One of the reasons I'm such a Brock Purdy fan and hope to see him overcome this rough season is because of how he takes responsibility.
Nothing hit harder when he spoke after the Rams game and said he felt like he failed the team. Thats not an easy comment to make, especially as the starting QB

That’s right. He should bash Purdy because he sucked this year. I don’t know why it’s so hard for you people to distinguish between being a 49ers fan and player fan. Just because you criticize a player for performing terribly doesn’t mean your not a true 49ers fan. Loyalty should be to the 49ers Franchise not Brock Purdy or any other player if they are not getting the job done on a CONSISTENT BASIS.

Did you forget that we lost Armstead who constantly took on doubles and replaced him with Hargrave who wasn’t as good and also got hurt early on? We were constantly missing corners. I’m not saying Sorensen was great, but he was fighting an uphill battle that Wilks never had to fight other than in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl when Greenlaw went down. Then look what happened..

Finally! I think we can all agree that the Niners were delt a horrible hand this year, but the Chiefs have been delt a similar hand (not AS bad but close) and are the #1 seed. Their HC schemed around the talent that he had rather than forcing 3rd and lower depth guys to conform themselves to Kyle's schemes. That is being a slave to ideology. Who cares what Kyle says to the media? Who is dumb enough to think that the head coach isn't responsible for the team's performance? It's obvious. Saying he "takes responsibility" in a press conference has no effect on the team.

    Average cohn head:
    Kyle needs to take responsibility!"
    *takes responsibility for the season
"Why does this matter! he should be taking responsibility always!"
Do you hear yourself. He is doing it now, especially in this season he does undeniably. He is doing it. Yall want to put your anger on him so badly. Damn if he does, damn if he doesnt ahh crowd.

OK, Jed says Kyle and John aren't going anywhere...but he should at least have a "come to Jesus" meeting and let him know what needs to change. Like Kyle's rookie-phobia. Kyle needs to play the players who give you the best chance to win, whether rookie or veteran.

If your owner has to defend keeping you, you’re already on the way out. He didn’t “take responsibility”, he gave a non-apology, apology. He still managed to get snarky about the question. He is immature. He’s lucky Brock saved his job two years ago. He doesn’t think he has anything to learn. He defends his obvious mistakes. He’s 0-3 in SBs. Jed seems a little “dim”, too. Sooooooo……..

Kyle just needs to learn to control a lead and to use his players in rotations to keep them fresh give him 1-2 seasons and if he still can’t get a sb win then they move on

I’ve watched a lot of Kyle and he quite often expresses regret when things don’t go well, and his part in those decisions, but he isn’t out there self flagellating so it’s not enough?
It’s ridiculous that certain members of the national media pick up on what one local guy is putting down and somehow, Jed York is having to respond to questions about Kyle’s job security, and then that same guy asks Kyle to evaluate himself in front of the media? Grant Cohn can take a long walk off a short pier, and his fans can follow him because most of them are mindless sheep who don’t know any ball.

I'm watching this, and I'm kind of laughing how he can't just say, "Kyle never takes responsibility for a damn thing" Just say it, we don't need all these qualifying words. In 8 years, this is the third time I've seen Kyle take any kind of responsibility. I appreciate Kyle finally saying something, but I'd like to hear something specific. The first time Kyle ever said he did anything wrong, I literally spit up my drink I was so shocked. I want to hear Kyle say something like "I need to do a better job helping guys get open against man coverage"

I think this was a great assessment of Shan and it made me look at him a lil differently cuz ive been a lil bit of a shanahan hater.
I will say, a coach and leader SHOULD understand the nuance of each individual and know how to pull out the best of those players. Maybe if he adopts a little more of that ideology and strategy, the results would be different. But it also may not. Time will tell

I always got the sense that Kyle's relationship with the players was different than his relationship with the media. I think those relationships are a lot more nuanced than we realize. He's just not a guy that is going to drag players issues to the podium. The players when interviewed always seem to have Kyle's back, and to me that just wouldn't happen if he were truly some kind of totalitarian ass hole.

😂 Kyle isn't responsible for injuries. But not playing the backups last yr, why starters might be why they been tired n hurt. Not taking a chance on rookies, instead relying on vets. Kyle is responsible. Selecting Lance. Signing Hargrave. Selecting Moody. Select 2 LBs n 2 TEs, without any return. Not Selecting O-line in draft except Puni. Letting Kingston go. Nobody perfect. But repeated misses start to add up. New DC. No OC. Kyle might be tired. Need a break or recharge himself. Niners need to rebuild. Might take a couple draft for new O-line n D-line.

Look grant covers the niners but yet praises their downfall. He literally said he was enjoying the niners 1.5 chance of making the playoffs. Grant is the guy who wants and likes to create division and some fans fall for it. This dude should not have a platform to speak on the Niners. A lot of fans think he’s speaking truths and ask the questions no one wants to ask. But no! Grant tries to break this fan base apart. This is why not only coaches but some players don’t like this dude. That’s the reason he it the ultimate hater. That fact he goes on live streams talking to other content creators thinking they all know everything but they don’t. Everything they talk is speculation just hate this dude and the others that follow him.
