Most of the survival farms are viable to built now, because mob spawns have been fixed so that it’s more fun
my view is that it's fundamentally different to lose your items due to the inherent anarchy chaos of 2b2t and admins deleting them from your inventory. yes, the end result is the same, but the aftertaste is completely different + sets a precedent on arbitrary future admin interference. I'm no diehard 2b2b player tho
Anarchy means that *anyone* can be the bad guy.
Even the guy in charge.
Also, there has been a long history of admin abuse since pretty much the first year of the server, so this is really just par for the course at this point.
@@Jacktherippa84 When people hear of Anarchy server, or of the actual definition of anarchy, and the way it's advertised; Anarchy servers are when the guy in charge only intervene in the most necessary moment : the current 2b2t dev team did not act out of absolute necessity. 2b2t is not an anarchy server. An "anarchy server" where the guy in charge can do what ever the heck he wants is not an anarchy, it's more like "totalitarianism".
2b2t might as well never have been an anarchy server, but lots of the server's reputation came from that title and I don't think it's fair to say the people who left this server have issues or shouldn't be tilted.
tl;dr I'm gonna guess people aren't interested in this server because it was made more and more obvious that the server had a LOAD of really misleading advertisement. (And hause/dev team really made sure to take advantage of it)

Just seem like it sets a dangerous precedent doing this. 2b is the server that *never* resets….. apart from whenever the fuck the admin feels like it and just *resets* the economy. He’s supposed to be at least somewhat hands off on a no rules server. Aren’t I right in thinking that for years the only rule that the server had won’t don’t fuck up the the server by lagging it? Now all these rules have been put in place that strip the server of its anarchy status and the one of the main things that it’s known for, it’s rlly just a survival server now which goes against its whole history. IMO this is too far and completely diminishes what 2b is all about, it’s an anarchy server ffs and yet it now has a whole rules tab

I agree. People definitely don't know how it used to be, the newer guys (from Rusher and a little before) weren't raised in the lag. I joined a rusher, but I have several friends who were pre-2016 that have shaped me to who I am. This update is goofy and weird, but the server was already floating far from anarchy anyway.

while I don't neccessarily agree with everything you said here, I very much respect your maturity on the subject and transparency with your experience on the server. You clearly know what you're talking about with this, and your right about one thing, things will inevitably trend abck toward anarchy, its just how 2b2t works.
Sure things happen, but can you really call it an anarchy server after looking at the new 'rules' put in place? IMO, its not.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it was never really anarchy in that sense.
This type of interference has always happened to some degree. It's just that a lot of newer post 2016 players are getting to see it first hand.
Yeah I think you're missing the point of why people are upset. Items can always be farmed again but the breaking point for most people is that they joined the server because there was the promise to do whatever you wanted. It was advertised this way for years by youtubers such as fit and sal and even on the subreddit for quite a while. Now all these new changes break that idea to why many many people joined in the first place. Also it is pretty ironic for your main praise of 2b2t is literally just 1.19 features, it should be a expected thing for server owners to update their server when mojang releases a new update not a god given gift like some are making it out to be. You could easily be getting the same experience in your livestreams on 2b as on a single player world or a small smp with friends. And that's the other big reason people are quitting there is no difference between 2b2t and a normal survival server now.

yeah, big reason why im not bothered by all this is because i was a vanilla player (i simply dont trust most hack clients) without access to any dupes or strong items, solobaseing in 2017 and 2018 until i couldnt easily log in anymore since early 2019 and had their base griefed somewhere later in 2019 (i found out on a 1.13 update test server map copy, ruins coords -656800 97600 enjoy) because i dont want to pay for prio queue and thats when the algoritm started picking up 2b2t and player count went from 90 at low hours when i used to play (0 queue time) to 500. i dont have anything anymore on the server so im also completely fine with everything personally lol. now the server finally updated i might actually attempt to start playing again because all these years i didnt want to start a new base before the update, it just took far longer than anyone expected.
Just saying: End Portals at that time had been backdoored into existence. No dupes, no exploits, just couple of dudes stealing password and admin privileges.
Deleting end was justified because the way it was created the first time wasn't related to minecraft mechanics at all. Deleting dupes made using minecraft mechanics is different issue.

I'm late, but I do roughly agree with this take. It's unfortunate that it happened, but whatever. If you can't live without such an excess of duped items, then you're not ready to play on the server. Plus, people who say that this sets a precedent, as if similar things haven't happened just don't know about 2b2t history. He has deleted item stashes for simply being too big, and exploits have always been patched. The duped items were never meant to be, so them being removed or reduced wasn't surprising. Of course, now HauseMaster has done a rollback, so now many of his changes are undone, so it just is what it is now.
Sorry jack but I totally disagree. the cycle of 2b2t is losing your items from players, NOT admins....

