Woop woop!
Ty
Monika is one of the most interesting artists I’ve came across recently, she’s got a lovely charisma about her, childlike silliness but mature and graceful at the same time. Not to mention a voice like melted chocolate that I can never tire of… I’m in awe of her she’s so cool
She may not win, but if she reaches the final there is a potential audience for this music, I'm sure.
Also, she oozes charm.
Totally. Agree.
"It feels adult." I think this is the best description about this song if you can say only 1 thing.
Lithuania is giving me what Belgium was giving last year. Very mature, polished and professional. Not everyone is gonna like it but you can't deny the quality of the entry
so you're saying they gonna be last 😂
reminder: Lithuania gave 2 points out of 3 they got... Irony!
I totally agree with this comment. And I love this song… even though Lolita Zero would have been more memorable, this is classy. I think it’ll place higher than “Wrong Place”. It’s got a James Bond theme song vibe to it.
@@UtamagUta The Wrong Place didn't come last!! I think it should be appreciated and that would be by qualifying and placing high (at least with the juries)
@@andrepisco6144 i was mean, i do owe an oppologise. I actually liked that song and voted for it
Only thing that wasn't mature about Belgium was that guy who tried to boycott all the group Eurovision moments.
If the performance is right, and every indication is that she loves the stage, then this could be a real surprise.
For me is the Winner of everything this Eurovision year!!!
Agree!!!
My favourite song so far
So adult, so sofisticated and SOOO classy!
My personal winner
This deserves to win
This song gives me chills gives me brividi
I am going to say this!! WE NEED THIS IN THE FINAL!!
I totally agree, and it is definitely worthy of getting a top ranking. One of my definite favourites this year, good luck to Lithuania from Norway, this is brilliant! 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Proof that some Americans absolutely do get Eurovision.
I like the way you comment and subscribed 🙂
Monika Liu said that they are going to release a 9-minute version of "Sentimentai" on her next album. I'm so here for it.
OMG really?!?!?! Wow then I know a new song for my falling asleep playlist🤗🤗
Oh WOW :-)
One of my absolute favourites this year, it's so cool 😍👍🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
WHY is this so damn catchy? Cant stop listening to and watching this masterpiece.
i am SO GLAD you love this. my winner
I am loving the fact that you loved this song. This is the first time in Eurovision history when I am not worrying at all about what our country has sent and I have complete trust in Monika.
I don’t think you needed to have had to worry about the Roop. They were fantastic and did well
@@Ploppy1812 I agree that they did well. However I was a bit worried for them before the contest last year. I am not worried at all somehow when it comes to Monika.
monika liu is even better than the roop and she already won my heart for trying something completely fresh and risky! don't worry about the results! she can be top 10 and she can NQ and it's so exciting to find out how it'll turn out in may... your country is doing amazing!
I love it, it's absolutely brilliant ✌😍👍
Good luck to you from Norway 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Your comments are fantastic. Monika is an artist, not everyone is going to be at awe of her but no one can deny her talents. I personally love a singer who can act - it's the full package, you know? She tells a story on stage. I hope she will be appreciated as the gem she is.
That part!
This song is absolutely brilliant and definitely one of my favourites this year. I will be both very surprised as well as incredibly disappointed if this doesn't do well in Turin and goes through to the final. Wishing Lithuania all the best from Norway. Good Luck! 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Monika Liu - is The sound of beauty :)
phrase,stoled from wiwiblogs review :)))
So well produced. Such a gem
Yes!
I'm so glad you like it. It's so mature, professional and lovely. I hope it won't get killed in the televote because it's too subtle.
This song grew on me so so much
Ever since I have listened to it I have been mesmerised. This song has a timeless vibe and also an immediate impact vibe. Winner potential for sure if they manage to take everyone off-guard.
Really hope they keep it in Lithuanian 🇱🇹❤️
You need to do an interview with her, she is an amazing artist.
YES!
