- To celebrate Kirby's 30th anniversary, now is the good time for looking at the past collection from Kirby's 20th Anniversary back in 2012 on the Wii.
This collection first released in Japan on July 19th 2012, then later in America on September 16th 2012, It was never released in Europe or Australia at all.

@@mr.incognitoyt2235 US version is alright, but Japanese one does include extra history things, like manga and a Kirby Gambling Machine to view, it even has Kirby’s Super Star Stacker (1999) but doesn’t have Kirby’s Avalanche (1995), while US version removes the mangas, some pictures and the gambling machine but does add the Gourmet Race to Green Greens music orchestra video.
So I’d say both versions are worth a go if you can either import a copy or find an iso online.

3:33 I love how Kirby eventually just stops and goes "screw that". Like, he'll try to eat literally anything, but gold statues not even bolted to the ground are where he draws the line.
What’s even funnier is that Kirby has no problem holding in a giant gold coin and swallowing what seems to be tons of gold blocks in the intro, but a statue is to much for him, he don’t want to get hurt by the sharp edges
Compare this to the Super Mario "Anniversary" release that was just SMAS stamped onto a disc - HAL shows far more respect to their legacy than Nintendo.

Heck this is even better than super Mario 3D All Stars. It looks like we found one thing Mario can never beat Kirby at: anniversary games.

Nintendo's the one who is selling $60 unfinished, half baked, soulless cash grabs like mario striker's battle league and Nintendo switch sports, giving these games "free updates" which is really just the rest of the game. HAL on the other hand gave us Kirby in the forgotten land, a complete game with a great amount of content in it. HAL takes care of the Kirby franchise very well. They experimented with Kirby star allies, and tried their hardest to fix the game.

Surprised that Harry Potter is even mentioned in a Nintendo game when Warner is the owner of Harry Potter, not Nintendo.

Something about this just makes me want Nintendo to make a 30th anniversary version of this collection.
I think they should, but we don’t know if they’re gonna do that or just stick to Forgotten Land and Dream Buffet as the 30th anniversary.
We just have to wait and see.

Gotta love when looking through the history of games, the developers even mentioned the Virtual Boy. But the best part is they added gameplay footage and even the box art for all the games! Congratulations for getting a lot of views on this video!

My brother bought this when he was younger and its such an amazing anniversary package.
In the Japanese version it even chronicles the Japanese exclusive content such as super star stacker, slot machines and the manga. Though kind of a shame they didn't use all of the Return to Dream Land abilities for New Challenge Stages but what can you do I guess?

You know this game actually spoiled me HEAVILY when it came to game collections. Like an entire interactive gallery showing off, Kirby's history at that point as well as the important events that happened during those times, the brand new magalor challenges, short demo videos of all the games including those that didn't make into the collection proper, and even 3 episodes of the anime possibly the only time I've ever seen a game collection not only acknowledge the franchises anime but even let you watch it too. Anytime a massive collection comes out I always use this as the gold standard to compare them to. Which is why I hope if a pokemon collection ever comes out this what they'd take inspiration from.
Now a days, anniversaries for franchises, there’s either a edited UA-cam video, a blog post, rushed remakes or a new entry that you knew that it was still gonna release that year no matter what

This is truly amazing. The dedication that HAL had showed for Kirby is incredible. They included challenge stages, past titles, and history of the Kirby series. Not only that, they went out of their way to include major historical events that took place in the years that were featured. The best anniversary game to ever exist!

I wished they chose Outer Rings for Kirby’s Epic Yarn. That song was an absolute banger.
When I was younger, my dad had hacked/modded my Wii and this was one of the games on it.
Unfortunately, none of the games worked as far as I can remember, so I spent most of my time in the Challenge Mode (i think?) and rewatching the three Kirby anime episodes on there.
The thumbnail just screams “IT’S ONE OF MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS!!”
This was way better then the single jpeg of the strictly switch/wiiu/3ds games in Forgotten Lands.
Well, yeah, it should be better. This is celebrating 20 years of Kirby whereas what we see in Forgotten Lands is basically an ad saying "Hey, if you like this game, try out these other Kirby games!"
There are many interesting differences between the US and Japan !
True, mostly the games list in the history and there are mangas and other Kirby media never released in the US and Europe. The new challenges also have a circle in tutorials instead of a tick/checkmark. And of course, the games themselves are different versions (but that’s obvious).
I hope someday Nintendo make another version of kirby's dream collection but with more things

Leaning with Kirby and history of us
The design and content of game cassettes differ between Japan and other countries. For example, it was written about Obama, but that was not in the Japanese version. Also, the only gold statues in the Japanese version were the first Kirby's. I had never seen the last image that looked like an orchestra. Thanks for the valuable video.

Watching your video I just subscribed. I wish I picked up Kirby dream collection before cov hit :(. Great video I have a channel too but I haven’t figured out how to record like you.
To record stuff from a console like me and other UA-camrs, you need to have a capture card (I recommend one with two HDMI slots so you can see the game your playing on two screens) and you’ll need a screen recorder in order to record (I use OBS)
If you want to do commentary on gameplay videos like this you will also need a microphone (the higher quality, the better).
There are videos on UA-cam on how to setup capture cards and microphones, I recommend following one of them plus they also give out the best ones to use too.
Also note that, if your PC is lower than 16GB of RAM, then 60FPS won’t work properly too, I recommend having a PC with a 16GB RAM or more to record at that framerate, otherwise you’ll have to record in 30FPS (which isn’t that big of a deal for most older games, but for newer games you may want the upgrade).

Home Alone 2 was released in 1992 actually.
And in 2000 (well obviously PlayStation is not Nintnedo console but Sony's)... PlayStation 2 were launched. But this same goes with 1999 where in US SpongeBob premiered on Nickelodeon, and in Japan One Piece premiered on Fuji TV. I could know that Luffy voice actor is also voice Kirby, but i think from what i know is some kind on Nintnedo VHS story thing.
I'm very sad that this collection was not issued in Europe.

That's not dumb. It just means you had the opportunity to deep dive into the world of Kirby with a plethora of games at your fingertips. It's almost like picking up Stephen King's Dark Tower series now, instead of back in the old days when we had to wait decades for a sequel.

I wonder how you recorded this. On an emulator? How did you remove the button inputs? Or did you use any requirement to connect your consoles to the TV and computer?
I used a capture card, with HDMI ports for the console and to the TV, along with a USB port to connect to PC and recorded it in OBS.
That’s how I record gaming capture now, instead of using an awful camera directly to the screen like my very first old videos.

OBS is a downloadable software for PC that lets you record and film anything off of your PC, you can find video tutorials online about how to setup OBS.
And yes, OBS is completely free.

Only game not mentioned is Kirby Super Star Stacker, but I think that's mentioned in the Japanese collection. Also, for 2009 when they mentioned the solar eclipse, It was beaten by the one in 2017 I think
That’s correct about the Kirby’s Super Star Stacker part, the Japanese version does have that game on the 1999 section (despite it first releasing in 1998).
Never knew about the Solar Eclipse.

Yes, the descriptions are in the actual game, even non-Nintendo related ones like “first Harry Potter book published in UK” and “16-year old successfully climbed Mount Everest”.

Japanese descriptions do show different events that happened over the years instead of International related ones.
This collection wasn’t released in Europe or Australia at all, but I guess if it was released in PAL regions then the descriptions might have some differences there too (we don’t know for sure though).

They did wrong in 2002, his anime was released in 2001
2001 was the Japanese anime release, 2002 was the English (4Kids dub) anime release.
