- On September 28th 2023, Rockstar has once again nerfed the Cayo Perico Heist in GTA Online. This time with a reduction in payouts and other changes that completely change the heist for the worst. In this video I explain the nerf and tell you what has changed.

Remember the mission coveted?
They first reduced the payout by 50%
Then then made the mission 150% longer
They then added triple the amount of enemies who all hit 4x harder
They then reduced the payout again by 20%
They then made the mission even longer
Then it was removed

Yea I remember they buffed the tequila and the coke it used to pay like 386K if I'm not mistaken just taking 1 cash and 2 cokes and they buff the coke to 444K I made a video of it on my main channel like a year ago when the first nerf happened I would have to go back and look at the estimate

You can actually still play the mission, it's unlisted so it doesn't show up in the job menu. Instead, you have to set jobs to visible (hidden by default on current & next-gen consoles & pc) and then manually start the mission from the mission marker
If nobody does the cayo now, which I wouldn't blame anybody doing, then rockstar have got exactly what they want. ....this is what 10 years of loyalty looks like.

Every 20+ player lobby has at least 3 blatant cheaters, you can't report them - because they automatically crash your game, the r* support responds with the same boilerplate responses, cheaters can get infinite amount of cash and give away cars, they can crash everyone in the lobby at the same time, they can force you into infinite loading screen, they can see when you are reporting them, they can spawn giant objects and trap players, they can influence player's animations and force rag-doll, they can force smoke explosions to make your game run at 2 fps... R* response... let's nerf cayo

With the removal of 1/3d of the cars from the online shops and now nerfing the Cayo Perico Heist AGAIN, I think we can officially say that MERCENARIES IS THE WORST UPDATE IN GTA ONLINE HISTORY!

In all seriousness though, there were only a few minor good things that happened with the update: the LSA missions+giving the Avenger another purpose besides being a more expensive aerial equivalent to the MOC, the F160 Raiju, the few good performing cars and the hangar ground source/sell option. All of those could've never been added, and we honestly wouldn't care. (Except for maybe the Hangar ground missions)
Compared to the impact caused by removing 180+ vehicles and nerfing the Cayo Perico Heist to the point where it'd be more worth it for solo players to do the VIP Contract and the Diamond Casino Heist, the positive/negative ratio is imbalanced toward the negatives.
If their goal was to encourage other methods of gaining in-game money, they could've increased the payouts for the other heists to the point where they'd be as good if not better than the Cayo Perico Heist (for solo players) and actually be worth replaying. But no, we all know that's not their goal.

@jacobmatthews7524 still, most of the preps are doable solo. And that's just it, you only need one other player. That's only one additional potential liability as opposed to 3 with the original heists.

I'm one of the only one of my friends who hasn't caved into GTA+. Don't get me wrong, I seriously considered it with those Love Fist cosmetics from a kmonth ago. And with them offering the Trilogy on cloud play now? It got me thinking. But the day I fork over a penny for it is the day the bombs drop and we descend into nuclear winter. Yeah, sure, it's _only_ six bucks. But it's a matter of principle at this point. Too many people have drank the Kool-Aid for them to go back on it now, and it's sad to see Rockstar turn into the same company they would have parodied in one of their games. How the might have fallen.

If they're going to reduce the payment, then they need to reduce the cooldown for the heist significantly. I'd say to be 48 minutes (1 in-game day). That way, it can make up for the very low payment.

Wouldn’t even be surprised, they’ve hated how this heist made it possible for players to actually earn money without selling their soul to grinding. Imagine putting so much good content into the game only to spend the next 3 years despising it and beating it with a rusty pipe until it’s sipping through a straw.
Just reading the newswire and i noticed "We’ll continue to monitor GTA$ payouts across all activity types and make further adjustments as needed to ensure payouts are balanced across the wide range of things to do in GTA Online."
So prepare for further nerfs on everything folks.

As if it wasn't soul destroying enough to do the Ceyo Perico setup mission and see you got the Tequilla, it's now worth 70% of what it was. Rockstar have pissed away any faith I had left in them as a game creator, the days of San Andreas and Bully left with Dan Houser and I'm not looking forward to the Cyberpunk style unfinished mess GTA 6 will be when it's finally released in 2077.
Them neglecting GTA Online doesn’t mean GTA 6 will be a bad game. In fact, this is good news for GTA 6 since it means more resources are going towards that game.

