Prices are US dollar. We honestly found the prices pretty high but enjoyed what we got. Did not try the steaks because 1 price was high and 2 we were meeting friends for dinner in a few hours so we dinn't want to eat much. Steaks at El Rancho and El Toro had good steaks. Thanks for watching.
Just FYI, don't bring loonies and toonies to use as tips. The Cubans can't exchange them in the banks because they won't accept them. I usually tip a $5 at the beach or pool bar and go back multiple times. The bar people are used to it. Bring gifts as well. Especially stuff like aspirin, toothpaste & brushes, nylon stockings, nail polish,soap,mouthwash...etc. You can also bring things like coloring books and crayons or toys for the children. They will be so grateful for these because they are so expensive to buy for them. Have a nice trip.
Couldn't make out the prices at La Barbacoa. Were those prices in US or Canadian dollars? And did you try the steaks? I'm a steak eater. Thanks.
