My dad passed in 2011. We use to sing this score together when I was very young, playing the cassette over and over in the car. We would start singing randomly on Saturday morning. I never got to see it, but it was never the time for the trip. Thank you for the Music of the Night for all of these years.

It won't be the same. Part of the reason for its closing is because Cameron MacKintosh is gutting all new productions of it (LED Screens instead of true sets, half the orchestra, half the cast, etc.) It won't be the same. This is venture VERY much worth splurging on.

I can't believe Phantom is closing. I'm heartbroken (and not just because I've never seen it on Broadway). I can't imagine Broadway without The Phantom of the Opera.
Cameron Macintosh is the one that we all have to say it’s going to close he’s going to close the Phantom on Broadway not Andrew so we all have to say why Cameron Macintosh it’s Andrew load webers musical

I first saw it in '89 in Los Angeles with Michael Crawford... saw it two more times after that... That was the soundtrack to my early 20s.
Will never forget the entire experience! It was one of my absolute favourite memories of my life, truly! Hopefully one day audiences will be able to enjoy again in the future. The staircase, the lair, the chandelier falling….incredible show Andrew Lloyd Weber!!

Reason shows close is always multifaceted, and casting for a show like this is usually on the bottom of that list. Macintosh is just a greedy SOB, that’s really what closing this show comes down to.
I am so upset about this. :-(. We had tickets to see this in September 2021 as we were going to be in NY for a cruise from CO but of course that got cancelled due to COVID. Now by the time we get back it will no longer be there. BOOOOO!!!