@@ScanBox500 what did I say that was factually wrong. It’s literally known at this point that most of rockstar’s staff has shifted work towards GTA 6. GTA Online isn’t getting that much support anymore and it clearly shows

I’m glad I grinded this when it first came out. I got so used to it that I started speed running the elite challenge just for fun. My fastest time was 5.27 solo. Since they first nerfed it, I’ve only played it once and it was rubbish as the dead bodies kept getting spotted by the guards, so I had to spend longer killing more guards to stop that happening. Then I didn’t have time to wait for Pavel’s text to restart the heist and lock it to hard mode. I don’t think I’ll ever play it again now. 😢
I grinded it too when it first came out and I didn’t even bother playing it once after the first nerf… because I knew the guards would keep seeing the dead bodies 🤦🏻♂️ it’s pointless now, people will just start doing money glitches instead
Same I've grinded 1.2 billion with cayo ever since it first came out (along with businesses) now I'm burnt out on it sucks to see but I figured something like this was inevitable
I grinded Cayo for 200 mill. As of right now, I can do the run solo with NOBODY spotting dead bodies and/or the alarm going off. Granted, it takes more time now, but it's just some minor adjustment.
Rockstar really killed cayo perico in favor of sharkcard sales, i get that they wanted people to do other heists but with it's cooldown and the amount of hours you gotta put into the setups it just makes cayo not worth doing anymore, im glad i was able to make money off of it before the nerf, but oh well time to do the dre missions.

This is the 3rd time they nerfed cayo the first nerf was July last yr for the criminal enterprise, the 2nd was back in dec for drug wars but this is the 3rd strike and rockstars out n this is y I dont like doing cayo anymore man I havent done cayo consistently since before they nerf it a year ago, they really dont like people making money it was just stupid for them to nerf it again when all they had to do was fix it

When the cool down was increased I started engaging with the other passive businesses and made a lot more money during the cool down than on the heist. I was kicking myself for just doing Cayo to make money.
Yea man honestly Acid lab is a good business aswell and all I do is buy supplies ez money you dont gotta do anything but boost production and buy supplies, I hardly do my mc stuff anymore but autoshop agency warehouse even and sometimes nightclub when its 2x is great source of income, occasionally I will admit I do deluxo glitch for 3.2M but I try to keep it balanced so I dont go overboard

@thegoldenorder1240 Because of the supply cost versus payoff, I only think the m c businesses are good for the nightclub. That said it ALL repetitive I listen to podcasts and audio books to make it fun.
They should have made it like the casino where once you've done one approach you have to change to a different method after completing it.

Tbh, I was never really all into grinding Cayo. I did it a couple of times. But I'm glad I tend to use the autoshop and the uni depo contract. Yes it's less money. But imo, its much more fun when you can deliver vehicles in the meantime and not have to worry about anything being ruined.
Yea man you know I kinda got bored with cayo and even tho I dont like the fact their doing this again, cayo is very played out and gets very old now but for new players yea its gonna be tough for them buddy...., but yea many of the other businesses are good sources of income it's always good to switch it up every nown and then so you dont get overwhelmed you definitely have more fun too that's y I like to play with my friends more nowadays so they can learn more of the game than just cayo
@rysaucyyiggity yeah exactly. I tend to mostly play solo but even then, Cayo just gets waaaaaay to repetitive. Tbh, that's why I enjoy the autoshop as much as i do. It's not the best money making method but it's more of the more fun business to do. Similarly with import/export just without the annoying adds. But yeah, definitely more fun with a couple of friends to mess around with in the downtime

I'm not by any means defending what shit R* is currently or has done in the past. i agree its fucked and just more means for a greedy corporate business to try ruin any and all remaining trust it has with their fanbase just to soak up that little extra money via Shark cards and GTA+.

