A light rain shower that soaked the beach near the Cocoa Beach pier Wednesday afternoon did not sway people from gathering on the sand and in the water.
18mph west wind makes it almost impossible to catch a wave. Then you have to deal with every mid Florida kook in the universe who see's a hurricane and think thats the best time to learn to surf.
Love cocoa beach but surf, not that great. But have caught many epic swells of my life their south and in Sebastian. Soft shallows so waves can only get but too big before closing out but times it can be on fire but most often it's FLAT...
Pretty minor stuff...seen bigger waves after a summer thunderstorm. Been a west wind from the hurricane passing by, flattens the surf.
