@paddyleblanc Absolutely. I have the book and it is very detailed. It gives us insight as to just how much Reserve Police Battalion 101 and other units were worse criminals than many of the familiar names we hear about when discussing the Holocaust.
Such a sad part of history.. it's important we remember what happened and prevent history from repeating itself. My grandpa was a tank commander in WW2 and helped liberate a concentration camp.., he didn't share much of what he saw because it was just too painful.. Excellent video, well done!!!
I went there over a decade ago and the villa looked like it had before all run down and you could see the rear terrace and was for sale, i remember taking a photo and thinking it would become a museum/memorial but for some weird reason it has been renovated and now a family home. I mean who the hell would do that -
Well, I recommend looking into what happened to the site of the former Konzentrationslager Gusen in Austria (Then part of the III Reich). The Polish elite was exterminated there. Now they're building family houses there...
I visited the former camp at Plaszow last year while spending a week in krakow.Besides a few information boards detailing the horrors which took place here , you’d be forgiven to think you where strolling through a suburban park.Dog walkers, cyclists ,runners. I wondered if the locals realized the events which took place on this hauntingly beautiful place. I feel a permanent information and educational facility is needed within the grounds , in tribute to the thousands of souls who perished in this little known part of the Nazi regime.
As a frequent visitor to Krakow, I have been to Plaszow (real camp and the movie set) as well as Auschwitz and Birkenau, and all Schindler's List shooting locations. Being in those places certainly brings it home how terrible those events must have been. Some areas of the Krakow ghetto are still as they were back in the 1940's, and there are a couple of segments of the ghetto wall still standing, and in one place there are still bullet holes in the wall where a group of elderly were executed.
What happened can & should never be justified or forgotten Regardless of race, religion etc period . No human should ever have been made to go through all this atrocities but seeing the clip in Schindler’s list and actual place of the grave/tomb stone road and seeing a clip from sometime in September 2023 of ultra orthodox Jew youths dancing & stomping on Palestinian graves makes you wonder Are humans really connected to each other in humanity or just to what we belong to racially, religiously & politically! The victims of yesterday are becoming or have become their tormentors/murderer’s inheritors. The batton of inhumanity has been passed from the Nazi’s to their victim’s progeny. Himmler / Goebbles to Itamar Ben Gvir & Zvi Sukkot. We are doomed but Hell awaits, God has never condoned atrocity even if it’s sanctioned by the “chosen people “
To equate modern Israel to the Nazi atrocities indicates a negligence on your part to honestly consider the facts. The first intends to survive, Hitler intended to conquer and liquidate those that didn't fit his twisted, nationalist ideals. That said, Hell awaits the disobedient - agreed. @@srashed6934
The Memory of what happened in these dreadful places must be kept for the world to see. What is more upsetting is people still deny it ever happened or it’s just a conspiracy theory.
Deniers have ulterior motives. Sadly but not on this scale it has happened since in the killing fields of Cambodia, Rwanda and in Bosnia. Under cover of war and also its easy to do this to people no one is invested in saving

