I need a coffeeshop soundtrack album with Cooper just adding mood with buckets of great sounds from whichever guitar he is wielding. +1 on you B-bending that JV.
I am lucky .. in Kent uk we have a guy who imports Japanese Guitars from Japan. I have couple ..and yes they are about 10 to 20 years old but the quality is custom shop in fender and gibson styles. Truly they are amazing. I also have new FGN Goldtop P90,s. You get solid mahogany, bridge screwed into the body , bone nuts . and playability hard to match. The Japanese take more pride as its in their culture .
I really enjoy all of your reviews. You guys make a good team. However, Cooper is so amazing in the demos, he sends tingles down my spine and brings tears of joy to my eyes. I love his playing style. Once he starts playing, I forget which guitar he's playing and enjoy the free concert. He has a style like no one I have seen yet. Thanks to both of you . Much appreciated. Douglas Ransom
I bought a stratocaster from Japan back in 1986 and still have it .... great guitar....played it for 20 years.... I wore out the bridge from resting my hand on it .....it was a Kahler.....found a new one from a guy who had one in his shop in Canada for 20 years and had it replaced.....still plays and sounds great .....SSH configuration with a coil tap switch.....all black with black headstock and a rosewood neck....
Position 4 on the teles is the neck/bridge in series. Neck alone is position 3. My Tele's wired that way too, but I think I prefer them swapped. I understand why someone might like pos 4 to be the series neck/bridge setting since it's hotter and darker than the neck only. However, it makes quick changes to the neck pickup only kinda clumsy. HOWEVER, this is all just nitpicking because that Gold Tele wow ❤
Every time I watch one of these I think I’m just gonna skip around, then Cooper starts playing and I watch the whole performance. So many cool techniques and sounds, great playing!
The 50´s stratocaster reminds me of the 2013 FGN neo classic, except the hss configuration. Mine has the same tuners and spcs. Is the one I never will sell, it’s far better than an actual am. Pro or vintage original, which I own too. I hope the new line find its guitar enthusiasts out there.
I dont know the exact story but some Fender Tele's from the 50-60's had the flat edge for the output jack. I have a vintage 59-61 Tele router template with the same flat edge. No idea if that was all Tele's or not but I think the flat surface area varies and why its often not as noticeable. Same with the vintage Tele 'router hump' on top edge of the lower neck pocket. What's super nice about this JV series Gold Tele is its bound body and soft-v neck which if same as the Brad Paisley neck is an awesome neck shape. And it comes with a gigbag. Since its made in Japan the price is good. I'll be getting one. The demo sounded great.
I did get one of these Gold JV Tele's and its a beauty. The 4-way switch, push-pull, double white binding with the Gold color and white pickguard is killer, and vintage style locking tuners with a gig-bag at a minimum makes this an awesome guitar for the price. The action, bridge & saddle and fret work is spot on. The flat output jack side of the body is definitely more pronounced that all my other Tele's. This JV series is going to sell out quick, these are a steal and for sure custom quality. Mine weighs 7 lbs, 5 ounces which is heavier than my Brad Paisley Tele's but still in that comfy zone. The pickup pairing is also different than any of my other Tele's which are all different from each other so good to see it's also unique. Pickups: Switch 1. Bridge - 6.86k Switch 2. Neck/Bridge in Parallel - 3.61k Switch 3. Neck - 7.41k Switch 4. Neck/Bridge in Series - 13.86k
@@shaneroberts9466 I am considering about getting the 60s Tele, but no shops have it here at the moment. Is it noisy (hum/feedback-wise)? I will need it for playing high gain stuff (Hard rock and punk rock) ..Is the Bridge pick up able to handle distortion well like high output ones?
I have two E-series strats from '86 ànd '87-88. The 86 is lake placid blue no skunk stripe basswood with rosewood fingerboard. The other 87-88 is white no stripe and has maple fingerboard on a maple neck and is quite narrow neck and is a Hendrix style configuration. They are both nice
I remember seeing the Japanese fenders in store in the 80's and looking down on them as cheap Asian and therefore sub standard. Funny how life has a way of showing you how foolish you can be 😐
Ha! When I first saw these I was like cool. Then I heard it was JV modified and I thought it mean John V mortified. To each his own and I’m not a fan of his, I respect just not interested so I’ve been passing these up.
I have the 50’s Tele. The resonance is bizar!! I have a Fender Strat USA 2006. The built quality is so much better. The only thing I did was changing electronics and the pickups. This guitar is blowing you away!!

