In other words, may someone continue going to thai language school for another year? How about continuing with education visas year after year with different programs (University courses, Combat, other...)? Thanks for your informative helpful content 😊

    • @brett_dev
      @brett_dev  7 років тому +1

      You need to go to a country with a Thai consulate in order to apply for a Thai visa. The problem is not going to a country and applying for a visa but getting reject by Thai immigration when attempting to come back into the country. There is no way around it. You need to get a proper visa if you're going to stay in Thailand long term.

    • @brett_dev
      @brett_dev  6 років тому

      You wouldn't need a background check for an ed visa as this is for you to attend school as a student. If you're applying to become a teacher then yes, you will be background checked.

I'm going to interview for teaching positions while I'm there...It's something I have wanted to do for a very long time...I have a question that you might be answer, and I hoped that you would give it a go. Do you know what kind of background checks are needed for teaching positions there? Or if they require them at all? I have heard that sometimes they require them from your home country, translated into Thai. A local check is pretty easy and quick here in the US but a Federal, like through the FBI can take several months to receive . I just wanted to be prepared when applying.

      They are legit, I know several people who are volunteering. It's a good option if you find something you like. There are for sure people doing it where the primary objective is the visa but they are also helping with something or other. You are not technically meant to pay to volunteer but I think that is a common enough model, you pay some sort of fee for it, or cover the paperwork costs.

    I want to apply for an ED visa in my home country. The thing is that the website says it is only valid for up to 1 year. I fear that if I send the consulate in my country my passport it takes several weeks for them to return the documents to me. So I plan to send them the application form 4 weeks before departure. What would be the impact on the duration of the claimed year? Will the 'deadline' start when I enter Thailand or the consulate approves my visa proposal? They also want to know the 'Duration of Proposed Stay'. Can I fill this out with 365 days?
    ... Well, I guess I will call them in the next days and update my comment here.

If a flight out of the country is required, then I'm thinking that a cheap flight to cambodia should be good for me to pass through immigration that way they can see I have plans to leave the country? Or do you have any suggestions/recommendations? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks R