There’s a documentary of the maid and daughter of Goeth met. They toured the house there together. The daughter couldn’t seem to fully understand. The Jewish maid cried, no I could see it all right here. Here is where he trained his dogs and people were torn apart. The Jewish maid though spared, had to watch behind barred windows, listening. She longed to be instead in the camp.
I know this comment is out of the ordinary, but that grey house must be haunted for sure considering the amount of atrocities inflicted upon these prisoners. This history must absolutely must continue in generations to come, but unfortunately, humanity doesn't seem to learn from what happened as they're in the spotlight again, and I personally find it tragic.
I am a muslim but i literally cried and watch documentaries and movies on holocaust 😭😭😭 If i was alive at that time i would fight nazis and save humanity.. it makes me sad whenever i listen or watch holocaust . Rip to those millions
Absolutely wonderful information covering Plaszow. I have heard of it several times but really knew nothing of its operation. Many thanks for showing us it.
Went to Krakow this October after not being back to Krakow and Auschwitz since I was 12 years old (16 years ago), was a very different sight to see, a lot has changed for the tourism factor, especially Auschwitz/Birkenau but I can't say it's for the bad, we took a tour this time around and was just as emotional as 16 years ago.. Went to Plaszow for the first time and was amazed of what was left (pretty much nothing), it is incredibly hilly though and quite the walk when you visit all corners of the former camp, luckily they are now doing excavation work to put down gravel trails to make it more accessible and nicer looking and really getting the history known to the people. The szary dom (grey house) is in really rough shape, but hope they can manage to turn this in to a museum later on. Went to visit as much ww2 places I could fit in a week time, went to the former ghetto's, the bridge which was also in Schindlers List, the Schindler museum (was a bit of a let down ngl) and many more places from the movie and real life... Will 100% come back in the future.
That was extremely interesting and very disturbing to think that one human can do that to another. I was born in 1953 and I can remember my dad telling me about the concentration camps and I couldn’t understand why nobody stopped it? You are quite right to say that we need to explain this to children today, as confronting and unbelievable as it is may seem makes it all the more important that we talk about it.
In 2023 just look over seas. It’s Erie that this can happen. It’s history repeating Just like the 1918 pandemic and Covid. So creepy but yet so real. Pray for peace. Tfs. Do not forget this ever.

