@opossum9680 I would not say , it is really a French accent. She speaks very good English, it is just you can hear it is not the language she speaks on a daily basis
She's such a fascinating person. So down to earth. Not your typical celeb interview at all. She doesn't give the standard answers we've come to expect in these sort of interviews. And her voice is so calming. An interesting accent too. English, Surrey, but then some French accent creeps in when she's reaching for an English term or phrase.
Thank you for sharing this interview. I am French and Charlotte Gainsbourg, from a young age, has always been part of our lives in France. I like her work very much and hence I watched and listened to a lot of interviews she has given in French medias over the years. Yet, never ever I have seen her so relaxed and talkative as in this interview. Yet, she talks about very deep and personal topics in here (which I never heard her developed and being so open about in French). Probably, as pointed out in previous comments, and as she kind of explains herself in this interview, because of the dramas of her life that have been so public in France. Such a talented woman, great actress and her music is exquisite !
Great interview by all 3 of you ladies. Thanks a lot. I could listen to Charlotte all day long... never heard her saying something that didn't move me in a way or made me think deeper about myself, life and our world. What a lovely soul she is. I admire her a lot... so much talent, so much empathy and intelligence. Have a nice day and stay healthy. Merci et à bientôt !
Given the differences between French and American social/sexual culture, I can kind of understand Charlotte thinking the "Me Too / Time's Up" movements may have gone somewhat "overboard." But that's a far lesser evil than the status quo of powerful and influential sexual predators continuing to bully their victims into silence with the help of even more powerful and influential "enablers."
yes but the main issue is that the Metoo movement is attacking all facets of life. It should stay concentrated on attacking the powerful, not the guy who simply opens the door for a woman.
People tend to dislike liberals. This is why me too isn't very well liked by most. I think people would be more receptive if it was a conservative movement.
"believe all women" was hysterically dishonest and if that's not obvious you have zero awareness of fairness. At first I thought it was a good movement but as soon as I HEARD that phrase I realized it was just going to be used as a weapon. Imagine if it was "believe all New Zealand teenagers 5 feet tall." Isn't that absurd? Why would they all be telling the truth? Amber Heard showed the world how people play the system, whatever the system is that is created, people will profit off of it and it will corrupt itself. Starting off with a hysterical dishonest statement saying every woman is honest is insane and childish in logic. I can't believe how naive people are. Truth is completely abandoned. Our media is trying to divide. Trudeau calls everyone a sexist or a racist but he's guilty of groping and wearing blackface numerous times. He fired a woman judge because she refused to lie for him. Politically correct people play the system. Male feminists have been caught perpetuating crimes against women so much. P.C. people or anyone that virtue signals is guilty of something horrible it seems. Rose Macgowan had integrity and quit the movement when it became obvious it was a partisan weapon used only against certain people. everyman I know is against ra pe. Ra pe culture is a myth and lie.. unless hollywood is twisted. They seem so. Ezra Miller seems to be a nightmare of violent sick political correctness. I'm so sick of political correct fas cism.
@@gofish7388 it isn’t. It’s because after the initial push, opportunists used it and it got basically sponsored by powerful groups of stupid people. It did go way overboard to the point where innocents are now having their lives utterly destroyed by lies and the court of public opinion doesn’t do trials. Metoo was a movement that tried to protect women legally. It’s nothing like that now, just destruction. Whoever did something should be judged in accordance to the law. You're right. In another interview she confided that her mother, English actress/singer Jane Birkin, never spoke to her in English when she was a child, so she had to learn English as a secondary language and then she work for years with a dialect coach to sound more native.
Her son had to hear schoolmates saying his mother is an oreo because of nymphomaniac posters, sometimes parents should consider what they are doing and how it will affect their children
