One of the most amazing documentaries I have ever seen. What a character, his own man, gifted, humble, complex a winner.. tears come to your eyes watching this.. the memories ..
It's heartbreaking to listen to how Ronan describes his last match for Ireland and Munster. Because, we only remember the glory. The Pres Munster cups, the Con victories, the UCC victories, The Heineken cup/, the Grand Slam/ He should realise how much he is loved and respected. Couldn't be happier that he led La Rochelle to Heineken Cup glory! Muster to the day I die, and ROG always over Leinster - even if he's coaching a French side! He is special, and long may he resist temptation to accept a poison chalice in Irish coaching. He is wise. It's why he walked away from Irish rugby. He was treated in an awful fashion by the Irish media re the gambling nonsense, his children don't need that scrutiny, neither does his beautiful wife Jess, I hope he remains in his happy life abroad until his children are adults and the scrutiny of any role in Irish rugby will go over their heads.
Good man ROG, you gave us many proud days to be Irish...when the 3 Os' left, O'Gara, O'Driscoll, O'Connell, we went back to being also- rans... You were one of the best ever to wear the number 10!
Die hard Leinster fan here. But ROG is one of my absolute sporting heroes. Whenever the game was on the line, he stepped up. One of the best 10s to ever do it.
I’m Sunderland through and through, we don’t do Rugby, but met this man doing a question and answer session in Cork 2018. Unbelievably entertaining and down to earth, at the end of it felt like I’d follow him into battle if he asked as he talked with real passion about his career
A true rugby legend. I'm English born but from Irish father & Scottish mother. I always support England. When ROG retired I was so pleased. Only because he was such a great player & England were saved from his great kicking talent.
Who cant love ROG..One of my idols. Legend and I'm so grateful to have witnessed his career growing up.. GOAT in No.10...SUAF...Ireland and Munster Legend. Future Ireland manager. 🙏🙏
It seems Ireland have been blessed with quality at the number 10 position. It seems madness that 2 players have effectively held that position for over 20 years. A great documentary, thank you for the upload, thank you ROG and good luck in your coaching, although not if you come up against Munster..lol
Fantastic insight.... Fantastic player... Great to see the rivalry.. The hunger... What it meant... Great programme / upload... A true sportsman... A Munster God!!!
Love ROG. A truly legendary playing career for province and country, now a legendary coach in France, and he is only getting going! I hope he gets to lead Ireland to further glory in the future. Takes a driven, special person to achieve what he has, and what is beautiful, is that the platform for his success is love for, and from his family. They've moved to NZ, Fra etc. to allow him to keep growing and achieving, seems the sky is the limit for them. I hope he stops breaking my Leinster heart, but thats my problem. More power to you ROG. Already a legend. And he and his family are nowhere near the end of their incredible story. Ales la ROG!
What a watch, remember watching them battling and absolutely loved o'gara 2 absolutely outstanding no10s that will be remembered by irish rugby forever !! 🇮🇪
Wow! Redefined #10 for so long missing in Irish rugby & the rivalry with Sexton. That drop goal & the supporter doing the doing the sign of the Cross. Marvellous. Marvellous player & honest. Brilliant documentary.
Love ROG from a Leinster fan .. Seeing Garland bring a tear to my eye .. we should never have let him go .. im looking at Pat Lam now and thinking the same ... these guys don’t come along that often....
Really enjoyed watching every moment of this, what and humble super sportsman, was a real joy to watch each and every game played, so nice to see a beautiful budding family, and the story of his soulmate and mother of the offspring, wishing you and all your family success in the future.
Seems to be Intense and sincere guy. Great respect for him- he was only player of Grand Slam winning team who swapped his jersey with his opposite number on Wales team: who had just failed so narrowly with penalty kick: shows his thoughtfulness for opponents
Always wondered what happened to an amazing player as a six nations only rugby fan from Northern Ireland. Think about him every match and so good to hear he has such a good relationship with Sexton 🙏
i dont pretend to know much about rugby, but i remember once i went to mass and ronan o gara was there with his his full family and i was start struck.. St Patricks in Cork... i just kept on staring at them the whole mass.... and he wasnt even a huge star back then, maybe 20 caps for Ireland... FANTASTIC DOCUMENTARY
He doesnt realise how much we love him. Reminds me so much of myself. When he talks about having bottle but shitting it at the same time. So fucking true. Miss him om the pitch.
Amazing to think that ROG’s incredible playing career of ups and downs, was in a way, him being blooded and battle hardened. Leading him into what could turn out to be one of the greatest coaching careers of all time
ROG - we will never forget. Didnt realise the shit you had to put up with, thanks and great to see you coaching so well, I know you miss playing, hard to be on the sideline rather the pitch, will always be.
Jee Ronan u would go a long way to get the honesty that you give on & off the field. So true days in sport have inconsistencies good days & bad days the same in life! You my man, shall shall never know, what you have given to people in your presence where ever that may be,& guess what, there is not many on this planet can say that! Patents, neighbors, friends all Shall agree - ordinary man extraordinary human being. Thank you Ronan.
Johnny is great but i'd have ROG in my dream team every time sorry, ROG & BOD and the mid to late 2010 - 2014 team was perfection. They put Irish rugby on the world stage and won back to back games every time.
Old time players in soccer was a game I love and was a few great rugby matches, when these lads came along they brought rugby to a new level and sccoer turned into a lady disco competition run by the stock exchange, This is one sound honest man with real class, class is not money or flash cars, it's what real men wish to aspire to and everything you would like you kids to aspire to while understanding the difference. Any trol that doesn't get the soul of this man I feel sorry for their lack of intelligence. I wish this man nothing but good luck and a long life and happy healthy one, for him and all his obvisouly class family. As my father use to say, fk the begruders.
you done your country proud you wore that jersey with passion and played some fantastic rugby yes unfortunately we get to a stage in life were we have to hang up the boots but never forget the legacy you leave behind ROG we loved you then and we love you still never read media bs, the only truth is the date! thank you ROG 💚🤍🧡 enjoy the quarters 2023
WORLD TOP Rugby Player he will go down in the History Books of Irish Rugby for Generation of young Rugby Player to come A Brilliant Brilliant Ruby Player the best of luck to you For the Future Ronan and your family Finbarr
Irish rugby in 2021 needs someone to step up and challenge Sexton for his position the way he challenged O'Gara. Johnny isn't going to be playing beyond the next two years and the drop off in quality of player behind him is massive. Who is the most suitable successor to take ownership of the 10 Jersey?
As much as I appreciate ROG and what he did… Making it through an hour of this (up to his 100th cap) and he still hasn’t mentioned the wee man that fed him every ball he worked with does make me look at him in a different way. I’d have thought a lot more should have been said about Stringer than Sexton at this point.
When Ireland reacted that world Cup they were the n1 rugby team in the world it was down to a manager out of debt with players cashing in on any crap theu could make an advert about.