I'm a Brit in the USA, and my Grandfather was shot down and became a German POW [EDIT. as in a POW of the Germans] for four years. He came out looking like a skeleton, and he was in a special (one would think "better") camp; Stalag Luft. It took America until 1941, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, to join us in fighting Hitler. I see the same resistance in many Americans today, who don't want to fund, let alone fight, for Ukraine. Even more disturbing, is the fact that so many have never be taught, or deny, or have forgotten the terrible horrors of WWII. Thank you for sharing this, @Dave On Arrival. I'll be sharing this across social platforms, in hope that your excellent documentary on this horrific time will be watched by other audiences. Best wishes. EDIT: I wrote the above when I'd only watched a few minutes of this documentary. Clearly, I am preaching to the choir, Dave. My heart to yours.
@@sassycat6487 No, apparently I need to write better. He was a POW of the Germans. I just clarified that in the original comment. He was Canadian, and flew with the British Air force during the war. I have a silver metal tankard they gave him at that time, and treasure it.
Theirs a book called “No Greater Ally” and its about Poland as a whole and how they fought for the entire world’s freedom and fought damn hard and well and in the end they were absolutely sold out and thrown to the dogs, and apparently Churchill tried telling FDR not to trust a damned thing Stalin said, especially about the Soviets were just gonna make sure Poland had free and fair elections and have self determination, but FDR was out of his league as far as politics go,eastern Europe was not upstate New York or wherever he was from and he didn’t know who he was dealing with in Stalin, but anyway, the Poles were some of the best soldiers in WWll and contrary to popular belief, their military put up a better fight than anyone else that was invaded by the Nazis other than the Soviet Union, but yeah, those ppl have had to fight for centuries for peace and usually knew going in they had a pretty good chance of losing but gave it hell anyway, just on principle
This was a somber and respectful presentation of the camp of the Plasvow where thousands of people who were tortured, murdered and worked to death. It has been preserved by the victims and survivors in their memories of this horrible place. Vaya con Dios y en paz descansen. 🙏 😢💔 It seems we cannot learn, as Hegel once said the thing we learned from history is that we cannot learn from it.😢❤
Gday. You made your video in the most respectful way, at the same time keeping the victims voices alive & to hopefully tell those deniers out there that this "did" truly happen. I have been there, I made a point of it to go, at the end of July & early August of this year, & to see the ghetto wall, also to Auschwitz, Birkenau & Schindler's. For those evils who hide in plain sight should be ashamed of themselves. Thanku so much for sharing. Ana.
"...partly due to the following Soviet regimes' suppression of Jewish interests." You need be respected for citing this forgotten aspect. What occurred in (and to) Poland after the war was a crime in itself, facilitated by FDR and Churchill at Yalta and prior settings leading up to the ultimate surrender of Nazi Germany. Keep up the excellent work, you have a natural gift for it.
In most human beings there is the seed of hatred, the seed of love and decency. Often in time a demagogue finds the key to unlock the hatred in some people and if that demagogue achieves controlling power, the seed of hatred grows quickly. From that seed come the killers of Auschwitz and Plaszow: they are ordinary human beings who listened to the demagogue. It can happen in our beloved USA: it can erupt anywhere. It is our duty to make sure it does not. If we can.
Many people think it will never happen where they live. It has happened too many times and is still happening in some places. If we don't think it can happen where we live, we will never be part of the solution.
I went to krakow & plaszow last year with my son & his friend,& i go back again in 12 days time with my girlfriend,i intend to go back to plaszow & pay my respects again, absolutely brilliant video mate,so respectfully done,R.I.P. to all the victims, thank you 💔💔❤️❤️ can you tell me where the last part of the remaining ghetto wall is,i know where Schindlers factory is & the square with the memorial chairs, but i,m not certain where the wall is,& i would also like to pay my respects at a memorial where orphans were executed by the SS,but cant seem to find the location, thank you once again ❤️❤️
Wow, amazing that you are going back again! There are 2 ghetto wall remnants left that I know of. One is on Lwowska street the other is in a little park called Plac Zabaw behind a school. Both can be found on Google maps.
Thankyou for this terrifying and yet incitful documentary. I am 82 now and remember when the horrors and death numbers were coming out to the general public when I was beginning high school. I had a history teacher, who when I raised this subject began yelling at me that it wasn't true. In this period of another "Jew hating" era due to the Israel Palestine conflict, I have been encountering people l know who are spouting "Free Palestine " and have no idea what they are talking about. It is just so mindless. These people seem to have missed ancient history and WW11 teaching in school or something. It seems to me that the general population is becoming a hot bed of ignorance and ignoramuses. There seems so little depth of humanity instilled and even education of the humanities etc. is so shallow. I applaud your firm decision to never stop teaching this horrifying period of history. Blessings!!
Grandma And my mother lived there in the villages as it all went down. Surviving with what was available around them to eat . I went as a child not understanding it’s full depths but it’s history…. Today I see it play out in different standings Without a bullet. Without a voice to be heard. Because security we gave our freedom to . And disease 🦠 just because we were segregated to inside different buildings throughout the country. History is seen when you look at it correctly to see the future. Amen 🙏 prayers for those lost their lives to be free from the nothing that should have never been. 😢
I was first there nearly 20 years ago when it was a wilderness. I subsequently visited it on a number of occasions. It is only in the last 2-3 years that it has been landscaped and tidied up. It's not true to say that nobody knew about it, as everyone I met in Krakow did. That's old people and young people.
I listened to a story about a "good guy' that worked at that camp " Karlie' ...he had a dog too! He would bring this family(of 2 aunts and 4 kids) food and pet the dog...in a sea of sadness...it was heartwarming to know not everyone was on board with these maniacs
My heart is heavy. I am sooo sorry to all who endured theses atrocities. . But one thing I have never understood. If the germans took such great lengths to try to cover up all their crimes, why were they obsessed with documenting everything they did?
That was to do with the final solution by the Nazi's in the murdering of the Jews in the extermination camps. The Hitler and the SS had quotas to exterminate as many Jews as they could in a month or a year which was written down and kept as a record for the senior SS and also Hitler himself. Some of the records would have been destroyed as the allies liberated the camps so the totals the allies actually found could have been a lot more.
@@kw2519 I was thinking in general terms, there is one happening right now but governments and private sector players are intimidating, silencing and punishing those talking about it.

