I purchased this watch a 6 weeks ago, with another bulova and a seiko. I haven't been able to sport the other two yet, as this watch is so beautiful I don't want to take it off. It gets lots of compliments and interest, I love it!!
This watch looks fantastic and I'm going out to buy one tomorrow. My 8 1/2'' inch wrist is perfect for it. Thank you Bulova for making real watches for real men.
Thanks for the informative video!. The dial is the star of the watch. I was trying to find out if the Miyota movement had a hacking feature and yours cleared that out!
Ive made it a point to not buy any watch over $300-350 without a sapphire crystal. There is zero reason a watch at almost $500 is using mineral glass or Seiko and their Hardlex when $175 micro brands are giving sapphire. I just bought the Long Island Watch ISL-16 Aviator for $150 that has Sapphire.
I agree. Sometimes I just get the feeling that Citizen doesn't want Bulova to succeed and overshadow their own product line. Probably wrong, but just get that feeling...
I purchased the brown "root beer" on the bracelet in June. It's getting more wear than any other watch in my collection. It was inexpensive enough that I can wear it as a daily, but it always looks classy with that high polish. Fits my 7.5" wrist perfectly.
Bulova makes some great looking watches, but every time I take an interest in one they have mineral glass crystals. I'm not paying $500 for a watch with mineral glass unless I'm buying it for something other than beauty.
I agree to an extent. Seiko is the same way, hardlex unless you're going to spend $800 and up. Still, I like it so much and for so many reasons, I bought it and still have it! 😁
I don't know what it is about bulova. I bought the tank sutton white Dial. Lovely watches but for me they fall short somehow, in the case of the sutton it just a bit thick and doesn't need to be and also nowhere does the packaging referr to it as a sutton, just Bix with a watch in it. A bit like sekonda are with quartz. Look great but somethings missing. Bulova should stick to their tuning fork movement as it lifts them above other brands. Putting on nh or myota movements just puts them on a par with pagani and steel dive and a thousand others that cost much less.
Bulova is owned by Citizen so they are restricted as to what movements they put in their watches. Only the Swiss made models have non Miyota movements. Like you, I find Bulova designs very attractive!
It isn't a vintage watch my friend. It is a modern take on a vintage watch. 36mm watches aren't selling to the average consumer in this category. If you are looking for smaller watches in this price point ($150-$500), Timex and Orient are the way to go.

Agree wholeheartedly!

That is one stunning looking watch. Beautiful. Now I have to consider one grrrrrrrr !!!
Great looking watch-reminds me of PAN AM 707'S.
excellent review, Sir!
Beautiful watch, Just picked one up on sale. I paid $400 AUD, it was $100 off. I would also prefer sapphire crystal, but its still worth a buy imo.
Thanks for the informative video!. The dial is the star of the watch. I was trying to find out if the Miyota movement had a hacking feature and yours cleared that out!
Agree, it's a very handsome dial! I was glad the upgraded Miyota movement included hand winding and hacking too!
Must have it!
Just bought this watch online. Gotta wait 3 to 6 days to see it.
Congrats! I like mine and still wear it!
Beautiful watch 🎉
Thanks!
I ordered the same watch, how many days does the mechanism work if you don't wear it?
Power reserve for that movement is 42 hours so less than 2 days.
Always worth waiting a bit before buying just got one for $200 on sale
Gloating is bad... 😉
@@watchit5985 Ha ha what's the saying never be the first to buy
@@maddogmorgan1 I confess...the beautiful blue dial called to me and I was powerless to resist! 😁
Hi. Is that a Miyota movement?
Yes, it is. It's a Miyota caliber 8217.
Excellent review. You may of said already, is the crystal mineral or plastic?
It is double domed mineral glass. For the money, it should have been sapphire, in my humble opinion.
I just got mine for 150 USD, looks great for the price
Well bought, sir! A great deal!
Esta muy bonita su esfera.

I like the brown dial version on stainless steel bracelet.
The "root beer" version is indeed very nice!

Bulova clearly gives a lot of watch for the dollar. Seiko had better watch out.
I think the Miyota movements are better than Seiko's at this level.
I second the Sapphire Boo. No way a $450 watch doesn’t have sapphire crystal.

It's a lovely looking watch but a bit too much at £299 with no sapphire & a Miyota 8 series movement.
Well, it depends. I love the watches from that era and I think this one is beautifully executed. It's not always about the specification, you know! 😉
True and I agree but man that dial pushes the negatives aside for me. I am going to get one.
Good looking watch. But too small for my taste.. but nice 👌
Out of curiosity, what size range is more to your taste?
@@watchit5985 around 44mm or 45mm
@@mrbx79 there's certainly a lot of options at that size. Most modern divers are about that.
41mm is too big for a vintage dress watch.

once agian another large watch like invicta thats to big. bulova wake up the big watch days are over...
41 is big? Maybe for some but not for my 7” wrist.