The memories indeed lad.
Tremendous player. As a Scot - I always went to the Ireland game at Murrayfield just to see O'Gara play

Beautifully made documentary. So much about ROG we never knew......
Having watched this documentary, I'm convinced Razor Robertson saw in him the qualities and humanity ROG brought to the game of rugby union.
What a brilliant film. Such an interesting and courageous person. Gutted for Leinster this weekend but nothing but love for this guy. Fair play

A true Irish/Munster man. Got to love that! Fantastic.
Never ever pulled out of a tackle no mater how big the other guy was, but he was one of the best kickers to play the game.
ROG - we will never forget. Didnt realise the shit you had to put up with, thanks and great to see you coaching so well, I know you miss playing, hard to be on the sideline rather the pitch, will always be.

Ah lads the last 2 mins broke my heart.
My favourite player ever ;)
Great Doc
Was my favourite player to watch for Ireland
It takes a certain type of player to say to your coach "It takes a coach with balls to pick me this weekend" what a fucking player

Top man Rog
Love roges honesty
Rog is a legend
Complete professional.
some man, and some player
The end of David Humphrey's time / start of ROGs was pretty much a mirror image of the end of ROGs / start of Jon Sextons era
rog you know french after a year!!

Who is the most suitable successor to take ownership of the 10 Jersey?
Carberry, if he can stay fit...
I hope Carberry can get back up to that level. Hes been doing some good work for Munster since his return from injury.
What a legend
Legend 😑
This guy couldn't be more stereotypically Irish if he tried.
could you explain?
anyone here after sexton's last home game?
Took many a good hiding for his country, fair play to him I'd like to have seem him fight back though
he's one scruffy young fella
is it true that ROG hated Peter Stringer ... i was told this that they never got on and always had a frosty relationship ?
No they just didn't get on as well as people made them out to be.
Stringer was invited to ROG’s wedding so I doubt it
Cher
Then 10 years on from Jonny Sexton start ahead of Ronan o gaera other players are playing ahead Jonny Sexton in 2021
fierce man for bookies
I hope Ireland win RWC 2023.

@Alisdair there were certainly times when he did, however his reselience in constantly coming back and putting his neck out again overcame this