An excellent opportunity and presentation about the camp portrayed in SCHLINDER'S LIST. I don't think I could live in the house where Goth lived and used as his post of death. It should have been a museum. After the Germans destroyed the camp while retreating, the Russians tried to force the Holocaust as a topic off limits. I am so glad that someone cares enough to continue the memory regardless how small. Did society really mean: NEVER AGAIN/NEVER FORGET? Seems to me the answer is NO. If we meant it, why did the 7 October 2023 massacre occur in Israel? Instead of supporting Israel, fighting again for their existence, leaders and fools want Israel to stop protecting their people and their country. Places where JESUS walked and taught, are trying to be taken away from Israel. What about genocides that have happened around the world since WW2? What about China? May GOD bless the victims regardless of the location. We must stand up and speak out against genocide.

Well, if the Cancel Culture has its way & is successful in Toppling Historic Statues & Monuments, changing the Historic Names of Buildings, Schools & Streets, this may in fact occur again. You don't destroy history. You learn from it!
Not ONLY must this be taught in our schools so it's not repeated we MUST also teach about ALL the mass murders done. This includes the assault on the native American Indians that was another holocaust. There's so many episodes like this in world history. Look at how many christians were killed in the arenas by Rome. BUT we haven't learned a damn thing now we massacre the unborn and list it as a right, if you don't want a kid either don't have sex, get fixed or take the pill BUT we can't do that because it makes WAY to much sense and then there's nothing to bitch about. As a whole this is a deprived world and it's only going to get worse. Soon there will be camps again only holding true believers in Christ and the mass murderers will again be happening. I've watched many a film on this time in history and I weep almost every time. If I get to feeling things are unfair I just watch Shindlers List.
Plaszow concentration camp in Poland was destroyed, unlike Auschwitz Birkenau, and Auschwitz Birkenau two both of which are in Austria have not been destroyed or wiped out the reason why they are still commemorated and visited. Maybe you should ask the Polish government why they destroyed the concentration camp. The Plaszow concentration camp. Maybe the Polish authorities didn't want the world to know. They two were the abilities of the Nazi Holocaust. Unlike the Australians, who did not demolish the concentration camps in their country. None of the concentration camps should have been demolished or destroyed they should've been left as a moment anima Morial to the millions of Jews that was slaughtered by the Nazis so maybe the Polish government should be ashamed of themselves. I've not only enabling the Germans in what they did but trying to erase that and sales as the able is why was the concentration camp in their country destroyed? Plaszow concentration. Camp in Poland, has been completely destroyed and erased. That is why it doesn't get the publicity and the attention as I was the with stars because it still stands so why did the Polish government destroy the concentration camp in their country and the Australians didn't that's a question you should ask not criticise people for not acknowledging the other concentration camps. The other concentration camps were destroyed by the governments of those countries like Poland, the enablers of the Holocaust, yeah, just as guilty as neo-Nazis
Investigate do research as to why Plaszow concentration camp in Poland was destroyed, instead of being left intact, like Auschwitz Birkenau and Auschwitz two in Austria, well left intact as a memorial. That's the question you should be asking why did the Polish government destroy the concentration camp in their country? Yeah, something to investigate who authorise the concentration camp Plaszow concentration camp in Poland to be abolished and erased why it was should've been left like the others in Austria, as a memorial to the victims of the holocaust. The the Austrian authorities did not demolish the concentration camps in their country. Why did Poland do that to raise their horrible history, that they were the enablers of the murders of Jews? None of the concentration camps should've been destroyed. None of them. It should've been a living reminder of what the Nazis did, and what the polishauthorities, dead and the Austrian government dead and the world did how else did the Nazis get away with killing 6 million Jews why the world did nothing. The enablers did nothing especially the Catholic Church and the United States of America. He didn't do nothing until Pearl Harbor yeah
You must mean by actively trying to prevent this same thing from happening to them again? Israel is the most free and democratic nation in the entire Middle East, and only supporters of murderous terrorism take issue with that fact.

