Taking mini breaks is super helpful. I'll set my iwatch to go off every 30 minutes and I stand and wash clothes and make lunch and then get back to it. I also took your advice on writing during lunch breaks and for sure I can get 500 words in the middle of the day.
That’s a good idea with your Apple Watch! Sometimes it’s hard to break away so the reminder would be great!

I'm gonna be a rebel this year, I'd kind of like to average about 1k per day but I'm not gonna get mad if it doesn't happen. I'm also not going to jump to a new story immediately in November, I'm on the last 1/4 of my current novel and it would feel weird to just leave it there! Gotta keep the momentum 👀

This is year 14 for me. No in public write ins this year. :(. It's sadly official.
I'll be doing 10 5k short stories. Halloween themed.
Sprints are your friend! Like 20 minute ones are good. You can use things like Write or Die, Written Kitten are two others. Just don't do Kamikaze mode on Write or Die.

These are great tips. Nano runs my anxiety through the roof. So I participate without really participating lol. I go to all the write ins and I write but I don't give myself a specific number goal. Maybe I'm a Nano Rebel haha. Lol I see you with that throwback outro. Lol you are a real life UA-camr Courtney 🤣 and you are doing a great job regardless of what anybody else says or the size of our Courtney Project Fam (quality over quantity I say) lol 😆

I wasn't sure if I'd find new tips in here (simply because there are a lot of clickbait "How to kill it in NanoWrimo" videos). But I should have known better because all your videos are gold. I'm giving nano another go with a new novel idea and used Preptober well. Project AuthorTube's video's are helpful but I'm sooooooo nervous! I have a little outline but I'm just so afraid that i will vastly underwrite and all of it will be awful lol!
Aww, it’s okay if you underwrite. At the end of the day, whatever you write for NaNo is more than what you started with. ❤️
Love this video! Yesss! I also use Scrivener in its simplest form... Sorta. I start with a blank doc and add "folders" for each chapter and "text" for each scene. Add my working blurb to the research, a character list (so I won't forget names) and my outline (if I have one) to the research section, and off I go.
That’s awesome!! What I love about scrivener is it can be what you make of it. Want easy? It can be easy? Need all the fancy stuff, it can do that too! I just love how organization so it works for my brain! The folders are 👌👌
Yes, it's very important to know your limits. Challenge yourself, but take breaks! Chunks are a writers best friend ^_^

Thanks for these tips! I have scrivener and I also use it like a regular word processor. Didn’t think to have dual screen mode so I’m going to try and do that.
Dual screen mode is the way to go! Makes writing flow easier!
