I modified cars for years then realised it ALWAYS ends up with a broken car. Because nobody in the aftermarket does sufficient testing. Just buy a faster car, it's always cheaper in the end.
Need an explanation as to how the TTE700 Dyno Test video you did 3 years ago on a stock motor was making slightly under 500 wtq and this IMS750HS is making roughly 80 more torque. heard anywhere from 500/520-550 wtq is the limit for these Inline-5's. So is this an extremely aggressive tune and this car is just a ticking time bomb or does this RS3 have upgraded trans/clutches and you didnt tell us in the video?
It's simply that you're missing parts of the equation, which I explained part of at the end of the video. This testing was done in very cool weather, in a very low DA, and the dyno results are uncorrected. This means it will register much higher power figures in cold weather. The TTE700 testing was in much warmer weather, with a much higher DA. I also showed at the end of the video how much torque the stock turbo on Unitronic's Stage 2 E85 tune made in comparable conditions, which was extremely similar in terms of the torque generated by the IMS750HS. Not only that, the TTE700 was dyno tested in FWD only. I explained in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jLkeb-ZvxmA/v-deo.html how the load wasn't correct when I was testing in FWD only on this dyno. I needed to test the car in AWD to get the proper readings with the proper load applied. If I would have dyno tested the TTE700 in similar conditions as the IMS750HS and in AWD mode, it would have made much more power & torque than it did in my previous video.
Nice update Adam! My TTRS will be at Kyle's next week to have my IMS750HS installed and the Unitronics dogbone mount. Can't wait to see similar results!

How is this “safe” with 589 FtLBS? Also theres a known issue with catless dp and over boosting due to the WG not being able to open fully. I had this problem and its hardware related.
I covered how it made that much torque in the video, and how it makes total sense with what we saw with a Unitronic Stage 2 E85 RS3 on that same dyno. I also sent the logs I took of Malia's car on the dyno to Uni, and nothing was reported about any overboosting. Perhaps what you think is hardware related is actually software related & another tuner is simply blaming the hardware on something they can't figure out?
What you covered doesn’t make sense. I believe you have shared what the safe TQ is for rods on a stock block and if it is making 50FTLBs more how is that still safe? If you covered it in your video it wasn’t clear to me which is why I am asking.
I will elaborate on my comment. You said Stage 2 E85 produced 563 FTLBs mean while this is running 578 to 589 FTLBs. It just doesn’t make sense how that is safe when it running more TQ by a decent amount if stage 2 E85 was already aggressive. Hope that makes sense. Again the safe number everyone talks about with these cars is sun 500 FTLBs so is that a lie?
Adam, I just ordered Iroz’s Tial BOV charge pipe kit and uniflex fuel tune for my current stage 2 E85 Unitronic RS3. It’s been built for about 4 years now and has been great fun. Looking forward to some more fun sounds and the ability to take the car on long road trips without worrying about fueling options. One question I have for you is, have you seen or shown gains from iroz’s new 5” intake ? I’m sure it’s more helpful in upgraded turbo cars but one thing had me scratching my head is that the air filter on the new intake is wide open to hot engine air. Your thoughts ?
A couple manufacturers have tested their 5" intakes with larger hybrid turbos and even more so, full frame turbos, and they claim more power than the 4" options available on the market. I can see this being true solely based on the volume of air needed at the higher horsepower levels and how much air you can physically pull in through a 4" intake with a sealed or semi-sealed box. I will hopefully be testing these claims this year in my RS3.
Quick questions , you guys do hybrid turbo like this on stock engine , does this mean it’s only a matter of time before you need to build the engine or for a daily driving it’s totally safe ?
This software paired with this turbo was specifically designed to run on a stock turbo. She will only need to build the motor if she wants to turn up the turbo to 100% because right now, it's at around 75% I believe.
@ryanhughes3987 and what I said still stands. Just because it reads this amount of torque on this dyno doesn't mean it will make the same amount on another in a different part of the world. That 520 is a general rule
If you plan on sticking with a stock motor, then the 750HS is the way to go, seeing as it was specifically designed for that. If you plan on building your motor the TTE777 is also a solid option.
