I think Walker Hayes is the most underrated talent of the current time. Of course everyone is finally seeing him due to the Applebee's l song. However he's so much more than just that song. I hope people seek out his other music and are pleasently surprised. He's so talented and adorable. But what makes him so adorable is he is an amazing husband and daddy of six.

I love the story behind an Alabama boy going to Nashville and like so many, had ups and downs, and he never gave up and look what happened BOOM! “FANCY LIKE” put Walker on the top and changed his life, and his wife has stayed right by him through it all! I just divorced my best friend and husband of 10years.We are 32 and met in 6th grade.I was his ESL tutor in 1998.
I fully support his new found love.We grew apart but he is such a good man&I’m happy for them.He and his family have played such a huge role in my life throughout all these years.This week I found this song and have had it on replay.Everything happens for a reason.He just wasn’t the man for me.This week has been very emotional but I made the decision to let it go and I’m proud of the woman I have become after it all.

they cook and clean together. They didnt move to a big house. They didnt even buy a car. They got their Kids the Christmas decorations they had a deal about. They are humble, very close knit. His wife is gorgeous. But they are normal. And I love it! listen to AA youll crack up but secretly its all parents main goal.
They really really act normal. They have six kids and they act like they have some sense. A testament of great parenting by Walker and Lainey

Aside from the lyrics, my favorite part of this video is that their house isn't "picture perfect." Messy garage, scribbles on the front porch column, holes patched on the wall behind the couch... this mom of six finds relief in the little things. :) The Hayes family is the real deal.
I didnt notice much the first two times I was crying too much. But I LOVE that they are the real deal. I have 4 kids, and dang its normal to have clutter, scribbles on the porch, plaster. These are things the rest of us normal folk live with having kids.

Gosh this guy should have been getting recognized for so long he has that same heartfelt writing style of Thomas Rhett and devotion to his wife and family but with his own style. This is like the ultimate love letter. He sings about how wonderful she is even in the fun songs. Their love is completely goals. Ups and downs. Him plugging away at music. But Lainey has been there, her smile is amazing. I loved just the house as the video .Super happy to see good people succeed! He should have been able to get those blow ups years ago. This should have been a top 5 song. I believe "you broke up with me" came close. But he found a niche that is SOOOO needed right now. Light, happiness, laughter, all with undertone of his love of family. This song is sad in the fact he is talking about not being there, but he gives a gorgeous tribute to her as a what if.... We all just want light for the first time in a long time. And come on how cute was the whole family singing at different points. And the bum tap at the end. Thats when things are good.

I think the beginning of the song makes it pretty clear that he is talking about dying and her being a widow. He says at the start of the song that she always said if something ever happened to him she would never fall in love again. And he says don’t let her. This isn’t about a break up.

Had to listen to this again. My husband passed away recently and this is something he would of sung to me . But we were married it would be 51 yrs this Christmas 🎄 I have no intentions of haveing any relationships ever he was my soulmate. But what a awesome song for him to do for his wife. He does bring me a smile in this heart broken 💔time of my life.

@@jenniwilliams3295 thank u so much! He was my everything. I'm so lost. Although I couldn't see him for 4 days there no visitors rule. When it was time to turn the machines off we were blessed with a ICU doctor who aloud me to talk to him hold him for 2 hrs I made the choice to be in the room when they took the breathing tube out. I had asked for comfort measures prior so he would go peacefully. Which he did 33 min later. I had to grant his wishes and was blessed to be there to the end. His suffering ended and mine began . Thanks for your response.
