Asterisks when Blending and How to Avoid Them - Tableau in Two Minutes

  • In this video In this video we cover why asterisks appear in your Tableau workbooks while blending data. Basically, they're caused by having a one-to-many relationship across the two data sources, and because dimension fields from the blended data source have to be aggregated with the ATTR function, they will return an * if there is not a one to one relationship between fields. To avoid it, you have to manipulate the view to create the one to one relationship.

    I'm working on a project and I uploaded two CSV files both have the same column names but if I add churn then switch over to the other dataset and click the link icon it's still not giving me the total count of churn from both databases.

    Data blending is to blend data from diferent data sources, but here both sheets from the data source pane are from same data source ... how can we perform data blending here ...

      He has two sheets as two data sources from a single excel file allowing him to blend these sheets.