I genuinely don't know if I'm worthy of something like that or not.
I think that the large increase in players in the past few years alongside the fact that they all joined during a time where 2b wasn't getting much major admin intervention aside from exploit removal is why it seems like so many people complaining, the server hasn't updated in years and now with such a massive change that many players never knew since they joined after the server updated to 1.12 they are complaining about change because they haven't experienced as much of the large changes that occurred when the server was updating more regularly.
I see that most players are overreacting about the changes, there are some dumb item changes but most of them are reasonable considering how many there were took the challenge away. some of the other changes like banning x-ray are pretty strange though and seem kinda pointless.
Also the complaints about the server turning its back on "never resets" is total bullshit considering that the map the server is on now isn't even the original map and the map was reset many times early on for various reasons.
i dont agree with the resetting of chunks and items but im fine with the harsher anti-cheat and dupe fixing and the server being compliant with the ula i find fine too

There is a big difference between being griefed by another player using clever exploits and being griefed by the freaking server admin using his immeasurable power to randomly destroy everyone's hard work for no reason. There was no clever trick and there was no way to fight it. It was just wrong.

Yeah I agree with you. It’s not very different from what has happened before. The admin has deleted full stashes before so really the recent changes aren’t as bad. Plus everything can just be farmed. I’m having the fun feel of 2b back in 2016 when I joined. 2b hasn’t been this fun for me since 2016.
Yeah, perhaps I wasn't as hyper clear as I should have been during this stream segment.
The way of 2b2t has *always* been some sort of interference and abuse.
There have been long periods of dormancy, sure, but nothing has ever stopped anyone with power from doing **something** to the server or its playerbase.
You just have to make your peace with it and move on.

UA-cam yeeted my comment because autoplay as I was typing and it went to another vid, good one youtube. Anyways, I wanted to comment my thoughts. I think there's multiple perspectives and sides to be taken on this and no one is concrete. Especially since we at the end of the day don't really know who's even in charge of 2b anymore or what their vision for the server is. I do believe that people perhaps took the relative stability they had for granted, but I can't blame many for leaving. I think a lot of regulars were there largely because of the sunken cost fallacy, they were too invested to leave. And now with this reset, much of that incentive to stay is gone. It's like the straw that broke the camel's back for many all at once. I do empathize with many though, although this can be down to opinions of course. An item reset to "soft reset" the economy seems blatantly stupid when on a server advertised explicitly as "a world that never resets". For many this can be a real sucker punch because at the end of the day, 2b is run like a business and people were paying for the ability to have regular and consistent access to it with prio. I can definitely see your points Jack, people had become far too comfortable with things of course. That said, I can also understand the rationale for people. In the past Hause would at least communicate more to some extent and have more of a valid reason (most of the time). And while sure, most of the items lost were duped obviously, people also lost items genuinely grinded. I think it sets a precedent and for many players, they have to come to that reality now. Perhaps that's the reality you've always known, but for many it isn't. One thing I have heard one person say is they don't believe 2b has good faith administration, and at the end of the day for some I think that's their dealbreaker now. Maybe it never has, but for many they're now seeing it firsthand. Anyways Jack nice to see ya and hope you're well :)
Imo the deleting items thing is more of a growing pain than anything. It's not a big deal wen you think about how big of a change this is. I also think it does become a massive problem if he wipes out items again, then it really starts to be a problem
Yeah, definitely should not be a repeat performance.
The worst part is that if your stacks are 63 or below they are not touched or 15 or below for pearls, i am really sad about my shulker shells, doing a huge project 20-25 mill from spawn with reset nether so it is somewhat safe, i wanted to grab a mesa biome nearby gonna be many trips now with almost no shulkers, more of a annoyance really but i will manage anyway.
The reset nether and the seed being a new one for new chunks is really good for the longjevety of my base.

When I logged on and shortly thereafter found myself actually *playing minecraft* on 2b2t, I knew this was needed, however upset I was about losing my duped god apples and XP bottles.

Dude same. I am mostly unbothered by the actual changes. For me the big losses was the collateral damage of the update, knowing a few friends who don’t see the update the same way and end up leaving.
I would take off some of the changes to your client, alot of stutter in your video, your machine cannot keep up.
Yeah, I've noticed that and will have to adjust and test going forward.
Just not quite sure what exactly to change, as I like having that info available.
Things like seeing all the treasure chests, mobs, etc.