It interesting to talk with Monika Liu.
Agree!!!
This is my favourite entry by far this year (so far..)!! This is such a gem and Monika is so captivating
It’s classy !
That was a very precise, deep and professional reaction. Thank you.
Thank you so much! :-)
I have a feeling that she’ll do well with the national juries. Let’s see what happens in May!!!
#fingerscrossed
Nice reaction! Thanks. Kiss from Klaipėda, Lithuania! :) *
This is a winner potential alesia dont be afraid to say it hahaha even eurovision public doesnt see it right know
I know that doesnt exist a big vocal moment
But the vibe of this song is suvh fenomenal
The really sound of beauty
Omg we have the winner of eurovision 2022
It gives me full on 70's vibe and I absolutely love it ❤
I’m so happy you like it, most fans are really underrating this very good quality entry from Lithuania!
It's stunning and one of my absolute favourites this year. In the top 3 for me, so far! Good luck to Lithuania from Norway 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Queen. I love everything about this. My fav so far
This is my favorite song so far this year. A lot of layers and textures. The mix of retro of late 90's early 00's. It gets better with each listen
It's got a full on 70's retro vibe in my opinion, and I absolutely love it!
I love this so much! Her performance is mesmerizing. Even though not a lot is happening on stage, you can't take your eyes off her. I am so happy that The Roop was not just an exception for Lithuania. They'll continue to slay at the ESC!
The Lithuanian Voila! I want Black Mamba style black and white to colour staging.
Oop!
I love this entry. I wasn’t sure when I heard it but when you see it live, she really brings it to life. Plus she’s magnetic, she draws the eye to her. It’s currently one of my favourites.
I find it reminding me of some 70s/80s Soviet era music, which is interesting.
She said staging for Eurovision will be changed.. So let's she what she will bring, but she is definitely so classy and elegant ✨✨
Currently she's at my second spot right after Italy..
The fact that i like it soo much already and she said she will change EVERYTHING in Turin is just 🔥💯🔥
I really like this, it’s so classy. Very excited to see her new staging (as she said she is going to change it all for the Eurovision stage)
i really hope this will somehow finally get to the audiences too... it deserves to be very high, it's so elevated and exquisite in esthetic
What a performer, she really elevates an already good song. It's retro in a good way, jazzy, polished, elegant, and it's going to do well.
Great reaction as usual Alesia ❤️
I'm crying. Winner of Eurovision 2022 or top 5 in the final. This is wonderful, gold and professional. She looks like performance from The Oscars. She is singing about the feeling about sentiments, love, which will never come back from The Baltic sea and see birds and wawing to them... Lyrics are very good. Lithuanian language is very beautiful. By the way, she finished Barcley at United States :) The song is written by Monika Liu and Miles James from UK. It is modern and unique and reminds me old style in Lithuania songs 70 s and very jazzy.
:)
Love this and her. She has said she is completely changing the staging for Eurovision and that she would like to move more on the ESC stage.
All countries want to win Eurovision Song Contest this year
It saddens me that eurofans (predictably) underrate this entry 😭
If we are honest: Younger ESC fans dont know anything about music. They call EVERY ballad boring....
Is that really happening? I don't watch other reactions.
@@AlesiaMichelle yep. I've seen others say they don't like it, and on average rank it 8-7th between the 13 songs we have.
@@johana7021 And they call every mid-tempo song a ballad :D
@@johana7021 I'm not young. I love ballads. I don't like this one. It's boring to me and it grinds my gears that people are comparing her to Salvador. It's not on my bottom but It's definitely on the low-middle range.
So good! With the Roop last year and this for 2022, makes me wonder if Lithuania is becoming an Eurovision force to be reckoned with. This is really well done and it will definitely stand out from the crowd. I'm certain this will qualify and end up left side of the scoreboard.
