Couple of things I have wondered about Hindi phonology: 1) are the retroflex flap R/Rh word-medial allophones of retroflex D/Dh? For example, would "लड़कि" originally have been pronounced as "लडकि"? 2) when a Hindi word which ends in a nasal chandrabindu, is followed by a word which starts with a vowel, would the nasalized vowel become a voiced 'n' sound ? For example, take the sentence "लड़कियाँ आती हैं", would the pronunciation change to "लड़कियान आती हैं"?