I haven't played the cayo perico heist since they patched gold door glitch the first time. Making the game worse for the 10th anniversary, very bad move @RockstarGames.
i’m pretty sure they buffed the enemies too because my route for escaping is always just go deep into the ocean and swim away and there used to be no problem but now as soon as i go into the water el rubio somehow spots me and there’s like 3 attack boats who follow me around and actually somehow manage to hit me even if i’m at ground level of the ocean
I'm seriously considering uninstalling GTA Online now. We all know why Rockstar chose to do this. It's so they can push their GTA+ membership onto their player base. Please do not give in to their greedy motives. It even seems like a form of extortion at this point.
And I was right with my hate towards heists, because I'd rather play with NPC's and do them all solo with no risks. But now Cayo Perico already nerfed get nerfed even further. Vindicating my hate toward heists. Rockstar just does not want people to make bank anymore. And with that setup cost, "OH HELL NUH!!!". I'm good. Making Cayo Pericho a completely unrealistic heist.
Just do 25 creates of Hanget Cargo and you make even more than what you made on Cyo or any other bullshit Heist I even rarely do the Auto Shop contracts yea they are mini Heists and they are easy I'd rather just focus on my business minus MC

The least they could've done, was make the gold spawn rate slightly higher, so that people would surely play as a team.
Yea man I mean I hope they didnt break the guards again but that's the least they couldve done is make the gold spawns more easier so that people don't have to worry about going outside the compound just to fill their bags up, that's why I just like doing cayo with 2 people because you dont have to worry about getting your bags full then randomly getting caught all of a sudden

I setup a cayo heist last night after hearing about the nerf. My main target is the pink diamond. Seeing how much targets have been cut this will be my last run of the heist. At least it's a good target to end on.

Same I have 310mill rank 350 I made most of my money from Cyo and the Agency Contracts and the night club so it does not effect me but if I had no money I would not be playing this game 😂
@@danielpetrucci8952 I am at 78 Million I have over 200 cars/helicopters/planes fully loaded with all dlc/properties . I’m casual and that took years to achieve in pc environment. No mod menu or glitches. “He is one of us, a goodfella”

Not only that. They made changes, where some 100% stealthy paths now get you discovered EVERY time. I used to do this heist a lot. Now, I can't go once undiscovered. And it's usually once I already entered Rubio's office. Out of a sudden, they discover me. Even thinking about them discovering bodies...I was careful to keep them away from the heavy armored guy that patrols the whole residence, and kill some cameras. But it's all worthless, because R* still makes you get magically discovered, which means I can't even get the secondary targets anymore. I just have to get out of there as soon as possible to at least finish the mission with the lousy 700k i got for the necklace. R* really knows how to ruin their game.

Starting to think Dr Dre might end up being it's replacement. Don't cost anything to do and you can keep doing the missions
But those missions are filled up with annoying rapid fire/aimbot ememies.
Those missions peeved me off to tears. But I found that using the combat MG and just don't rush in and pick them off where it begins. Then just move in slow when it gets quiet. There is only a certain number of them. And they will thin out. The regular missions I just use the sparrow where I can.@@pedrosaabedra5653

There's also a new feature that as soon as you collect the main target, a huge detecting area goes all over the mansion that will detect you anywhere you even inside of the basement and guards will spawn, meaning that you cannot end the heist without getting detected. Or is that just a bug?
I think that's the arrival of more guards, which was always a thing ("more guards incoming"), and their new ability to see dead bodies, setting off the alert.
does the cooldown affects solo glitch? like the glitch which you disconnect your internet when receiving the money at the end?

I've only done it like once where I ran it, and another time where I joined someone else. Never really got into it, especially the infinite, aim bot helicopters that spawn. I have never completed the Doomsday Heist either, it's way to difficult. I ONLY do the Diamond Casino Heist!
Recently got back into GTA V, so I have been giving Cayo a couple of goes again as I was a bit out of the loop. I was told I was incredibly lucky a couple of days ago for getting the pink diamond and 4 stacks of gold (only 3 could be taken as we were two for the heist, but still).
Now I understand why. And now I'm just happy to end on that note.
They lengthen the time it takes to complete the heist, then add a subscription feature that gives you certain rewards, THEN they nerf the Cayo rewards. I refuse to believe that's a coincidence.
There were definitely other ways to go about this, like incentivising people to try different ways to complete the heist, and making the buildup to the heist worth it. Why not make the prep missions more interesting instead of following a helicopter for 5 minutes? Why spend time flying from one location to another during the initial intel mission, when you spawn on the island anyway? Why not nerf the route everyone takes, and buff the route no one takes, balancing it all out to make them all a lot more appealing and efficient? Maybe like a weekly switchup to make the heist more unpredictable and interesting too, so that you still have to put work in?
But they went with the easy way, nerfed the rewards, and left everything the way it used to be, and I do not blame people for not wanting to do it anymore lmao. This is just one big question mark to me.