Thats what i call good and constructive reaction, others should learn from you how to do this properly
Love Monika, she is lithuanian Diva 🇱🇹
Waiting Monika Liu and Alesia Michelle interview video!!! I think you are in the same soul:)
Can't understand a lick of it (without help from our collective friend, Google Translate) but because she's so mesmerizing and hypnotic you really don't care. I totally agree about winner potential... Love the retro 70's vibes... Cool, crisp, sexy and slinky... Kinda what Kylie Minogue's last and next album should sound like... Keep up the good commentary, btw! Love from Canada!
3 months till the Eurovision Song Contest 2022
She is lithuanian Adele, very pro 💖
Love this! So classy and elegant. Pure quality singing with the mysterious 1950s spirit haunting 21st century woman at night vibe. A little bit more changes in staging and adding a climax would really help to elevate this. But as the singer said: everything will be changed, she pulled this off alone without a team! ♥️🇱🇹
I would say 1970's vibe/spirit, more so than 1950's. But either way, it's superb and an absolute gem, I love it! Definitely one of my favourites this year and I'm wishing Lithuania good luck from Norway 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Thank you! She's now more in to Jazz. She also sings in English.
I'm Lithuanian. This verry classy song. You have to interpret the lyrics to understand the song.
Knock knock knock - she can't sleep, thinking about him. Her heart rate is crazy.
She sees a loved one in horror sleep. He is like a clown laughing at her crying yes.
Moments are spinning in her head, She remebers a gift of million roses - everything vanishes in a sea of clouds.
He drowned.
The only thing that remains of him is BLACK FOAM from the COLD sea and MEMORIES standing in the middle of dunes of Nida
and waiving to a seagull
so far, far away...
I loved it immediately without understanding a single word. It is absolutely brilliant and a rare gem! 😍👍
One of my absolute favourites this year, and in my top 3, easily! Good luck to you from Norway 🇧🇻💞🇱🇹
Alesia, thank you for such a sweet & encouraging reaction 💛💚❤️
You tended to be quite down on Lithuania and our selection in the past, it really warms my heart to see all the compliments you had for us this time!!!
Vilnius 2023
Kaunas* 🤭
Ačiū🥰
Thanks for amazing reaction! If you want to see more of Monika I suggest to check out Monika Liu - Tiek jau to (Live) (Sapiens Music). Such an amazing voice!
Thank you for your review! I got a feeling this might be a tune that will grow with time for many people that aren't wooed by it immediately
I personally loved this from the moment it started. It's absolutely amazing and one of my definite favourites this year. It's so incredibly good! 😍👍
She finished Berklee, ofc it's jazzy! :D
Thanks 👍👍👍
Greetings from Lithuania 🇱🇹🤗
I love it honestly. It is giving me fun, old-timey spy movie 1970s retro. Her ad libs with the mic are fun. Her stage presence is crazy good. She seems to captivate you because she is just having fun on stage.
I love her song and performance already. I want her to be appreciated enough at ESC and this IS full package for me like Chanel but different. slight improvements at staging and this gem will be pearl in the crown. I would love to see how lights on the stage are playing around her , while she is singing in the center point of the stage. I would love to see small break when the backup singers are singing and she interacts with audience (or dancer/dancers). Personally , I think she needs to be exposed , she should be center of the stage , and things should be happening around her. I would love to see her emerging from the bottom of the stage on round spiral stairs but I am not sure if this is even possible and if this is even good idea.
12 points från Sverige till Monika ❤️
@Alesia Michelle your intuition is correct about the jazzy feeling. Monika studied Jazz and Vocal at Berklee College.
I adooore the 1920s style
I'm so in love with this song ❤❤ i'm out of words , incredible performance , voice of Monika so magical, just wanna dance non stop , over and again ❤❤ Lithuania will shock the world this year again ❤❤❤
I wanna see how you dance on this music... 🤣🙃
This song is so phenomenal! I would love to see mooooore sparkles on the dress, some Swarovski maybe ;) and they need to keep the backless! It’s so beautiful!
