I’m going with black/ mallard hybrid. We shoot several in Maine every year. Some look more black, some more mallard. My question is what does it count as toward your limit? Black, mallard, or “other duck”?
We run a variety of calls and hunt a lot of different types of scenarios. I, Jon like the Daisy Slayer from RNT because you can get loud and really soft with it. Some of the other guys really like the JJ Lares hybrid for the same reason. It is nice to have something that you can do both with. For a less expensive route the LMC Sheductress is a nice sounding double reed call. Thanks for watching and good luck hunting!

Young drake mallard. An old hen with drake colors would still have a hen colored bill
