In this video, like the Top KDF Ships video, I will list out what I believe are the best Romulan Republic ships currently available in the game and as the first "half faction", there are quite a lot available. Romulans are known for their terrifying warbirds and their ability to cloak and track through enemy space unseen and unknown and in Star Trek Online, it's not any different.

It did have the red bird in SNW. It was the exact same ship that was used on Picard.
Honestly all of those Romulan Command Warbirds were gorgeous.
In addition to most of those, I fly around the Valdore/Morigu a lot and the Suliban Assault Carrier is great too.
Excellent choices! The Morrigu will always have a special place in my top picks.
legendary scimitar is my baby, I wish we could gotten the romulan/Borg bridge on it like the other tal shiar ships tho, such a missed opportunity.

The Valkis is DEFINITELY the prettiest of the three massive temporal dreads, also the only pretty one IMO, so low bar.
I saw a Durkath in orbit of Risa this morning, with a light skin on it...I gotta say it looked pretty damn good. It almost makes me sad that the Universe class is canon, I'm sure Cryptic could've done a better job.
@@3Rayfire They'd have more time than "Look, so we need a thing for next week..." at the least. Looking at the Durgath again I do actually like it more than what I remembered it being. Still wouldn't mind a shorter neck and/or bigger wings though.

Great video Auggie I have a Rom tac toon and an urge to do some serious RP with her so this was really helpful.
I think I will choose the Legendary D'deridex because as you say it's THE iconic Warbird in the whole of Star Trek and I love it!
The trait will also help me complete a torp build I'm working on so it's a win/win for me.

The Vastam was my first T6 ship. I stopped playing STO, but I want to get back into it. Happy to see the Valkis is still a decent ship. I might consider getting that Legendary bundle, if still available.
Just got my romulan to 65 this morning. The double xp sure helped. Can’t wait to get my first tier 6 ship. I’m leaning towards the legendary scimitar.
I'm a big fan of the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer's T5 skin. I rocked that on my Rom Character for a while. Can't go wrong with the D'deridex. Every time I see it, I hear Ron Jones's theme from TNG's "The Neutral Zone."

Perhaps just for function & not visual as an honorable mention could be that Suliban Silik too. I find it performs very well for a Romulan-esque starship.

As a Space Magic main, I feel compelled to mention the Sui’mor. I know it doesn’t have a singularity core, but it is still Romulan and also a fantastic science ship. It doesn’t look half bad either.
My favoured STO Romulan ships are the Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird and the Khopesh Tactical Dreadnought Warbird. The former because it's a Vulcan/Romulan hybrid so fit's the Vulcan look and the latter is due to having an old CSV build on it that still does the biz.
Fleet Mogai with a X upgrade on it, and a khopesh with x upgrade are my go-to's.
I really love my faeht Intel warbird, running CSV. The thing is a beast. But that being said I don't have the legendary semitar yet, so this.might change. I just really love the handling of the faeht
Cant wait to gett my Valkis from this year event.
My honorable mention for some of the best visuals and worst performance has to be the Dyson warbirds. It is the first ships I ever bought with money used to be a dill farmer. I am still holding out hope of it will one day get a we will see a seating of Commander Sci Commander tac/command, Lt Commander Universal, Ensign Universal and forget the changing modes. Yes it is an odd layout and you are losing a Lt seat to get a second commander power but it is an interesting idea

Wish I could get the lockbox Romulan ships, they’re utterly gorgeous. Maybe Mudd will grace us with their presence.. (and a 75% sale lol)
Oddly enough, the kelvin vanity shield looks good on the legendary T'liss.
IMHO: Valkis is the best looking ship in all of STO... just wish something as big as that had 13 consoles. It's like, "Hello little DaVinci MW class, what's that? you have more consoles that this massive mobile space station? How does that work?"

I don't need my boat in your top anything lists I just found it odd that the Kholhr isn't one of your top Romulan ships when it was one of your top C Store ships some vids ago. That video helped me get over buyers remorse over my first ship. I was concerned I bought a pretty ship that would end up as crap. It... is not crap. It's a fine ship... but I'd kill for a command seat, you know? Yeah yah know.

