loved this video...I'm one of those go 2-1 and I'm happy so I can draft again for free....I'm lucky if I get 2 trophies in a cube season but it's about the fun. Appreciate the insight.
To summarize: 1. Prioritize low cmc spells. This isn't a regular draft, where good cards are at a premium. There are going to be more big bombs in later picks, so focus on cheaper stuff first. 2. Take lands aggressively. Everyone is going to have amazing cards in their decks, so big differences are going to be felt in the quality of their mana bases. A lot of the best cards are going to have many colored pips in their casting costs, so you want to make sure you'll be able to cast them. (The mono color decks can get away without taking lands and this is one of the reasons they are so strong.) 3. Draft decks, not cards. This is something you should be doing anyway, but it's magnified in cube because you will be up against such powerful stuff that you will need your deck to be greater than the sum of its parts. This doesn't mean you need a complicated strategy, but you still need a strategy.
Does anybody know what happened with toplevelpodcast? if you know what happened please reply I'll check my youtube replies regularly looking for this answer.
Show Idea: Boomer Cube Cards Description: What cards that were once Cube Staples have been pushed out recently but people continue to put in their cubes or pick too highly in cubes? Idea came from watching Crokeyz play Arena Cube and he called Mulldrifter a "Boomer Magic Card" paraphrasing, he basically said, it might have been good in a video in 2004 but not anymore. At first I was offended, but I'm also not sure he is wrong.
if a cube is built well you should never be hurting for mana. never understood this. the more a cube rewards you for playing multicolor, the more the land base should reflect that. i people over correct all the time because all they do is prioritize lands. Also this podcast made me happy i dont view cube as a competitive format so much as a fun casual out of the box experience with my friends. ill never prioritize fucking ponder that highly haha.
What is it with Magic content creators saying, "archetype" without an entire syllable in there? I think because of that, I now hear people parroting it. It's ARK-EH-TYPE... three syllables! Oddly, Marshall was pronouncing it properly, while Luis was saying it like ARK-TYPE.
Cube is such a decadent and opulent way of playing magic and I love it

Is Marshall mispronouncing Toxrill or am I?
Yes
Marshall tends to know the correct pronunciation for cards, so I’d guess he’s doing it right.
@@westnlyguard I mean it is spelled tox-rill, not trox-ill

In arena I lost alot vs mono blue mill with billions of counterspells xD
This one's unbearable to watch, there's just too many ads. A shame
Haven't watched yet, let me take a guess:
1. Always draft blue
2, Always for storm
3. Never draft aggro
Nope.
Edit: Now I've watched. Still nope.
Hope LSV loses every game
