Comedian Scott Aukerman: I'm On A Sold Out Tour Yet Nobody Has Heard Of Me | Squawk Box | CNBC
It's weird to see Scott Aukerman being somewhat straightforward and serious.
Talk Straightforwardman.
Not Beatingaroundthebushman
Jeanjacketman
I wonder how he juggles work and family.
lol
CNBC getting that CBB bump
It's real.
Hearing PFT, Scott and Lapkus talking about nothing for a few minutes is literally funnier than any mainstream comedy being made right now.
YES!
THREEEEEDOM
Sprinkle in a little Gino and Zuks, and top it off with some Dom DeMelo (for the daddies), and you've got yourself some fine internet radio.
I haven't listened to Threedom yet because... I'm scared it will be not as funny if Lauren and Paul aren't doing characters. I want characters!
K. PacificNW 8 months later - if you haven’t listened yet, Threedom is one of the best things. It’s very funny, but it also gets really touching and wholesome at times. It’s fantastic.
Success in comedy is not reflected in talk show appearances or website 'clicks'. The lasting and meaningful number is Kulaps. Scott has earned a perfect rating of one Kulap. No one else is even close.
yep!
This interview feels like an alternate universe.
i dont disagree, but im curious what makes you say that
I really wanted to know how he balances work and family. Disappointed that they didn't ask that.
I just wanted to hear if Scott ever pulls pranks on set.
He wouldn’t have been able to answer it, someone would have walked in and thickened the plot
I wanted to know if he was a tree, what kind of tree would he be?
And when did he first hear of U2
I wanted to know if he would rather take a long road trip with his family, or have dreadlocks that could speak?
Surprised they didn't ask.
Stop Awkwardman is really a grounded and intelligent ambassador to the scene. Happy to see him on these kind of shows.
I love how when they ask him "Can you really make money doing this?" Scott actually gives them a practical answer, WITH A NUMBER. Everyone else you've ever heard would answer this question with some gobbledygook answer. "Oh, if you're dedicated, if you put your heart in it, don't worry about the money, the money comes eventually..." blah blah blah. Scott's answer "You get thirty thousand hits and someone will pay to advertise." Bam!
Yeah, also cool because we always see him in a performer/comedian/writer role, but like he said, he also started a podcast network from the ground up and obviously has an incredible businessman side. It's cool to see that portrayed here.
Yeah, but this was an appearance on a business network, and he was speaking with Andrew Ross Sorkin. He’s in the spot because he has real answers to questions about the business end.
Aukerman was also at the forefront of successfully monetizing his podcast network. EarWolf + Midroll were responsible for the advertising placement in podcasts that we now take for granted. There was a time when if you wanted your podcast to make actual money through sponsors, the only way was through Midroll.
Squawk Boxerman.
Box Squawkerman
i am so insanely happy to see him mention paul and lauren cause they are ABSOLUTE COMEDY GOLD.
Me too! They rule
💯
When he gave Lauren and Paul a shoutout I teared up.
Scott should have mentioned his good friend Jeffrey Characterwheaties
I love his Jason Mantzoukas character, such great acting to stay in character like that all the time!
The egg allergy was genius.
News Anchorman
It's pronounced "Shart Spockerman".
Pod Sponsership
PAUL AND LAUREN GETTIN THAT CBB BUMB BABY
Sara R... you say baby to?
CBB Baby Bump. That CBB Baby Bump, Baby!
Commenting on a video that is over 3 years old; Scott Auckerman thank you so deeply.
The work he does is beyond important for uplifting humanity. I am someone who works with 10 developmentally disabled adult clients per week, making chicken scratch for wages, who looks for every reason to stay positive in the current world we live in. Scott's podcast and the incredibly talented comedians he has on his show are, and I say this with the most profound amount of sincerity, one of the most uplifting aspects of my weekly routine. It's honestly a blessing that his work isn't more popular because I feel his vision would be distorted by the media machine, that you CNBC are unfortunately cogs of.
I wish they asked Scott a good question like “when did you first hear REM”
Why is Bought Stockerman being so serious here?
I could listen to Scott talk about the biz for hours. I love how the hosts seem super interested in Scott's supreme knowledge of something that's totally foreign to them!
Scott is so pro, really well spoken.
Which is why Squawk box is the most watched wall street show by far, not just because they do have the most up to date info on what the market is doing, but because they have the best journalists and interviewers BY FAR out of any network or finance show.
I wonder if he asked the hosts what number they are on the call list.
Was this hosted by Sean and Hayes? "Remember when you said talkshow? Speak on that."
The key is content, got to have that sweet content, baby
Victor Mmmhmm...gotta push out that 'tent
Gotta be slingin' that 'tent
Victor you say baby too
I'm so late to the game on this but it's awesome to see Scott in the real world just straight up plugging PFT and Lauren lapkus. Good on you man more people need to know.
Now Lauren gets tons of jobs.
I typed in "Hot Saucerman" and this was the first result.
