One Step Closer to our Dream Orchard on our Homestead!

Hello! We're Calla and Jon, living with our kiddos in Alentejo, Portugal, on a lovely piece of land in the countryside.
We are working on transforming a bare slope on our land into an orchard using permaculture swales. This week we finally finish digging out the swales and setting up the overflow spillways. Next we'll need some rain to see if they work the way we are hoping and/or need more adjustments before we plant fruit trees!
This week we also finished putting up a fence around the front of the house and started stacking our delivery of firewood, just in time for the first frost! The animals sprinkle this video with sweetness and joy & don't forget to watch until the end for a look at what it's like putting our flock to bed at nighttime (thankfully they only act like that when Calla puts them to bed).
