It's difficult to live up to Kilgrave as a villain (And honestly they're doing different things here so I don't think it's a good comparison anyway) but Trish ended up also being one of my favorite villains ever. They do such a great job of showing the audience why she is the way she is but at the same time you can't condone any of it. She's both empathetic and just so disgusting in how self centered, self righteous and down right cruel she is, especially to her own sister, whom she loves more than anyone, and you DO believe that she loves Jess in spite of all the horrible ways she disregards how much she's hurts her. It feels so real in how much she wants to be right and be the hero no matter what it costs and the best part is, I don't think the writers planned for her to go down this path all the back in season one but it fits so perfectly with who she was back then.

Because you got what you wanted* Trish: *You don't get it, Jess. You're free. You always said you didn't ask for this, but I did. So you can stop trying and feeling guilty and inadequate. I don't need you to be a hero. Nobody does. I've got it covered*

I kept watching to give this a chance and the last few seasons were great but it took a while to get there.