Sentiments
Knock knock knock
At night is knocking at my heart
Full of longing
Accompanied by memories
A ghost
You, it's you, it's you
A face seen long ago
Why are you laughing like a clown
At my shining eyes?
Moments are spinning in a circle in my head,
they're running where you are
A million roses like sentiments
are drowning in the sea of clouds
Ah...
Restless sea is rustling
I have tears in my eyes
That's it - he's never gonna come back
He arrived as a black foam*
I remember how I'm standing in the middle of dunes of Nida
and waiving to a seagull
so far, far away...
Moments are spinning in a circle in my head
they're running where you are
A million roses like sentiments
are drowning in the sea of clouds
The best song. Somthing different. 🇱🇹💕
I understand what you say about an electro revamp , that would give a stronger Portishead vibe. I wish it touched a bit of FKA Twigs territory. That elevated current trip hop vibe would be a certifed qualifier.
It's like Salvador Sobral Portugal 2017,and Barbara Pravi France 2021
Agree and Lithuania will get the best result.
It is nothing like them. I don't even compare Barbara and Salvador as they have very different styles. Not every ballad is in the same genre as the other. But this one does not reach the quality of Barbara and Salvador.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Greetings from Vilnius :)
🇱🇹❤️
💛💚❤
Check out her minialbum Melodija for 4 more tracks in similar vibe. She is amazing, the background in Berklee College of Music really shines here (in composition and performance of this)
💖💖💖
Thank you
The mirroring part is very 70s retro. In Eastern Europe terms maybe it relates to that period more.
Could this do a Black Mamba and surprise everybody in May? I totally see it.
YES... but honestly I think this will be more a Hooverphonic moment. Not so much a surprise but a track for the grown ups.
Hey Alesia, love your reactions! Will you be reviewing the American Song Contest?!
Más 924 is the designer of the dress ;)
Relaxs.
Let's hope she gets a good position to sing in the semifinals so this song won't drown between to upbeat songs. The best would be if she sings last in the semifinal just before the televoting starts but I guess that's a bit much to ask for.
"i have one note"... Exactly its a little ONE NOTE. I love it, but it needs a couple changes to make it pop and the last third needs more energy. Totally agree on the electro sounds too.... Ill say i would mind a wet Hairstyle to update the look
👍👍👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💋
some sounds remind me of James Bond movie soundtracks from 1962 (Dr. No)
l'm not that keen o this one but i guess that's a matter of personal tastes but she translates the song very well by the styling and setting making you believe she's singing this wondering about the jazz clubs around the word.
That style is spooky disco
“Lithuanian marathon”? Excuse me? There are overall 6 shows since 2020 when we changed our format, the same amount of shows like Melodifestivalen. Last year it was even shorter. Due to less songs submitted and covid restrictions
Monika Liu - Vaikinai trumpais šortais
😍 I hope this song qualify to the final but I doubt 🙄😬
Here's a rough translation for the non-native speakers, It's a shame english doesn't do the song justice:
Tuk, tuk-tuk
Knocking in the night on my heart
Full of longing
Accompanied by memories
Spirit
You, It‘s you, it‘s you
Oh long seen face
Why are you laughing like a clown
At my glittering eyes?
Moments are going round in my head
Running, running to the place you are
A million roses like sentiments
Drowning in a sea of clouds
The restless sea is raging
There are tears in my eyes
That‘s it, he will never be back
He returned as black foam
I remember standing in the middle of Nida‘s dunes
And waving to a seagull
Far, far away
Moments are going round in my head
Running, running to the place you are
A million roses like sentiments
Drowning in a sea of clouds
💚💚💚💚💚💪💪💪🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹
She reminds me of Liza Minelli, maybe it's the styling.
i like eurovision that you never know who will win. In past years winners were very different and i also really like crazy and weird performance too. Just sweet sugar sometimes is too much, need some salt and pepper 😃
