Babs' debut for Strictly was a trendsetter in more ways than one. Producer Louie Vega came up with the canny idea of sampling a vocal hook from his own production and putting out the sample track first. The sample track was Hardrive's 'Deep Inside' and when 'Beautiful People' dropped with a vocal hook everyone already it blew up instantly. Setting the tone for 1990s vocal house, 'Beautiful People' firmly established Tucker as a leading lady of house and crashed the UK Top 30 courtesy of Positiva.

I'm 22 and I met her on a plane from Barcelona to Ibiza, she was seating right next to me with her husband. I had no idea who she was, but she was really nice and kind so we started to follow each other on social media. When I arrived to the hotel, I realized she was actually famous and that her career has been amazing

AMEN!!!!;lucbear you are so right!!! I could not have said it better myself. For years I partied my ASS off in the 1990's the best times of my life. Sometime when I think of those times. I get so depressed an sad. I really miss those days... We partied our ASS off without all the drugs alcohol and just going to find someone to jump in the bed with..I'm so happy and grateful that I was BLESSED to have experienced those amazing 💓 times. When there's so many people who will never get the pleasure and having lived on such a natural high!!!

Just thought about Barbara Tucker and looked her up! I remember her from the clubs in NY back in the 90’s… She used to hang everywhere like me,… gay clubs, after hours clubs, house music clubs, R&B spots…she let me listen to songs like deeper love and beautiful people - stuff she was working on and she was hustling to get her music produced! Awesome little package! Talented huge soul!!! Glad she got with little Louie Vega after the Garage closed down and Louie was coming up! Her music was as soul lifting as she was!!!❤. GOD blessed us with Barbara!!!

Early 90s music was a legendary time in dance music, particularly house & hip hop. Even rock was having their moment with grunge as well. Barbara Tucker was one of the voices that pumped the house scene. I hope she's continuing to make more music today...

Underrated is an understatement. I'm the right age and have the right taste in music that I should have known about Ms. Tucker this whole time. Only recently discovered her through Pandora recommendations.

I remember getting so excited when I found the CD single of this in the store, it had so many great remixes on it. I heard Moné, Ultra Nate, Amber, India and Barbara all perform in NYC once. They all did an a-cappella together and then separate. The crowd was so silent, they were truly mesmerizing and it’s something I’ll never forget.
