ok I don't stream but you just taught me things I didn't know my Sony a5000 was capable with. I just started learning about cameras and I had this camera for about 6 years now lol. I use my iPhone camera for everything until recently.
Damn. I was looking for a solution to the display icons on my NEX 5T and you just came up with a creative idea cropping the sides. Way to go kid. Thanks a lot :)
I have mine at 1 min and usually when it's connected on, it won't go off. On the last tab in the menu, page 2, I have CTRL for HDMI on. I can look into it more but I haven't had that problem.
Hi! Thanks for the video :D I have a small question: when I plug in my camera and try to use it with OBS my screen shows only black. OBS picks up the USB video but it doesn't show the image from the camera. Do you have by any chance an idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!
check your output settings and see what they are. change the HDMI settings to turn the info display off, usually, that's the case. Here are some other ideas I can think of. You probably have to play with the settings and the camera. Also, check if you have a memory card inside, that could be it. Hopefully, this helps, if not, I know google/Reddit is always helpful!
@@robertonsitanggang i have the answer and it’s simple. Your cameras HDMI does not allow to be outputed on a HDMI capture card, its not a clean output sadly. Best option is to use another camera that provides mirrorless clean HDMI output!
How is the environment with the camera? sometimes in rooms where more heat is made, it can cause other devices to overheat. It's possible it could be the camera itself.
facebook marketplace, offer up, or any retail store! I prefer facebook marketplace, but make sure it's safe before meeting someone to make a purchase!!
hey man! I have a question; If you plug a microusb-hdmi cable to the camera, does the pc receive the signal? or do I really need to buy all those adapters?
Hi! Thank you for making this video! It helped me a lot! I have one question though. I noticed you have an external mic for audio! How do you set that up with OBS and your computer? Is it just USB? I have the same camera like you and I know it doesn’t have a mic input :/
I have a previous video about my setup. On OBS, once your mic/aux is connected, you click on the settings wheel, click properties and select the mic you use. That's how I did it, hopefully that helps!
if you're streaming through the system, you're best bet is using a program called lightstream, it's a website. I used it before obs. If not, you're gonna need a capture card/ computer to stream it all. If you don't mind, what setup you have?
@@TinyJuly ok so my set up is a 27inch Asus monitor and my xbox series x but I do have a MacBook Pro but im wondering if I can use the camera on the xbox one series x
@@joseserrano8913 that would be a little bit more tricky if you're just using the console. You would have to connect the camera via USB using the micro HDMI and video recorder. It's more recommended to use a computer to stream with a camera. Try that, you might have to play with the settings, if not you're gonna need a computer/pc to use the camera.

Glad I can help!! You can use your camera as a webcam for zoom or even UA-cam videos. I've used it for Zoom classes too lol
Thank you this was so much help.
Thanks for the help the only problem is there’s a lag/delay..not even when I’m recording
Is there a time limits on sony a5000 for video capture?
Helped me a lot I use to have it on manual and changed it to priority which helped tremendously

Does the NEX 5T allow unlimited runtime to stream?
Can you charge the a5000 while using it as a webcam?
Yea should work! If not try getting a dummy battery, they save a bunch of time and the worry of it blacking out!
hi Sony A5000 have limit 30 min or not?
hello friend excellent video. I'm from Chile, I recommend you use a remote camera program, it helps you focus and everything
Thanks for the tip! I'll totally look it up!
@@TinyJuly hey july, could you update about a5000 with reomtr camera program from sony? is it works?
Don't forget to also install the OpenMemories Tweak app to disable the 30 minute recording limit
Never heard but I'l totally check it out! Thanks for adding the tip!
@@TinyJuly If you don't disable this, the camera will auto shut off after 30 minutes, even with a dummy battery installed!
You can also remove all the overlayed text with Tweak for a clean hdmi output.
github.com/ma1co/OpenMemories-Tweak/issues/70
Do you still use this camera and would you recommend?
They have software that allows you to turn that off so you can have a clean HDMI out
What's the software called? Thx :)
Thanks so much!! that helped a lot !
hi. will the a5000 overheat for long use? thanks.
from my experience, I haven't had it overheat. The most I've used it in one sitting was 4 hours
You want more blurry background?
Get f1.8 or wider
ohhhhhh, thanks for tip! Greatly appreciated!!
Hi! Nice tutorial. I have same alpha 5000. Does your shutdown after 30 minutes? How you prevent that?
Thankyou a lot!!

@@HowToMealz hi, i have the same problem just like you now. Do you already have your answer about this problem ??
@@robertonsitanggang Sadly no :( I had to sell the camera and bought a a6000 instead which worked like a charm!

Great tutorial. The Amazon link for the HDMI video capture doggie is not available... don't know if it is monetized.
Thank you! I will update that here shortly!
Will it work with a100
it should would with most sony cameras
The lipsync seems a bit off? have you managed to sort that?
I have, old camera, had to manually switch audio levels on Premiere
Does your camera overheat while streaming? I can’t seem to keep mine on for more than 30min.

Hi mate, does it turn off after 30 mins?
It shouldn't, go to your settings and you can change it. I upgraded my camera to an A6400 and haven't experienced that
I’m not getting a image on my computer
If your struggling to get camera to work just put it in auto mode NOT PC REMOTE
it worked for me,
if you set the cam to moviemode. the hdmi overlay should dissappear and the permanent focus should be available..
nope it does not disappear the a5000 does not have clean HDMI the A5100 does have
