Everytime I listen to this era of music, I read the comments and feel like I'm the youngest person in the entire world who listens to this era of music. And I'm only 17
Yeah any time ya hear STEPPENWOLF , its a GOOD TIME. I got the THRILL to have the original Keyboard player- GOLDY McJOHN , sit in with my band several times. Singing Born To Be Wild and MAGIC CARPET and SOOKIE SOOKIE and all the others with him on organ, was BUCKET LIST for me.
Born with the oldies and then raised with the 90s music you never ever heard of I'm a minimal baby and today's music Is hip hop bet you don't eveb know what a minimal baby is do ya
I was born in ‘53. I listen to hip hop occasionally but when I do I listen to the lyrics over the music. The mid 60s to mid 70s were phenomenal- the cars, the psychedelics, long hair, sex, hitchhiking and all to the backdrop of listening to rock played on AM stations or vinyl. Such a pity that lifestyle has gone the way of the 8 track.
The late 60s and early 70s were a SUPER time for rock'n'roll !!! Thank you ❤️ for this great mix of music 🎶 !!! 👏 ✌️I remember listening to Spooky Tooth in the Hippie district of OKC in 1970. Paseo. The Yellow Submarine was a cool hang out. So was Mother's Rock Shop !!! They called us a "counter culture."
I also was born in 1953.And grew up in the Bay, Marin co And E.Okland.They say Hip Hop Came out of W . Oakland.I believe all music is great. In your own time..
Can someone explain hip hop to someone born in 1956...I don't want to be a drag about it but the question about its validity as an art form versus something like this music is begging to be brought to light...
Its still art. Like poetry. You put words together that make sense. Add rhytmic music to it and you get another form of music. Thus art. Some of the rappers know how to sing. Yet it is more difficult for vocals and they dont Come from country roads. Hip hop is more agressive. Fits their environment more.
Man the voice sounds familiar but I could not find it under I Feel Fine or How Do You Feel. Those were the obvious choices. So must have been a different name than that. Great call though.
Don’t be like the people of Bethel when; “They refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears. They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that Yahweh Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So Yahweh Almighty was very angry.” (Zechariah chapter seven)

[Intro]
Yeah, I'm gonna tell my tale come on, uh come on, ha...a give a listen
[Verse 1]
'Cause I was born lonely down by the riverside
Learned to spin fortune wheels and throw dice
I was just thirteen when I had to leave home
Knew I couldn't stick around, I had to roam
[Verse 2]
Ain't good lookin', but you know I ain't shy
Ain't afraid to look you girl, hey, in the eye
So if you need some lovin', and you need it right away
Take a little time out, and maybe I'll stay
[Chorus]
But I got to ramble (Ramblin' Man)
Gamble (Gamblin' Man)
Got to, got to ramble (Ramblin' Man)
I was born a Ramblin', Gamblin' Man
Yeah, uh, say, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hah, hah
A bring it on, come on now
Yeah, alright, here we go now, now
[Verse 3]
Now, I'm out of money, 'cause you know I need some
Ain't gon' run on lovin', and I must run
Gotta keep movin', never gonna slow down
You can have your funky world, see you 'round
[Chorus]
'Cause I got to ramble (Ramblin' Man)
I got to gamble (Gamblin' Man)
Yeah I, I got to ramble (Ramblin' Man)
Lord, I'm a Ramblin', Gamblin' Man
[Outro]
Oh! I'm just a rambler
Yeah! And I'm just a gambler
Come on and sing along
'Cause I'm just a rambler (Ramblin' Man)
Yeah, Lord I'm a gambler (Gamblin' Man)
I'm a rambler (Ramblin' Man)

Amen
In the 1960s, each song with a story has left a distinctive impression. But rock driving wasn't dead. Rock rules the world.🐪
