I'm just glad i wasn't one of those hoop fans who wanted to see Tatum/JB get traded from the Celtics. I gotta admit one thing, sure, the whole dynasty/big 3 thing is over, but i can see the Celtics rewriting the meaning of "dynasty", and it's all thanks to their performances last night 💯🔥🏀

@@isao_the_2ndthe moment the C's drafted the 2 Jay's it was the moment the new legacy started in beantown, its just that they really endured lots of failures, pain to go up as a champion, this championship opens up the doors for more rings to come, now they're ready to build a new dynasty, they are young experienced, unselfish stars

He's been with the Celtics during the good and bad times. Jrue Holiday instrumental to Boston's success but I just feel bad for Smart for missing out.

Also, just one correction. The trade didn't ruin IT's career. IT's injury ruined his career, it's just the extent of that injury only came to light after the trade. There's probably always going to be conflicting stories on who is responsible for IT exacerbating his injury. On the one hand, I think Boston certainly pushed him to play through it. However, I also think IT (the competitor that he was) pushed himself to play while hurt. It's very sad and Boston fans should always be grateful for what IT gave to the city.

The way he was defending when fully healthy was ridiculous-and it was so many games where a crazy Rob Williams lob would shift the momentum.
I stand behind the take that he would be one of the top 10 centers in the league at this point if his legs weren’t made of glass /he never caught that bug.
I do hope marcus can come back at some point and win one with the Celtics with how much he means to this city and how much he’s sacrificed here on and off the court. While we’re at it, please brad sign IT and make up for what Danny did to him… we can afford to throw him one of those deep roster spots and it would mean so much to both Isaiah and the fans. 15:19 biggest L take….the trade didn’t ruin IT’s career, his hip injury that ended his postseason vs Cavs did. Also the alternative for the Celtics would’ve been to offer him a max contract….should Danny Ainge have done that? Give a 30 year old 5’9” guy with a bad hip a max deal? That would’ve ruined the Celtics franchise. Great move by Danny to trade IT for Cryrie

❤️🥹 LIKE if you literally new every aspect of this video. I became a fan at 9yrs old in 08. Fell in with this team. Rondo was my idol and I saw him get traded. Smart was the start of rebuild and IT carried the torch for as long as he could. We seen a lot of players come and go. The journey with the Jays seeing them grow and Uncle Al being their mentor and man seeing Brad just be a mastermind on the court and in front office has me at a lost of words. My fellow “I bleed greeners ” Banner 18 has finally been risen. LETS GO CELTICSSSSSS ☘️🙏🏿❤️ let’s enjoy the tf outta this summer man. And hey “why not 19?”

    I have to respectfully disagree.
The Warriors that year, especially Steph Curry, were absolutely on fire that season. They may have been aging but they were still hungry with a huge monkey on their back.
If anything, the series should have been over in five games had the Celtics not come from behind in GM1.
Not saying anything bad about the Celtics but I felt they were really inconsistent in the postseason that year. They can be dominant in one game and then fall flat the next.
They were talented but not quite ready yet. It was a winnable series to some degree but Boston either had to play perfect basketball or the Warriors choking. If anything, it gave the Celtics a chip on their shoulder.
Never underestimate a roster of aging but still hungry talent.
    Past that, great video.

The 2008 Celtics had a chance to repeat if only their coach was not Choke Rivers. He nearly choked in 2008, He choked in 2009, he choked in 2010 and 2012.

Sir William Felton Russell - King Of Basketball & Greatest Of All-Time, is smiling down from the skies and saying "My Green Knights have done it again for the Celtic World Kingdom!". ... The NBA World Championship ALWAYS belongs to the Mighty Celtics! .... they just let other teams borrow it once in awhile!

Guys, so basic really. First, Celtics have 4 ELITE playmakers - more than any NBA team - JT, JB, Jdrue and White. These guys can put the ball on the floor, create their shots or winning plays. Imagine with all four on the floor. Or they are substitutable with one another - meaning one or two can rest without the offense dipping. More winning plays means higher scores. Second, the Celtics' first 8 rotational guys can shoot 3's at a collective average of 35%. Finally, they have 2 all NBA defensive guys, and maybe 3 - Brown included, who can be on the floor together. NO OTHER TEAM has these assets, credentials! That is why Boston topped the regular season by a mile and went on!

The 2010 finals game 7 was BS. Lakers shot 20 free throws in the 4th quarter alone Boston shot 17 for the entire game. They had that game on lock

If Tatum doesn't get hurt in g7 against Miami I think Boston probably wins that game. If Boston wins that game they probably lose in 5 or 6 to Denver, especially with RWill only able to play 15 mins a game and Brogdon's arm injury making him go from 6MOTY to non-factor. If Boston does make it to the Finals I'm not entirely sure if Stevens decides to blow it up. Back to back Finals appearances (with both likely being losses) shows the team can still do it, with injuries being the defining factor. If Tatum doesn't get injured Brown isn't tasked with being the #1 in game 7 and he doesn't get hounded on his left hand and he doesn't tirelessly work on that all off season.
So many dominoes fell in the perfect way for Boston to not only decide to blow it up and add the 2 big pieces they did last off season in KP and Jrue, but also for the two Jays to find what they need to work on, and it lead to one of the best Celtics teams of all time, a ring, and 2 ECFMVP + FMVP for Jaylen Brown who was much maligned after his game 7 stinker last year.

Celtics had the easiest championship run of all time…
    First Round No Jimmy Butler
Second round 2 games without d Mitch
    ECF 2 games without Haliburton
Finals facing a hobbled Luka.. this ring is easier than the 2017 GSW

The stupid narrative of Marcus Smart being "the heart and soul" of this team is finally put to an end! He was actually the guy holding our team back with his ego. And finally, this let the Jays become who they are now... CHAMPIONS!

That 09 team was my favorite. People tend to forget that team started 27-2, an NBA record before the 16 Warriors 28-1. It’s so unfortunate injuries piled on.

I still wish the Celtics would of kept terry rozier instead of the Kyrie, kemba, and on experiment. Isiah Thomas bled green, man deserved better . Just think Tatum and brown could be on the 76ers but instead they took fultz and Simmons. Two all nba players vs two that aren't even in the league anymore?

The 76ers couild have a roster with Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum.
Never forget that the front office is equally as important as the team on the floor.

It's funny the Celtics won but they didn't play anyone good because the team's didn't have there star players. Last time I checked you can only play who's in front of you the Celtics did injure those players and its the playoffs so maybe they should've tried playing. But if they lost somewhere along the way they would've got shredded but the media. Bad enough even after they were winning people talked shit about them even though they did anyway.

15:24 The trade didn't ruin Thomas's career. The hip injury did. You didnt even mention he missed all but game 1 of the conference finals against Cleveland because of his hip injury and he was traded in that off season for Kyrie Irving.

It was an easy run but the Celtics made it look easy. Plus, didn’t the nuggets last year not play a single team that wasn’t seeded higher than 4. They played the 8th seed Heat in the finals, and nobody calls it an easy run. If the Celtics went 16-8 or 16-7 i would understand but they only lost at most 1 game in all four series.
