So good to hear that this beauty bank system is working well for you. 🎉 I’d say, it would be interesting to reset your points in January, so you can compare 2023 vs 2024 at the end of next year. But I also see the benefit of starting off next year with points in credit 🥰
I can see the benefits of starting over as well as keeping going. That's why I'm torn. Maybe if I don't start over, I can still keep track of how many points I earned this year vs next.
I love that this low buy system is working for you! I think at the start of the year, if you have points left over, roll over 5 points as a reward for ending the year in the positive. So many times with the points system, I see people start with way too many points and I personally think it defeats the whole point of a low buy. My Trick or Treat palette is coming in the mail today and I’m so excited to see it in person!
I think its a great idea to continue this beauty bank, if its working this well for you. I think its fair to kepp your point in the next year. You could also consider to take it up a notch and make it 3 out 1 in.
That's great that you are enjoying this system for your low buy. Only because you asked: Just based on what I've seen from other people, I would suggest just rolling in the last quarter's or last month's points for the new year, instead of all points. That gives you something to work with in the new year, but still limits what can come in. I'm excited to see what you decide!
I think bringing yourself back to 0 would super fun to see how well you can do next year. I'm for sure gonna try something, my collection is now a small Ulta😂
Hi Dannie I don’t see an issue with keeping your points as a cushion tbh - you earned them and it’s a continuation not a complete reset. You’ve shown willpower in not going mad all year, so no need to penalise yourself unnecessarily. I finished 12 beauty and one makeup item in September, so not too shabby either. I’m not on a low buy etc, but I’m keeping track of what I use up in a year this year. I don’t have a massive collection etc as I’m cautious in my purchases, but it has been interesting to see how much stuff I do use and what categories I really don’t have many empties in. Best wishes x
I think you should keep your balance for next year ! My birthday is this Sunday, I wonder what I will get. I never ask for makeup and never got some so we'll see !
Dannie I love your videos. You are thorough, enthusiastic, honest and amazing in that you use more product than anyone out there. I so appreciate that your moving away from plastic and have gone to bar soaps. I have to inquire, however, are you still trying to buy only cruelty free? The Tree Hut sugar scrubs that everyone is gag gag are not cruelty free. I was wondering if there is something out there to replace them? Perhaps something by Pacifica? Just wondering.. I stopped buying BBW and am trying to only buy cruelty free. I know the struggle to be mindful of that goal. Take care.
Oh, thank you so much! Tree Hut actually is a cruelty free brand, so you can purchase from them. 😊 They're listed as cruelty free on Logical Harmony and Cruelty-Free Kitty. I love their products and you get a good value for the money. I really enjoy their scrubs and their lotions.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what I should do! I completely agree that starting with a bunch of points can defeat the point of a low buy.

I think you should keep the points, as long as you aren’t making other changes, it would just be a continuation. 💕💕
That's true Shelley! It's definitely a continuation.

I say reset your points in january
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what I should do!
Your collection doesn't reset at the beginning of the year so why should your low-buy ? If you want just change the point system
That is such a great point that I hadn't thought about. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what I should do!
