I’m 21 years old and I’m white, I been watching Charleston for like 3-4 years now, but I understand what Charleston was saying towards the end. Ice Cube has said something similar about him making his movies and mainly Friday was just made to appeal to the people in the hood the demographic that would understand it the most and he wanted to do that the best he could that he did so well that everyone loved it regardless of race or demographic, that wasn’t his intent or his goal but it still happened. That’s kinda what is happening with Charleston he’s so raw and authentic at times that the real people are going to gravitate to that because it’s a lack of that right now especially in the entertainment world.

Most city council members are paid a salary today, in fact the mayor of his city attempted to get herself a raise to $90k a year she's currently paid $19k a year with council members $30-$40k a year she tried to get them raised to $75k a year the request was rejected. Most local political figures are bribed through zoning proposals.

I disagree. When I look at the ballot in my local government no matter who's on it seems the course stays the deterioration.
Charleston is dead on with so much. One slight deviation, with national & state wide politics (which he wasn’t really talking about), the congressmen are most commonly attorneys who’ve only practiced law. They’ve never been in a field where they had to produce something of general value. They have no expertise or experience in any industry of value. So like Charleston said, they have all these people around them and those people are the ones who actually wrote the laws. We call them lobbyists. We thin the lobbyist’s job is to bribe politicians. That’s ignorant and false. Very rarely true. Their game is to befriend young politicians and serve as a resource and knowledge base for the politicians.
Instead of the political independently searching for an expert and learning about an industry being legislated, the lobbyists calls them up and tells them what the industry needs the politician to believe. The politician learns from the lobbyist and walks into the chambers feeling like an expert. The other politicians admire that… and the politician keeps coming back and keeps proposing bills that are in the greater good of big business.
You want a government for the people… elect people who have expertise in some area of business. Then let those people lead the boards for those fields.
Watch how problems actually start getting solved.

It’s called non profit organizations. They (the politician/self)don’t make nothing but they organizations are funneled money. Which is what he means by they accept bribes. It’s a pyramid scheme. If the people could understand who’s who then maybe they’d vote. So we including me need to be more involved in city council meets to understand the logistics and who hand washes the other. And when the govt sends out money that we demand what we need and the money comes to us of the city and not to an organization that is fools gold and nobody ends up with nothing but that organization and there employees.