Wow seeing him all serious like this its been a while
Y-It's been-
He's super polite
Heynong man.
TechnicalityNoDownBooOver
He's brought me so many laughs on Comedy Bang Bang. I just love him.
CNBC just got the CBB Bump!
what a great friend scott is.
This man is a living legend.
Scotty Aux name-dropping Paul and Lauren is so wholesome. THREEDOM!
Thanks for all rhe great content, Scotty Aucks!!!!
scotts a real one for shouting out lauren and paul
who is this guys. Where is Hot Saucerman
Nice to see the comments, devoted audience like hes described
Birth of threedom is the tour he’s talking about and of course they both get shout outs! Great interview I enjoy hearing him speak so seriously and it is weird to think how insular this community is. It seemed like a snide remark but people really have no idea who he is, and I’m surprised they’ve never heard of PFT he really is one of the greatest stand ups ever and easily one of the best improvisers
Was hoping to hear some love for Matt Besser, John Gemberling, Jon Gabrus, Mary Holland, Kyle Dunnigan... I guess the list never ends.
Sean Gentry Who's Kyle Dunnigan
Sean Gentry Also Besser hasn't been on CBB in years, he's got his own successful thing
love comedy bang bang, brutally honest
Scotty Talkerman telling the truth...
Listening to Scott talk like this about comedy makes me think that CBB world should do a podcast on the history of comedy and improv in the popular culture.
What a random thing to just pop up on my youtubes from 5 years ago.
Love Scott Auckerman!
All joking a salad
heynongman
reset
This clip should just play on cnbc 24/7
PAUL EFF TOMPKINS
hey it's Hot Soccermom
Hot Soccermom hitting good points.
Talk Showerman
Paul F Tompkins is the best jukebox.
I like that guy, he's a Top Mocker-man.
Scott I came to watch this interview as soon as I found out you had were on 3 years ago!
Niche Lyfe
H&R Blockerman
Look it up Scotty look it up *clap clap*
I'm only here to see the bus with a DOOM ad on it.
A Tinnis lol Yes!
I love him on Comedy Bang Bang
Wow, CBB started with 2k listeners, amazing. Best podcast ever. Earwolf is great.
Love this
Didn't expect to see Skull Crossbonesman on here
I’m just happy Scott is financially secure tbh
I wish news people covered politics like this. I want my news guys to be regular people discovering what is happening with you and giving viewers context for it, not analyzing every single last thing and then telling me what to think. NBC you guys still know how to do news right, please shape the rest of the network more around this type of feel
Interesting that UA-cam just suggested this for me, but what i found funny is Paul F. Tomkins is how I found CBB like 7 years ago .
04:14
"DOOOOM"
I love Stocckie Yawkie
Nice of him to plug Paul and Lauren
PFT and Lauren Lapkus were great mentions, but he also should've mentioned Andy Daly, Thomas Middleditch and Jason Mantzoukas... I mean, Jeffrey Characterwheaties.
Well, those 3 are definitely better known in general than PFT and LL. Andy and Thomas are both are or have been stars of their own shows, and Zouks does major motion pictures. I'd say he missed mentioning Jon Gabrus, Neil Campbell, Mike Hanford
im just glad they put some light on the small underground comedian amy schumer that no ones ever heard of
Im a huge fan of omedy Ban Ban
Is that a t-shirt?
These comments are fantastic!! 🤣🤣🤣
The first thing that comes into my mind when I see Aukerman now is his spread in Taint Magazine!
Same. That will always be Scott to me. And my guess is he instructs people to NEVER bring it up because it's never brought up.
Hot Saucerman! Love him
Before he shout out Paul and Laura I said dude, he’s going to shout out Paul and Laura at some point
Lauren?
RIP Harris baby, funniest man on the planet.
Stock Tickerman really going business casual here.
Screamin’ Scotty
Scotty too hotty
Straight Talkerman.
Holding down Threedom frfr ✊🏾
Hey nong man!!!!
oh, hey nongman
Scott Sincereman.
That guy isn't going to understand PFT or Lapkus.
Some Guy not like you
Spot Toppermen- never heard of him.
Has he done any TV?
@1:12 & 4:14 great game
It's true, I have no idea who this guy is.
Cake boss!
Comedy bang baaaang
was steve martin a big influence on him?
Watched Twoyearslaterman
Saying the tonight show is meaningless on NBC is perfect
I’m so glad he didn’t bring up iRobot especially during this time of year
Hot Saucerman
Did you see that doom ad?
I'm surprised he didn't mention James Abdomian.
Yacht Rocketman
So reasonable on the surface, no one could guess at the hentai obsessed monster who lies underneath.
Its weird to hear scott use his real voice and not his radio/comedy voice.
I don't know why, I know what he looks like but when I listen to cbb I always imagine him looking like Frank Skinner
I wonder how Scott felt about Lauren Lapkus in The Wrong Missy...
Paul Ftompkins?
AgentMull Paulf Tommykins
Choctaw!
