    Not being a Jet is a good career move for quarterback s.

      Rodger’s is an already established Hall of Fame QB before joining the Jets.

    If you look at the data Sam's accuracy pre Pro Football Reference - was 75% in 2019, 72% in 2020, 74.5% in 2021 and 77% in 2022 and he didn't really play enough in 2023. So Sam hasn't really "fixed his accuracy" so much as steadily improved after some minor regressions, and finally landed with a HC and scheme that protects him enough, and gets players open, who actually catch the ball.
    For the record Sam was 77% accurate in 2022 when he went 4-2 with the Panthers. Kirk's accuracy was 76.5% that same season when he went 13-4 with a weaker, older and shallower Vikes roster and vastly inferior Defence and DC Donatell.
    So it's little surprise that with Sam's superior strength, pocket agility and rushing ability, that he is operating the Vikes offence at an even higher level than Cousins. It should only get better as he gets more familiar and instinctive and he gets 2 of his top 4 weapons back, AND the defence with 8-10 new players, gets more time on task together.
    This is a Vikes team still making mistakes on the way up, nowhere near it's peak. I don't think the league understands this yet.
    With the likely return of Addison, Pace and Turner this week, I wouldn't be surprised if they put just as big a beat down on the Packers this week.

    The irony is that Sam saw ghosts one day and forgot all about them, but every football analyst and so called expert is so stuck in the past that they only believe in ghosts. That's not analysis - that's an historical review that is already 4 years out of date. It is really helpful though if you want to predict the 2020 or 2021 SB.

    Even bringing up that Darnold played for the Jets through the total dysfunction of that era should cease. The Jets could have ruined any quarterback back then. The coaching Darnold received was disastrous. Darnold was okay for the equally dysfunctional Panthers organization. The last few years Darnold has basked in the glow of more than competent franchises in San Francisco and now Minnesota.

      In context, Sam's 8-9 record at the Panthers, almost all without CMC, is still pretty decent, against the 5-28 they managed without him.

    Still having a questionable play or two like the basketball hoop backward pass in SF game or last week Houston backward sideline pass which could have ended badly.

      The pass against Houston was a designed screen where his arm got hit as he threw. Not really much he could do.

      @robe2504 Місяць тому +1

      True, one or two minor mistakes, but not the ones you mentioned. Did you see the pass that Purdy lobbed straight to Jihad Ward? What about Stroud's two terrible INTs yesterday? Would they be questionable plays too? Doesn't every QB make 1 or 2 a game?
      Folks just put the expectation of a QB playing under duress on the Jets, on a QB playing relaxed ball in a Vikes system - that makes no sense at all...

      @@robe2504 Not talking about the INT and i don't care about Purdy or Stroud. Why do you even compare to? I'm a Vikings fan, not shy away from saying what I saw which a little concern in Sam decision making in those few throw. Clearly the arm talent is there. If it was pressure, hit, tipped pass, no problem. I'm not going to sugarcoat what I saw. Just hoping Sam will be more confident in time when we need most. What's wronf with that?