The flat edge jack is NOT just a Fender Japan thing. Telecasters from the 50s and 60s have it. It's just vintage correct (and cool looking).
got the 54' a few weeks ago, it feels so perfect for me. And it sounds so good through a mig 50.
One of the best demos you've ever done.
Dude makes clean sounds fun again.
I bought the white Strat and it’s fantastic. Mine’s 7 lbs and super resonate.
I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on the 60s Strat. I have yet to hear a bad sound out of it.
Are the fretboard edges rolled at all?

Thank you so much for the kind words-- I really appreciate it.

Doing homework on a JV Mod 50’s Strat! Thank youz!!
Just happened to be looking at strats and saw the sunburst and was immediately interested. I’m still deciding whether I should get it.
Always great videos awesome demonstration the perfect tone and perfect sound Arriba Arriba Alamo!!!!!

You….don’t say…. That’s a…. very… interesting story…..
The MiM Vintera series teles have that flat bit near the jack too. Vintage-correct feature.

Probably needs some getting used to. I have a Highway One with a 4-way switch.... took me a few months 😂
Played the 50s strat @ guitar center..just incredible..neck was so easy..pickups not really hot ..but damn it played beautifully
Great exclamation of parallel and series.

WOW Cooper! that is sick brot!! so inspiring!
They sound right to my ear
Good presentation and explanation of the different switching options. Lovely demo as well. Thanks, guys.

Oh wow that firemist gold Tele is sweet. I don’t need another Tele. I don’t need another Tele. I don’t need another Tele…
Did you get it yet? 🤤
@@kristhomas7481 no, but it’s still on the list
what do u currently have????
You absolutely don’t need a firemist gold, double bounded, self-locking and 1039£ tele😢
I don’t yet have a tele on lot a Strat so I think I must snag.
imo..the 52 hot rod tele was an amazing guitar..with the small firebird type neck pickup
i remember that!!
I've always liked the Japanese Fenders. Some of the nicest Fenders were from Japan.

Cooper that shirt looks swell. Very classy
Man these videos are super amazing and impressive! 😂
You can have the after market tele bridge with a B & G benders.... no hassle
Golden Apples sounded golden on the golden Tele.
I like the 50's articulation a little better. But need to listen another 50 times to be sure.
.... great playing from the guy with the long hair
I have no issues with reissues of reissues.
Fire mist gold so cool on the telecaster but wouldn't be caught dead driving a car that colour!
Love your vids ..I'd like to see a Taylor 414ce Rosewood vs Yamaha AC5R review/comparison. On a side note...Cooper can play!
does the JV strat have the old chunky bullet tele neck as well
Thought I heard some ZZ Top, I'm just a fool for your stockings I do believe. 🤣👍
Is there a difference in the pickups of the '50s and '60s Teles? Thanks.
Classic players strats and baja tele
Which do you like better, this or the vintage ii series?
The Toklas are my favorite JV, 80-82. I’ve learned a lot from Cliff and his amazing Flickr collection. Search him out ;)
Did you ever go to music school, Cooper? Would kill to play even half as good as you.
That strat is well played and sound goood. Can that humbucker be single splitted or what is it called
Are these demos original songs? They're amazing.
Thank you! I appreciate it :)

Does anybody know if the 60s Tele pick ups are low or medium output? I would like to get it to play heavy distorted hard rock & Punk rock with it
u can use all the gain u want
Hey guys, if you want to increase sales to the ladies, have Cooper unbutton two more on his shirt. Use it while you got it!
the best vid you did was the $40 acoustic from amazon...
top tip is incorrect!

No need to import these ice piks, fender out of ideas. 👎
