliant singer and a good bloke he will always live on in my eyes 👍
does anybody know if this show was released on vhs or remastered to dvd in the uk many thanks
for any info from ---v ----billy fury collector -----great post cleret 1
this was recorded on the 24 th january he died on the 28 th january
There was a better version on you tube but it was taken off, WHY?
Sticking 2 ads on right in the middle of his funeral footage. What bad taste
Ah! But, did you see him in the film " Play it cool"?
