@@OneTireFire I got it in carbon black so black with dark blue accents. Brooklyn grey also looks really nice in person. Matte paints are too high maintenance for my taste and too pricey.
@@zoidbergcod4 - Great color! I have X5 F15 Carbon Black bought ten years ago. The leather interior is terracotta color. Ten years of pleasure and two more to go because of the low emission zone. The next one will be a 3 series, 330e.
A handsome and impressive car. BUT, 80% charge needed for maximum acceleration!? If so, such accleration will rarely be available and the specs are misleading. Imagine if a gas or diesel car could only match its claimed acceleration with its fuel tank full!
Yeah, it is and I agree with your argument. All EVs do this, though. If you don't have a battery close to full, they won't deliver their full performance potential. The total voltage of the battery pack drops as it discharges and resistance in the individual battery cells increases. However, the difference is negligible, and it's barely noticeable when driving-the car still said on its torque readout that it delivered 820 Nm even at 50% state of charge. Still, it felt a tad slower than when its battery was fully charged.
VW iD.7 Tourer is a much better value option imo, not the same performance of course but comparing the AWD versions it is a full Model Y SR cheaper than the BMW! (at least in Sweden)
@@anton_grahn Oh, sorry, I misread your comment. Yeah, the ID.7 is a great deal, but it doesn't drive as well as the i5 and the interior can't compare. It does have more range, though, and the GTX matches the single-motor i5 for power and is a bit quicker to accelerate. Again, I'd love to drive one and am working on getting one to review.
BMW why are you still making electric cars what a waste of time , you see if the electrical grid through out the U.S was in placed before electric cars were starting to be manufactured i get it but but it wasn't and that's the problem

Great video. I’m binge watching i5 reviews in anticipation for my own i5 M60. Only 2 months production time but it feels like eternity! 😅
Thanks! You're going to love the car. What color did you get it in?

do you have to stomp on the accelerator??? just a simple hard press would and it would respond..
@@GeoMarfil it was meant as a joke. in reality I pressed hard on it

Love the 🚗
You have actually underfloor storage when you select the i5 40
Oh, you do? I didn’t know that. Will have to investigate further.

I would love to try out an ID.7 Tourer. The Model Y is a crossover, not a wagon.
@@OneTireFire Cool! Yeah I know, just saying the cost of a Model Y is the price diff between the two :) ~45k Eur

BMW 5 and a lot of leg room? LOL.
What do you mean?
@@OneTireFire leg room in 2nd row is quite bad for the length of the car

@@sandyvalentin3072 the electrical grid can be upgraded where needed. I don’t think that’s the main problem in the US or Europe.