I remember the good times with replay glitch and easy system. 3.4 mil in around 20 mins man the good ol times
replay glitch still works, the timing is just harder and you need to do the elite challenge for it to work

I've been a fan of the Parakeet Island nerfs until now, but this is a bit over the line... At least the secondary loot changes. 3 days seems long to me (23 IRL hours should be plenty), but I like the idea of the first one you do giving you one of the big-ticket items, then subsequent ones having less and less chance to give one. But that first one should absolutely guarantee one of the 1m+ items.
Fr man I would've just been good enough with the first nerf without the longass cooldown like 30 mins I wouldnt mind, it used to be 15 mins and u would make a good 1.3-1.8M a hour and now your'e just barely making a million so all their doing is making it harder for the grinders and newer players to make as much money as they can, this is not "Balancing" the game as they call it I even talked about this 2 months ago in a vid so I saw this kinda coming I even suspected they might reduce the payout at some pt because they dont want ppl making all that money, its ridiculous man
It's always a slippery slope with rockstar... I personally could live with the first nerf but the second one made the heist really boring as there was now only one viable solo method. This one killed it completely. If they had picked just one of the nerfs it would've been fine.

I would’ve been ok if they just Nerfed the secondary targets and left all the primary targets alone at the same value.
Wouldn't surprise me if they nerfed the MC businesses or Nightclub the day before announcing GTA 6 to try and bury it under the news of the new GTA.

Setup 100k and heist itself will get u around 800K so u get 700K for 30minute worth of setups and heist not worth it i could just do some contact missions or activities time trials and such better than cayo. And if it’s for coop purposes, casino heist way more better and fun than cayo.

I'm a PC player and I'm 100% going for a free mod menu now. They deserve it at this point.
I normally don’t like finding cheap ways to get lots of money/ xp really quick on games, but I had played gta on a PlayStation account for several years until I finally got a pc. I had to start over, and I wanted to get as much of the stuff back that I could. I got roughly 12 mil pretty quick, and was able to get a couple of the cars, and an agency but that’s about it. I still have about 4 mil but now I just don’t get to have all my stuff for a while.

@@mickylol8070 They won't. The whole point of the Cayo Perico nerf was because it was too easy to grind solo. Casino heist objectively is a more time consuming heist than Cayo Perico, and you also need another player for the finale.

There is no reason for me to play this game every since the cayo perico heist have its almost 2hrs of cooldown. And now there is a payout nerf, i better play other game then coz most of my friends dont play anymore when they did some kinds of this shitty nerf.
I just completed the mission on solo with the nerf, took me 50 min and got 943k earnings with the elite challenge completed too. I think it’s still decent, 50 min : 943k, (50 min using oppressor mk2 for side missions and phantom wedge for longfin vehicle side mission)
It used to be 1.400.000 earnings , now 943.000. Still pretty decent imo, but it does hurt a bit , it does demotivate to do it

Hot take, this was probably the right thing to do. I grinded cayo nonstop when it came out, bought everything I ever wanted in the game and then stop playing because I had no goals to work to any more. An I bet I'm far from the only one.
It used to be, if I remember right, that pre-nerf that the amounts you could potentially get were equivalent almost to their cheapest shark card, and I'd tell my friends not to waste their money on them and to do this heist. I didn't get super rich with this, haven't played in a while, but now seeing this, I don't at all feel compelled much to keep it on my console at all. It was to me the only real fun part of the game.

My crew hasn't played the game since they took the cars away. It's sad to say, but GTA 6 will be the first game in the series that I wait for reviews to purchase, I went from die hard Rockstar fan to zero faith in them.
