He also plays fretless banjo, dobro, pedal steel with equal mastery . . . AND plays piano like a concert pianist. Check out Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy at the Artist's Den. Mr. Scott provides all those instruments and sings BGs, as well as lead. He's a living treasure.
thank you for the video! love darrell scott, he's a great musician, writer, and awesome guitar player. he has some serious soul searching songs. i call him a musician's musician. he is kind of underground right now. I never knew about his music until a friend of mine from united kingdom sent me some songs of his, although he is getting more well-known.
I'm a bit older than Darrell and so glad I found him about 4 or 5 years ago. Americana never meant much to me as a label. I'd been listening to folk in the 60s then it went into singer-songwriter and eventually it was just a matter of whatever I found that was good, some country, blues, and lots more. Darrell certainly fit right into that groove of what's really good. He sings my soul so much of the time and I'm from the west he's from the east... so what?
The very same scenario he speaks of in 'checking out' of the 'commodity country' market is exactly what led me to discover Darrell Scott. Same thing. Country music now just plain.....well, it's not very good. No soul.
How is this not trending or popular?... I mean seriously people this guy is so good!
Every known millimetre of that guitar's fret board and Darrell's fingers = BEST friends.

This guy here is evolved beyond my years and hope to aspire like him someday. What a true joy to listen to. Bravo!

Darrell, come back to Harvester soon! Missed the concert, and really would like to see you. Such great tunes!

Because soul is from nowhere, except from...soul. In fact, soul is from everywhere.
I think he is not only a great songwriter but just a great talent in general!
very nice, thanks for sharing this with us
Yeah, thanks Chet and all of the other folks who brought this style about, because Darrell and Tommy are products of that influence.
Binge watching/listening
What a great talent
That Sobell guitar sounds awesome :)
True, but it might have something to do with the guitar player too.
great writer and giver of songs