Hey Augie I noticed you don't have a review for the ship neither does SAB. But SAB uses it for the new isomags you use it for DEW or Torp builds. Just wondered why there wasn't in depth review especially with the current meta I think this would be the perfect time.
I am assuming you mean the Dhailkhina? At the time it was released I hadn't started doing review or news videos yet.
@@AugmentedDictatorGames yeah I mean the Dhailkhina. I didn't know that you hadn't started ship reviews yet. Although I think this would be a good platform to showcase Isomags and the Advanced Hangar consoles. You could do some parsing with different pets, the hanger consoles will probably make crappy pets decent.
Sad that the Kelvin timeline carrier didn't make the list... :(
not sure if you know, but in demorecord you can open the dev console and change fov to make ships fit
Yeah, but increasing the FOV makes them look too small, kinda defeating the purpose for screenshots.
Statwise, I think the stats for the Dhailkhina would be perfect for a Command Akira variant, just switch the Singularity Core for an Anti-Matter Warp Core.
Nice suggestion, if more propulsion system has advanced, darkmatter tech supply chain and manufacturing mega corporations would be expanding to neighboring constellations.
My main is a hodge-podge of the Kara advanced warbird AKA the Cyclops Owl. Command station, Vector separation, Hangar Bay, buncha' health, and a built in Death star laser. I couldn't ask for much more.
My #5 was the Rom Verne. Everything else was the same picks.
R'Mor science vessel? IMO the best Cryptic's design.

It's not a bad ship, especially appearance wise, but the Atlas outshone it in the original bundle by having the DPRM on it and the later/new Romulan ships, especially the legendary ones, definitely rise above the rest.
I mean no offensive to the designers, the Legendary Scimitar base skin is just disgusting. It looks assimilated and undine tumours way too spikey, doesn't look Romulan or Reman. I don't find that a nice ship.
The Legendary D'deridex could've had a Shield Inversion Beam tied to the tractor beam. They do it in TNG, several board games, Armada 1 and 2. Get all the benefits of a hold with shield regeneration based on enemy shield max. Huge missed opportunity to tie it in with the rest of the universes portrayal of the vessel.
I looked all through the store on Risa, and couldn't find any sign of that (Andorian) shield!!!

It is on the 10th place in the summer event store for 1k lohlunats.
Instead of looking at the vendors, hit ‘j’ and switch the the Events tab. You should see a store button in the lower left. Click that, and you get all-in-one-place list of summer and winter equipment. You should be able to find the new vanity shield in that unified store up at the top of the list with the other new stuff.
@@sadlerbw9 Yeah, it's there now,. it was was up when I checked on day 1 of the event, then taken down or glitched out at some point because I tried to get it last week and it was missing, and now it's back.
have to wonder if people would do a top 5 faction ships and exclude the legendary ships. just for those who do not spend that kind of cash for a box of s hips that you only want one or two of. my case only one legendary that I want. still not worth the cash.

But then I WATCHED the video...... I Thought of the d'dex as the only ship in the game..... For got about the Picard one, the movie one and the starter ship for the story......
I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions without actual facts....
3 legendary ships on the list plus Romulan-in-The-Box ones.
Don't worry guys, the devs said they would not make a Tier 7 version for the ships because they feel so sorry to make us all buy all our ships again with the implementation of the T6 ones. "By the way, guys. We have these new ships, that are basically your T6 ones, with extra stats, better weapon displacements, better traits, and better seating, and we will call them *"Legendary"* and put them behind a bigger paywall than regular C-Store ships. Isn't great?"

This is timely as I was looking on picking up a Romulan ship for my Romulan character. That being said, I absolutely hate the designs of just about everything that's come out of Star Trek Picard. The Romulan ships from this show are among the worst aesthetically speaking.
I love all three romulan ships from Picard, Dhailkhina, BoP refit and yet unnamed romulan bomber (I hope she will apperar in the game soon). If you hate them then I think you have bad taste lol.
@@tomasr. When I look at the one from the first season of Picard I don't get a good sense of its scale. When it appeared in the show I couldn't tell if I was looking at a small ship or a large one. Its lines are awkward to a point where I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Its as though it were random geometric shapes thrown together with very little thought. It looks like some drunk guy decided to make a paper airplane look like a Romulan ship and that's the closest he could get to one in his inebriated state. Looking at it in the game where you can get a better look at it didn't help much. I like a lot of the Romulan ship designs, I just don't care for the ones from that show.