Well what happened to the Jewish people is horrid, so you would think they would be sympathetic, but I know many Jewish people are upset about the Palestinians, but many are not. I mean the Nazi’s destroyed a Jewish cemetery, and IDF just bulldozed cemeteries of the Palestinians. It’s horrible that they are doing what was done to them. Palestinians in jail that have died all have their organs taken out, before they hand them back to their families.

The Poles were very anti jews. Listen to the survivors testimonies. They were hunting even those who survived the camps. Also they all say that the most cruel were the Ukrainians, Poles, Lithuanians and Latvians. The axis is alive even today. Only now, against the Russians who liberated most of those camps.😢

I toured Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps and it made me feel sick. It would be difficult for children to grasp, but I hope the children that do go there learn from it in some way.
They were GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMPS - they were not polish but GERMAN, nazi Germany started WWII, nazi Germany invaded Poland in September of 1939, nazi Germany occupied this land, nazi Germany builded this death camps and NAZI GERMANY were killing people - remember this and do not mistake it with Poland or polish people because they were victims and oppressors were vastly Germans and sometimes other nations who volunteered to be in III Reich SS units.

Some areas of the Krakow ghetto are still as they were back in the 1940's, and there are a couple of segments of the ghetto wall still standing, and in one place there are still bullet holes in the wall where a group of elderly were executed.
Yes, I'm glad it's not all erased, but it is somber to visit these places and learn about the history. Everyone needs to be aware of it though.
Strange logic flying your Ukrainian flag and it being a nazi stronghold. Azov, right sector, national corp, svoboda, CUN etc etc.
It's a bit of a hike if i remember correctly

Deniers just choose to not see the truth 😞
Deniers have ulterior motives. Sadly but not on this scale it has happened since in the killing fields of Cambodia, Rwanda and in Bosnia. Under cover of war and also its easy to do this to people no one is invested in saving

I’m watching this in 2023 and fear history is repeating itself 🥺
We know who the real war criminals are in 2023. And the irony is that they use German Shepard dogs to scare Palestinian children.
And once again, it’s the elites that are supporting it.
Thanks to the muslims
@@aaronmiller7982actually it's just "regular" Americans who are letting it happen again.
I fear you might be right. I have been waiting for the trumpets to sound
Wow
I just watched that. When she was walking up that huge stair case and said "he used to push me down these stairs" and started crying 😿
If any place is haunted, it might be that one
I agree. I said that right at the start with Russia and Ukraine. This is 2023 you would think people would see the signs of the past
I am a muslim but i literally cried and watch documentaries and movies on holocaust 😭😭😭
If i was alive at that time i would fight nazis and save humanity.. it makes me sad whenever i listen or watch holocaust . Rip to those millions

First they move them to a small strip of land, then they move them away from there and kill them. In 2023,in 1942, please pay attention
So much history in Krakow it would take 100 documentaries to scratch the surface
Thanks Dave for sharing this

Magnificent presentation. Thank you so much.😢
That was extremely interesting and very disturbing to think that one human can do that to another. I was born in 1953 and I can remember my dad telling me about the concentration camps and I couldn’t understand why nobody stopped it? You are quite right to say that we need to explain this to children today, as confronting and unbelievable as it is may seem makes it all the more important that we talk about it.

Poles certainly have incredible resilience and strength.

Thank you for your kind comment 🙏
"...partly due to the following Soviet regimes' suppression of Jewish interests." You need be respected for citing this forgotten aspect. What occurred in (and to) Poland after the war was a crime in itself, facilitated by FDR and Churchill at Yalta and prior settings leading up to the ultimate surrender of Nazi Germany.

Blessings!!

PLACES WHERE THE LIVING ENVIED THE DEAD...

Not Polish death camps…nazi german death camps in Poland.
Not Polish death camps…Nazi German death camps in Poland.
