@@AZ0986688 but u cant ignore russia radar actually detect SR71 when flying over russia, there is a reason why US stop the SR71 research, its not stealth enough at that time. cant underestimate russia bro.
@@yanzn5926 It's a total misnomer that stealth aircraft cannot be detected by radar. Stealth aircraft still have a radar cross-section, it just so happens that their stealthy capabilities place that cross-section on par with a bird. A radar can be calibrated to pick this up, but the problem is that you'll also be picking up birds, trees, radiation from the sun, and lead to thousands of false reports. I don't know about you, but sending out a thousand missiles each day to annihilate the local bird population isn't going to turn out well for your air defense capabilities after a month.
Here is another way to think of it. If stealth was indeed negated so easily, then countries would not be investing hundreds of billions into programs to develop stealth aircraft.
@@Lili_Chen2005 ofc i know that SR71 RCS not comparable to F22 in terms of size, but still we talk about technology on 1960's here, the fact that this is the first time they make a stealth aircraft that plus passed speed of sound at that time and STILL detected by russian is a FACT u cant ignore. and u have to remember SR71 can fly above the average aircraft at that time so US trully misscalculated/underestimated russian radar at that time.
(for the record, it even took 2nd or 3rd time for US to realize their mighty SR71 flight was detected by russia, its just russia's weaponary technology cant match the speed to take it down at the time)
