The Dear Name live at Love Poem concert was heart wrenching 😢😢 I keep saying it's a fancam but is it really one? What do you guys think?
Iirc it was on her last day of Seoul concert during encore...IU was heartbroken bcs she was just told that Goo Hara passed away, while only about a month prior she also lost her best friend Sulli, both due to sui****. So she dedicated this song.
I didnt know that was around the time of Hara's passing 😢..if I knew I don't think I can watch it without crying 😥 She gave it her all and finished the performance beautifully ❤️
IU did send the invitations to those unknown artists such as street singers, backup singers, and the sign language people (IU learned the sign language for her drama called My Mister) who may never be able have the opportunity to sing on the stage so she decided to give them hope that they can still dream and keep pursuit their dream! Many of us cried watching that performance since we knew exactly what she did and this is one of the reason why she is called the angel without the wings because she is always doing things for others and donate so much as well. The last encore dear name performance was heartbreaking because IU just found out one of her friend took her own life right before she went back up on the stage, this is why she paused towards the end to compose herself and many of the audience cried and thanked her for getting through the song and worried about her. This was IU’s third close friend who took their own life because of cyber bullying! These same cyber bullies are also trying to attack IU to do same for many years and all of us are trying to protect IU from them. They hate IU even more because she has been fighting back and standing up against them. We all need to keep protecting Iu from these nasty evils. I’m glad you found IU and and appreciating her true talent and more you know about IU, you will love her even more! Happy listening 💜💙

She combined the 2 songs to tell one story. In through the night she writes a letter to a person and sends fireflies to that person. So the jars that kids are holding on stage are fireflies. At her Hong Kong concert in 2017 her staff handed out cards to the audience so they could write their names on it and hold it up during Dear Name, a song where IU is telling a person that she will not forget them and will remember their name. IU was so taken by it that she also had to pause during the song. The people calling out their names is simply and extension of this. The singers, two of which are her back up singers (the producers of the MMA screwed this part up as they names were to appear when they sang. The 2019 performance of Dear Name was at her last Seoul concert where she had learned before singing this song the Goo Hara was found dead, having taken her own life, making the 2nd of her 2 friends to have done so in 30 days. She strughled to finish has you can see in this performance. She ask the crowd to help her and sing for her if she couldn't. This was the last night of her LOVE POME tour in SOUL , this was her last song and she got bad news when she went back to change her clothes and found out one of her best friends FX member SULLI had took her own life on OCT 14TH 2019 so that is what she was saying at the start of the song , it was a shock for IU because she was going on a vacation trip after the tour ended with SULLI and GOO HARHA who also took her own life 3 weeks later after SULLI passed away . You CAN ALSO see IU break down and cry half way through the song ...

if you seek the news abt love poem concert, the concert was almost cancelled bcs of that sad occasion. The 1st and 2nd concert performance of Love Poem in S.Korea are quite strict in safety bcs iu's condition was not yet 100% (and fans were worried). If you search iu's love poem fancam in youtube, there are some of them with big views are from that days, bcs her performances are so charged with emotion :') also fans before she sang Dear Name (after that 2nd sad occasion) generally told her "its okay", "we love you" and "thank you" :')
I was specifically searching for dear name performance with sub and this one came up. I didn't know about the situation. I learned about it from the comments. She must have been devastated yet still gave her all to perform for her fans! So much respect for IU ❤️

I have seen IU sang If You by Bigbang filmed by a fan and the audio sounded amazing. Her live singing is better than her official MV.
