I have a 2021 Giant Fathom and I’m having to replace the headset after a year and a half and around 1000mi riding. The factory plastic bits finally gave up, much like yours. I’m replacing with a Cane Creek 40 series, but after seeing this I wish I’d have bought a Wolf Tooth. 😂😂 That thing looks SLICK!
That’s an awesome bike you have there. The cane creek stuff is pretty good stuff as well and I was on the fence between the two company’s. My selling point was the color and bearing warranty. Their stainless steel bearings have a lifetime warranty.
@@ridedirtymtb9938 Thanks! The Cane Creek went in easy and works great. I’ll probably have to replace the one in my Trance as well at some point, so I’ll probably look to the wolf tooth. I like lifetime warranties!
You gonna be really happy with your cane creek 40. I love how easy mine is to clean up. You can always get spacers and top cap from wolf tooth if you like the color
Hi Patrick. Sorry for the way over due response. For some reason I didn’t get the notification, either way the sizing for the sentier is ZS44/28.6 - ZS56/40 and I went with the 6mm stack. Wolf tooth number -SKU: ZS44U-5MM-BLK(blk indicating the color which will change with other colors) hopefully this helps if someone has the similar question. I also ordered the headset spacer kit.
Thats a great question, so in the long term it resolved the constant play and somewhat notchy feeling bearings resulting in a very smooth feeling headset. The creaking turned out to be the the fork steer tube itself unfortunately. I did happen to find a video on some one who used locktite by putting the bike upside down and putting the locktite in there and making the fork creak by pushing forward and back on the fork and letting it sit over night. I’ll share the video if I find it for you
@@ridedirtymtb9938 thank you for the follow up. If you could share that video that would be greatly appreciated. I’m about to replace my headset also, it has some plastic bits in it and I hope the higher quality of Wolftooth resolved it. Thank you again.
Go one on at a time when pressing in those cups. That's why that bottom one went in a bit crooked.

Strange, I’m looking at this very same headset for my Vitus Sentier VR 29.
It is a great upgrade. Wolf tooth products are quality made and you can tell when you see them in person
I just put one on my Polygon T8, it's a great upgrade for sure. I did mine in purple also.....
Who is the manufacturer of this headset? Have you tried greasing your mike to help with the creaking? ;-)
The original headset is a ACROS AZX-212-CO. The lower cup was plastic and had cracked so greasing it would not have helped.
@@ridedirtymtb9938 Sorry, I was just joking because of the amount of branding on Wolf Tooth's headset ;-)
@@adrianbeacon6421 lol they want people to know who makes it I guess
Good video. All you need now are the OneUp purple aluminum pedals and ODI Rogue purple lock on grips.
Agreed! I did look at the ODI grips but ended up with pnw grips. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Check out the bike in my insta @ride_dirty_mtb
I added some purple one up composites
I know! Have you seen the pnw pedals? They look good too.
@@ridedirtymtb9938 Yes, their purple is called Fruit Snacks color. Lol
Fix your mic man, audio isn’t working well
What MM spacer did you go for that comes with the headset? , looks 5mm👍
Correct, thanks for checking out my videos!
Hi . Could I ask what stack you went for on headset 6/ 15/25 ? Not sure which one I need for my sentier vrx 2022

Did replacing the headset resolve the creaking issue?

Either its my in-ears or your mic is crackling as hell.. At least at the first part of the vid🤟🏻
😂 not to sure I’ve heard the crackling but thanks for checking it out🤟
It’s the mic for sure!
Good video though!
