- The Moors Valley Railway is a 7.25 inch gauge minature narrow gauge railway located in the Moors Valley Country Park, Hampshire. It runs narrow gauge steam locos around a track that is about 1 mile in total and includes 2 stations, 4 tunnels, signal boxes, engine shed and sidings. It is fully signalled. The weekend that I visited, a small model railway exhibition was being held.

Looks like a lovely day out got to be on my list for visiting when were in the area ,a very good video too.
Well worth a visit. As well as the railway, there are lots of other activities, including walking and cycle trails, although some may only be available at weekends and school holidays. There are car parking charges.
Some years ago I had a full day instruction driving and firing a short 'goods' train and closing the loco down at the end of the day. Certificate awarded. Fantastic day. Geoff. W.
Some years ago, I had a similar experience but on a full size steam loco, 'Cheltenham', on the Mid Hants Railway. Thoroughly enjoyable.
If I wasn't in such poor health, a place I would love to visit. Thanks for sharing Keith. Cheers, Bob
Sorry to hear that you are so poorly, Bob but I hope that you enjoy watching my videos. If you think that you like the Moors Valley Railway, I think you would enjoy the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway (near Southampton Airport) even more. Have a look at some of the videos that I have posted.
@@KeithTucker45 MVR is 10x better than ELR though
@@bradf2803 Personally, I prefer the ELR but I am quite happy visiting both railways.
@@KeithTucker45 thats interesting, what do you like more about the elr
Amtrak locomotives pulling a freight train? Blasphemy!
Sometimes you just have to use what is available!