Seems to be overloaded encoding, a rather annoying issue with video recording software.
In my opinion, taking away items wasn’t the right move. If you knew players were just gonna dupe more of them, why remove them in the first place? The thing about your items getting taken or destroyed by conventional means is it’s fair game. You always can hide them better, make decisions and stay a step ahead of your enemies. You may not have that much control over it but you always do have some control. The real kicker about this is payers have absolutely zero control over this and that’s why they’re upset.
You fail to realize that they're not going to return. The point of 2b2t was you die a bunch, you finnaly escape spawn, you earn items, and maybe you meet some people you call friends and make a massive base, it gets greifed and you get killed and then the cycle repeats. A second thing Hause doesn't own 2b he either A sold out or B just quit and was naive to sign a deal with people to own the server. But you're basically saying "Oh people are just pissed because they're not op anymore." NO 2b was the server thay would never reset and had many people who would love to kill you for just being new or players who don't play anymore because either burn out or they don't care. 2b has history and it's slowly going away because of ignorance and greed. That's not because "Oh hausemaster is just a prick" dude hause hasn't done anything in decades hell he could be dead for all we know. Yet you ask why people are mad? Because a server they spent money and time on constantly to have fun and take a break from reality is no longer fun and or playable. And another thing players won't come back because they feel there trust has been broken and they're noy allowed to do anything they please. Sure dupes and other game breaking glitches was an issue and just made the game easier but deleting unused chunks people used to find bases and had history, delting illegal bedrock structures that had history, and so on is just removing history and story for generations to come and to adapt/learn how 2b2t ticks so they can escape spawn and then live a life of limited luxury before they eventually lose it to death, life, or they get bed trapped.

You see, I always saw the early days of 2b2t and the way that Hausemaster ran the server as a flawed system. Having joined in 2017, I played for 6 years thinking the days of blatant admin abuse were behind us and that I could enjoy the server without fearing it like you experienced, since during those years Hausemaster was largely silent and distant. I agree that having it happen again is more of the rule than the exception, but I don’t think we should be celebrating the return of these practices either. Plus, the community now has leverage against Hause in the form of priority queue. Taking away someone’s source of income is much more effective than begging for changes to be reversed. I could give less of a crap about the items I lost. If it weren’t for the admin abuse leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I would be enjoying the server much more than I did back in the “coddled days” because I agree that 2b2t got too easy. Just my two cents.

Yeah you loose stuff, thats part of the game.
But when that happens it's the players that take or destroy the items, but now the admins went in and removed items themselves.
This was because: "Over the server's decade existence, various duplication exploits have caused significant damage to the server particularly with the addition of shulkers."
The server is supposed to be Anarchy, and anarchy means no rules, and them doing it now sets a dangerous precedent of them doing it again.
There are a lot of 2b2t alternatives, but I have seen plenty of them fail because the admins interfered with the world. And that may happen to 2b2t too.
Also the rules now say: "Do not attempt to undermine the server's efforts to provide every player an equal and fair playing environment, through means such as abusing any exploit, bug or flawed game mechanic to cause server disruption or lag." which means that the admins can ban/punish you for duping, etc. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN ANARCHY SERVER! THIS ISN'T ANARCHY.
If the server was true anarchy then an anticheat as strict as has existed for several years wouldn't be a factor
If the server was "true" anarchy it would literally be unplayable, there would be hundreds of unpunished lag machines and the server has been backdoored many times. Admin have to interfere just so you can actually play on the server and not have it 1 frame per 1 minutes and crashing all the time from the lag

I think that the main gripe people have is with the *_Admin_* himself doing it. To many people it directly spits on the "anarchy" vibe. Hence the De-facto boycott.
Do you know how many times the admin(s) intervening/interfering has happened over the years?
I'll tell you the frequency of such actions is easily in the higher double digits by this point.
Most of those events were met with about as much 'REEEEEEEEEEEEEing' at those time too.
Truly, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Salc1 really made people hate the update for no reason… It’s not 2011 where you can just be toxic and everything will be normal. It’s 2023 times changed and like jack said. It’s Mojangs fault not 2b2t. Those who cry about items are lazy and want stuff handed to them. The map reset isn’t a big issue considering there new items/game mechanics. SalC1 set a bad example in my opinion. “Oh it’s harder to find bases” LIKE WHAT. Bro made a tutorial on how to hide your base and now he wants an easier way to find bases?
