There’s a dime trick too to know when it’s close enough to the bottom of the bowl. You’re supposed to be able to slip a dime in your bowl and when the mixer is on, it should slightly spin the dime around!
I don’t want to taste dimes in my food…
@@Woodshadow so clean the bowl when you’re done. It’s not that difficult.
I don’t have an easily accessible supply of dimes, not since 2000
i have to say it's so refreshing that learning new things is something so celebrated on this channel. none of us have all the answers and it's fun to learn along with each other. anyways, great little mixer tip, i didn't know that either! immediately whipping some cream 🏃
Luv that we have all decided as a society that the instructions manual is useless until we struggles for a couple if years and then realise if we just read the manual we wouldnt have the need to aid the kitchen aid
I personally read the manual to make sure but ppl like my mum doesnt cause she cant read the too small text. Also, she likes watching videos of tutorials in yt so she doesn't have much need to do any adjustments to these type of things cause she does it according to the vid lol. Im not sure if a lot of other people are like this too
I thought it said "flexes his stand mixer" and honestly I was ready for it
Same!
finally!!! not andrew aiding the kitchen aid 🤣✋🏻
WHAT??
I didn't know that, and I've got the same kind of mixer!! Thank you for sharing this xD
Same here. I had no idea 😂😂😂
I bought one second-hand I thought that I had the wrong parts
😱 well that just solved a many years long problem for me. Thank you!
This is rare and refreshing, people have a hard time admitting that they dont know something or that they're just straight up wrong about something.
I've had my mixer for almost 8 years and never knew that!!!!
I've had mine 12, I didn't know either!
The video we were all waiting for😂
For people with Kenwood kitchen machines: you can adjust how low an attachment goes down directly on the attachment via a nut that can be loosened. Kenwood even has a dedicated spanner for it.
🎖My Hero! 🎉
Thanks!
learning is a process everyone can enjoy and share without being ashamed of what one doesn't know
there's so much to learn and anything helpful is welcome and appreciated. i love that about ATE.
THANK YOU ANDREW NOW WE HAVE CLOSURE
Thank you! Always got frustrated with that issue and now its fixed.
I love your humility, Andrew.
Love this. It's the little dose of ATE that I needed. Also this content feels very intimate, makes me feel like part of the community for understanding this kitchen aid situation fully. I'd love more of this. Best channel ever.
I never actually knew it exist!
This is probably the best tip I've ever seen
Thanks for your humility and the tip that with it
There actually is a small independent gadget for that called the "everpenny" iirc. It keeps the attachment exactly 1 penny width away from the bowl, and since its just a small plastic part ensuring the right distance to screw in that small screw you showed, you won't need to retighten or loosen that screw anymore.
Sweet! Have the larger mixer than this one but this is awesome Knowledge to pass to my friends with your mixture style
the bowl lift version has this as well fyi
@@ZSNES Awesome! I realized after I posted I should probably check that out! Thank you for the correction!
You have the one with handle stand for the bowl? Then there should be a screw somewhere next to handles, to adjust the handle height.
@@StormCrusher94 Thanks for the specifics!
Hahaha so glad you read our comments. Enjoy your new mixer 😘
I've had my 'baby' for over 20yrs and NEVER knew; THANK YOU♥️👏
I was waiting for this moment all this time :) I knew there is something you could (and later would do) to fix your mixing position. Go Andrew !:))
You're not alone, thanks for sharing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I used to do the same and only recently learned that it's possible to adjust!
Whattttttt!?!??!? This is going to save my baking...😭😂😭😂😭😂 Thank you!!! I have actually done the "hold the bowl" thing before..this is a godsend. Thank youuuuuu
It’s still more convenient to hold the bowl with your hands than to unscrew and screw the machine back every time you wanna whip a small portion
Thank you so much for this tip! I also did the exact same thing, I’ll go running to get a screwdriver now 😆
Thanks for the heads up. Had no idea either!
I am so happy to have learned this.
That was "Worth It"
My god!! Had this mixer for years and been doubling recipes SOLELY due to this
Literally the most useful video ever
Thanks for sharing! I didn't know this either.
Ahhhhh….good to know! I frequently have the same problem. Thx so much for this video!
