Had fun making this one and using a putting aid I made.
Thanx for all your great instruction! I've often wondered why you putt with your elbows flared out rather than having them close in by your ribcage. Could you please comment on that?
Because I want a little bend in my elbows and not talked tightly against my rib cage, because I want to be able to simply control the stroke with my shoulders. I feel like if I took my arms and elbows against my rib cage I will be twisting my body during the stroke.
Great vid
Hi that jig you made is excellent! Is it a steel ruler or simply a piece of flat aluminum or steel ? I can’t tell from the video. Is there a hole where you place the ball ? THANKS ! (PS I had 41 putts yesterday with 6 3-putts in a row all caused by bad speed). My partner says I’ve been changing my tempo on different length putts
It’s just a flat piece of aluminum and I used fingernail polish to put a dot on it instead of a hole
Tx for the video. I have the utmost respect for anyone who shares their insights. Just to be pedantic, a pendulum still travels in an arc. I’ve been using a standard steel ruler exactly as you describe here and with the same results. I can hole 10 of a 10 puts from 8 ft but when I take it onto the course without being able to use the ruler, I miss 3 out of 10 which is average - still good but average. Keep them coming. Tx again
It is like putting down a yard stick for practice.
Depends where you position the ball in your stance.........If you move it forward and align it then you've taken a lot of the arc out of the equation!
Certainly agree that ball position is part of the equation, but also depends how far forward until the stroke starts arcing again
John Holmes would have been a good putter, just saying.
