Don't know if you've already heard to the new songs but I think they are the answer to why 🌈 feels so short on some parts, it's cuz every section is ONE WHOLE SONG and I hope we can get the whole part of that heavy drums in the beginning in some future project Like you can hear a distorted version of Man in the Moon on minute 2:32 of 🌈
I feel like the piano part on Moon Music encourages the listener to create their own 1st verse. The sonic landscapes on this album transport you to another world...a rarity in music nowadays. I encourage everyone to see this album as one piece that needs to be listened to from beginning to end.
I honestly felt that the ending of the album, the very end was really profound in such a simple childlike way. Just singing a cute 6/4 felt so intimate for the biggest band in the world. "in the end it's just love". for me as a Christian, the bible actually says that love will always remain. the last song is just so profound me personally. in the end, all our souls truly desire is to sing with one another in love and harmony. To be restored in love.
After three or four listens I feel like I have felt on a few Coldplay albums. It's a grower. It's not an immediate hit. I did listen to one or two songs with headphones and felt it enhanced the experience. They certainly can't be blamed for putting our similar albums. It seems to change up with every one but I get the link to Music of the spheres.
I think we’ve been very fortunate having hit after hit with albums like viva, mylo, and AHFOD that the ones that take time to appreciate don’t feel as impressive on the first few listens. So yeah I totally agree that it’s a grower
Absolutely agree with everything on here, we basically had the same opinion hahaha. Some notes here is that the chanting from AETERNA is actually a hidden track called feelslikeimfallinginlove pt2. And the ending of ONE WORLD was actually played in Big Weekend back in May
Coldplay represents plurality, energy, color, freedom, purity in lyrics and melodies. This album reflects everything I mentioned. Simple melodies, sweet lyrics and good energy. My suggestion: they could have included more tracks on the album (about 14 sung songs, for example) and perhaps some of these songs with arrangements and lyrics more focused on Slow Rock (as they did in the early days), with guitar solos and sounds from all the instruments the band members (Example: they did this in the song "Coloratura" on the previous album and the result was excellent). I realize that many Coldplay fans are clamoring for this and are upset and others are even outraged! But the band remains among the best and continues to be very successful due to its essential plurality.
I completely agree with you regarding 🌈. I had those exact feelings upon first listen, especially second listen. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Full Moon edition! 😉
I like this album way more than Mots. I think that bit right at the end could have been left out it just spoils it for me. I’d love to have heard them attach the race to this album the version on the end credits to AHFOD documentary but maybe it’ll show up at some point in the near future. The rainbow track is ok but again could have been left out for me. I utterly love the string arrangements on the title track with John Hopkins especially when it came on at Glastonbury. I’ll be interested to see what direction they take next. Looking forward to Hull next year
I thought Higher Power was a lot better than feelinginlove. All My Love & One World are great tracks, so is the first track, Rainbows is interesting. The other tracks are ok, not a big fan of We Pray, and I do like rap/hip, just sounds a bit generic. Coldplay are definitely in touch with the kids these days, and that housey track 8, forget the name, it's pretty cool. I think I prefer Music of the Spheres, but it's close. I think you're right about this album being Everyday Life and MOTS.
Sad to say I liked Music of Spheres CD better, it offered me three songs I liked.. this only had two. "Moon Music" could've been longer but it stood out, liked the concept and "Aeterna" is going on my workout playlist. I also thought I read somewhere Will was going to do vocals so I was disappointed that never came to be... maybe in the future.
I absolutely love the album, my favourites are iAAM, Aeterna, Jupiter and All My Love, the problems with this album are minor to me, iAAM is too short, very much Viva vibes (Death and All His Friends and a bit of Lovers of Japan) and One World didn't end with A Wave as the hidden track, that would have been amazing, it would have definitely been in my top 5 if it had A Wave. Also I absolutely loved All My Love voice memo demo in the notebook, I wished they added it to the normal version like at the start.
Not so bothered about the hidden sample bits on the notebook but not many musicians do that. I wasn’t bothered about man on the man with the cheesey whistling but a wave is beautiful

Chris has a problem with songs being too long, I needed another verse from him in We Pray, Burna came in too early, and yes, 🌈 could have gone on forever.
I love WE PRAY, I think it has a beautiful meaning and love the instrumental and Chris’s parts, not a fan of the features but the meaning carries this song for me….but I think it’s my least fav on the album

You know I agree with you. I also hated the pray track on youtube but in the context of the album.
Such a thoughtful take. I like it 💜

Love this!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💜💙
I love the album. 7/10
Just one thing they did't include the song "2 Aliens" with SZA . I think that song have a place in the album.
I think I’d rate it pretty similarly. And the SZA would definitely catch my attention! Thanks for your comment ☺️

Been waiting for this for an entire week😂
Would love your thoughts on the rest of the album Full Moon. I love Man in the Moon ❤
I’m excited to talk about it 💜

Another great video, was waiting for your review once the album dropped! Curious what your thoughts are on the Full Moon edition and all 7 songs in 🌈

It's a better album than Music of the Spheres.
Better than music of the spheres, yet worse than everything else they’ve produced.
I agree. It’s closer to what I wanted from MOTS than it was able to give. Thanks for your comment!