For a moment i thought it was that lever thing to raise/lower that our stand mixer has, which would have been so much more obvious than this.
Oooooo good to know! I’ve always been frustrated when whipping cream because my whisk doesn’t reach all the way down.
Keep up the amazing content! I can't wait to see the next video.
I didn’t know this either. Thank you for the tip
Hahaha I didn't know this but this is still funny especially the last few statements.
Wow thank you for bringing this to attention.
I’ve had my kitchen aid mixer for almost twenty years and had no idea!
Most helpful video of all time 👌🏻
OMG thanks for posting this... I had resorted to egg beaters bc I got so frustrated 😅
Wow. How do I do this on a model that doesn't tilt up?!?!
In my mixer, the bowl raises up. But there's a huge gap between the bowl, and whatever mixing apparatus I use. I had no idea this was a thing, and now I need to see if it will work on mine.
Thank you, Andrew!! I will check this on MY Kitchenaid mixer!
HOLY SHOOT! IMMA DO THIS NOW.
Thank you! I was given an older mixer and they did not have the manual. I have wanted a mixer so long and could not understand what was wrong.
love this!
That is amazing. I was mixing cookie dough the other day and I couldn’t get all the flour in. Hopefully this will fix it
I have to go check my mixer now! It's been a great mixer, but my mom and I both keep getting frustrated with the same situation - this could be the answer!
This is perfect because I was just mixing some egg whites with my friend today and we ran into the same issue and heeding your example elevated the bowl a bit. We will try to use the screw tommorow, thanks! 😂👍
Woohoo!!!! Yay that you fixed it!!!
Omg!!!! Thank you 😊 💓
I have that same mixer, I didn't know about the screw!! Ty!!
I didn't know that! I've just been "dropping" the attachment for years to get to the bottom of the bowl
as someone that inherited a kitchenaid. Mind blown!
THANK YOU!!!!
OMG...
I never knew that...
I'm so going to do this!!!!
Hahahaha finally!!!
THANKYOU!!!!!
anybody have any similar tips for the professional version of the kitchenaid? not the tilt head one, but the bowl raiser one.
Wait what? Instantly gets up to check my kitchenaid
Thank you!!
How dare you calling that KitchenAid a Mixer, IT HAS A NAME A😭
OMG, why nobody told me I can adjust the height of this thing! THANK YOU
WHY IS THIS NOT UNIVERSALLY KNOWN!!! I have ad my mixer for 5 years and now I learn this
Oh! This is such good news! I was just not locking in the paddle the full amount so that it would touch the bottom. Bahahaha this makes it so much easier.
I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS THERE!!!
Well HOT DAMNED! MY PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED!
ooohh wow! i have a kitchen aid too and i never knew this. Thanks :D
Well, today I learned.
Game changer.
Omg, thank you. My gf got me a mixer for Christmas and mixing small volumes always bothered me, no more though
Congratulations Andrew!
Btw i'd kill for that strawberries 😭😭😭😭
Wow, I learned something new today, and no I do not read the manuals lol!
Had my mixer for 12 years. Did not know.
I heard about this from Mr.Mixer!
Does this apply to the older stand mixers as well? We have had our kitchen aid stand mixer for 11 years
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
A very wise advice is at the end.
Wow! Thanks!
Learned something new
I didn’t know that...... this has changed my life
Omg! I didn't know this either!
Who knew wow thank you so much
I never knew that either!!
Wow..mind blowing...years of not knowing
So cool!
That's a darn expensive mixer my friend.
My future wife is begging for us to get one
You can get pretty good deals when they’re on sale. I got mine (KSM75SL) for $144 in 2016. I think that may have been a rare find of a deal, but they go on sale a few times a year, at least in the U.S.
Whaaat! I didnt know this either!
If something is difficult period I assume I am not using the right tool.
Is that just for the KitchenAid? Or does it work with other stand mixers?
Oh wow. I've always done exactly what you did with your hands. It's a brand new world.
Oh my gosh!!! I’ve been baking for a long time and didn’t know this😱 also where do I know you from??
Ah never mind. Buzzfeed.
Holy heck! Who knew!
Omg I never realized that
Who knew user manuals were created to *help* the user. 🤷♂️😅
