This sounds like the old school garage from way back in the day. This always happens in music, they commercialise it and ruin it. Then, once the labels get bored, the real fans take it back to the sound that made it good in the first place. I will follow UKG again, some nice tunes here.
Sir this comment warms my heart! I too was disillusioned with how the scene went for a while after the golden era. I have to say that now, to think that there are lots of relatively new names reinventing and bringing their own styles to the genre is wonderful. Some of the newer producers probably weren't even born in 1995-2000 but here they are absolutely spot on with the spirit of the music. God speed and please check out some mixes (again, all new releases) from last year as there were some really good tracks released. Richie P on UA-cam is well worth searching out too.
In my humble opinion, some of the tracks being made right now are some of the best we've ever had in the scene! I've been working on August 2022 mix this week and excited to get it upload - there are some absolutely savage releases this month!
I just started making garage music. As a Canadian I've always appreciated the diversity in the uks music scene. I am currently listening to this as I run around in the snow ❄️ 😌 🙃
