whats happened to metal hammer . cant seem to buy it anywhere in nr27 area which i am living. can anyone help to give advice. a desperate middle aged heavy rock fanatic.
Look say whatever you like about Slipknot and "nu-metal" but Iowa was hard. I really enjoyed the rawness of the self titled album, but Iowa is schizophrenia in the form of sound waves. I like the next 3 albums from them, but I have do admit that, to me at least, they peaked with Iowa. I understand why they wrote some of the "slower" songs starting with Subliminal, and I'm sure it broadened their fan base quite a bit, but they tapped into something special with their second album.
