Jiji is not only Momo's childhood friend/crush, he is also the polar opposite to our Ken. He's loud, extremely extraverted, athletic, tall and handsome. Pretty much all the characteristics Okarun would wish to have, but is lacking, or at least self conscious of. If the walking inversion of all my insecurities busted on to the scene to talk to my crush, I would also want to slink away into the background, never to be seen or heard from again.
Okarun drawing Momo with shading and everything and Jiji in the most barebone half-assed way is the amount of petty I can get behind.
Jiji is so goofy and likeable it's EVIL for such a character to be introduced so late in the show

This is my favorite arc from the whole manga
For me this "ghost" story was more depressing, however an argument can be made for Acro-Silky, this "ghost" and another spirit of a little boy that also appears in the manga. Each one of them made me cry at different levels lol.

Not only is Jiji handsome and her childhood crush, he is also living with her. Okarun must think that something could develop there even if it is not there now. Plus, Okarun has crippling self-confidence issues, being bullied and talked down to all his life. Poor guy.
