That is why most all sewer connections are inside and six feet underground here in America and especially in the middle and north of the country. Also most new and older homes that suffer a frozen outside tap. Have a tap that the valve is inside were it's warm to stop freezing.

First of all, I have a cup of coffee in hand, so I'm ready for this, but... At the same time...do people just not keep a garbage can in their bathroom? How lazy do you have to be to flush things like that? Like, I don't shame people for what they eat, their weight, anything that can be an issue brought on by poverty... None of that. But you can help flushing friggin pads and stuff. That's just all on you if you do it. You can't claim ignorance. This has been preached for decades and it's posted on the wall of every public bathroom for this reason.

I don’t think those were sanitary pads, I think they were female incontinence pads. They are bigger and have a type of absorbent gel in them. That’s why I think they get engorged in the drain when they flush.

So many cracks would have most people worry of root invasion clogging the pipe. In this job, its the worry of catching non soluble items causing the problem. And the tricky jobs always happen in the heavy rain or cold. A warm feed is needed after this one🍗🍔🍟
Would am eel/snake have been easier to break through the frozen sewage than the jet in this case? Just wondering if "drilling" out the frozen stuff would have been faster than melting it out with the jetter. Or would that have risked breaking the pipe?

No the drains where cleared. It is often a misconception that it is our job to remove all debris sewage, sanitary towels, durex, wet wipes and so on from the drain system. It is NOT we are there to unblock! We are not there to police what goes down. Yes where practical I will pull stuff out but in this case I would not. The sewage and incontinence pads u suggest might block the drain had moved into the larger main sewer so no problems. I unblock mate I dont take responsibility for what I unblock. Those are mostly panti-liners. You roll them up… use 1 piece of toilet paper, wrap it up nice and neat then throw away in the nearest trash bin. Nothing too hard to comprehend…

Once something snags it just keeps stacking up in the pipe. These new low flush toilets do not help. If it were an older multi gallon flush all the garbage found here might just of made it to the mains and not blocked up.
