There is nothing quite like the feeling of the first rays of sunlight warming your face on a crisp morning while wrapped up in a sleeping bag. This film does an excellent job of portraying it. Absolutely brilliant work, as always! I'm happy to see you were able to get out for an overnighter again.
Thank you for a great video, it brings back so many memory's of a much simpler times in my life back in the 5o's and 60's you had the back country to yourself only draw back the heavy equipment!
Hi Erik. I’m just checking in and seeing how you are doing. I hope you are feeling well. I haven’t seen you in a while. Take care and we’ll chat soon. NQU
Hi Erik, I watched you video again, today. Amazing scenery and experience to sleep under open sky on the end of winter. I live in Toronto, Canada and am familiar with cold and quiet winter nights up north - except for some birds that spend winter here. I love seeing you making your cup of coffee and giving it a thumb up! We have not see you post a new video for a while, I hope that you are doing ok, and I wish you all the best.
The quintessential Erik Normark film - spectacularly good as always. The bay hasn't iced out yet, I wonder if that's typical for the date. Anyway, thanks for another gem, Erik. Cheers.
There's not enough superlatives to describe what we feel from interacting through Erik's vlogs. A beautiful warm feeling of contentment makes my day when each vlog drops. A true professional at large. Thanks for sharing Erik. Bushyboy Oz.
Very beautiful vídeo!!🙏🌅💐 Congratulations!!🎉🎉 I like the sunlight in the trees, the sound of the wind... of the Nature is terapêutico!!🌅🌅🌲🌲🎉🎉 Best wishes!! 🎉🎉💐🤗
Couldn't be more peaceful. Just loved that coffee on the bench sequence. I miss the subtitles for the birdsongs - always nice to see the Swedish names.
amazing you're able to sleep out like that. I'd wonder about the inflatable getting a puncture sitting right on top of the rock. I'd probably go with two pads, one between the rock and the inflatable, and one between the inflatable and the sleeping bag. Beautiful video.
Happy to see how much your channel has grown over the years, Erik. Your videos were one of the motivators to invest in the means necessary for experiencing this part of the world, which I'm looking forward to do come late summer.
i am always surprised by your braveness to put the z-lite on top of the inflateable. i know it's warmer but on a stone you must have real trust in the etherlight ;)
I love watching you fill your kettle with scoop after scoop after scoop of coffee. The caffeine would likely put me into convulsions. Keep up the good work 👍
Absolutely magnificient, Erik! Glad that you had chance for an overnighter. Not many are practicing open skies treats 😊. You have great inner and external recources for all of this! Greetings from Finland, Janne
My weekend, early morning ritual: sharing a cup of fresh hot coffee with Erik while I watch one of his gloriously beautiful and serene videos. Thank you, Erik.
Excellent and just beautiful. This video is relaxation and morning meditation at the same time. Image editing and sound are brilliant. Thank you for your exploration..
Erik, you did it again. Haven't watched for a while then I come back and you hit me with another beautiful video! A miniature work of art... And I'm always amazed at how small that big sleeping bag packs up...
What a great outing. Nice to see you sleeping out under the stars again. Scares me to see that inflatable, directly on the jagged rock. I guess that is a testament to the durability of it!
Nothern Sweden is fantastic but i must admit i really do enjoy the much warmer climate here in Denmark right now. The t-shirt has been out a couple of times here already. Thank you for another video though. May the +15 degrees hit you soon :-)
Wow... you are truly blessed with your surroundings. To get to a view about that beautiful I'd have to make quite a long train/car drive and a long mountain hike. That bag for inflating the mat is cool. I always inflate mine with my mouth, but maybe I should get such a bag as well. Looks handy and after a long days hike inflating the mat with my mouth always makes me feel a bit dizzy. 🙂 Thank's for sharing!
As always, Class AAA content. Greetings from Central California. Mr. Erik, you never disappoint!! Serene captures, and the~never~fail "Coffee-time Thumbs Up"!!! Seeing you set up/take down your "sleep-over" site, and making the famous cup of coffee, is enough for this subscriber! You are a very Special Human Being!! BTW: Better late than never ... Until next time ... Take Great Care of Yourself!!
Thats a serious sleeping bag !!! Is it below zero rated ??? I am not sure, but it sort of looks like a ' western mountaineering ' style or design. But bags look similar till you handle them, looking misc aspects of it !! I personally love their bags even though they are a bit heavier than some on the market. But what quality 😊 ATB NORMAN. PS... HOW IS YOUR HEALTH ISSUE DOING ? A heartthrob wasn't it ??? Hope to get a new vid from you again 😊 peace !!
Spremljam vas že vrsto let. Želim vam veliko zdravja in obilo užitvov v sožitju z naravo. Bil sem v Laponski leta 1918. Vračam se, če bo zdravje in mir, v letu 2023. 😊Stojan
Hope you got the ablation and are doing well. I think it's a small miracle that you can keep that closed cell pad from sliding off the air mattress! I'm usually not so lucky. Another superb video!
Spring in Sweden looks a lot like spring in the Rockies. A day or two of brilliant sunshine with crunchy early snow, later turned by the sun to slush! Thanks for this inspiration Erik as I’ve been lazy in awaiting the perfect day to do a spring overnighter but now thanks to you, I’m on it!😊BTW, I appreciate your taste in sleeping bags! I have two of them, pretty’s sure the same two.😊. Looking forward to your next production!
It's like an instructional video for sleeping out doors after a hike. Nobody ever seems to film this bit but it's the hardest part to get right for some.
The peace and serenity of that magical place, the crisp blue sky and the quiet of a simple trangia stove transforming frozen water into a perfect cup o joe. Erik, I’m always impressed with the fact that you make your coffee out of hard crusty snow with nothing more than a trangia tea kettle and a trangia triangle. Quick question-- is it possible to melt snow so readily in that kettle with an alcohol stove because it has such a wide base that it captures the majority of the flame and heat from the alcohol stove? I would like to get away from using white gas fuel stoves in the winter but don’t want to put myself in jeopardy. Thank you Erik! So much. Take care. NQU
I really like your videos. Very often they are the last ones before I go to bed ;-) Perfekt to get calm. And I am also interested in your gear. Do you have a new windjacket? Which one is it?
I always have wondered when you sleep on a rock like you did in this video that you do not slip off during the night. Obviously not, but I think if it was me I would be some way down the slope! Great video and good to see you out overnight again. I hope you health is improving.
'Mere' is a word that diminishes the importance of something. For example, someone who is wounded and bleeding might say: "It's a mere scratch." For a title I would suggest 'A night beneath the open sky.'
Erik, what an extraordinary land you live in. You have made the most of every moment… just wondering if you talked in your sleep..just kidding (-;. Good on you.
Clearly the sleeping pad is ok when you do this, but it doesn't prevent a sense of anguish that you have nothing underneath it. At least one of those 3mm foam pads that some people have. The Puma sleeping bag is on my bucket list, currently using the Rab 1100 and a Sea to Summint liner.

Thanks Michael!
@@erik_normark are your socks Dachstein boiled wool socks? If so, I have the exact ones haha, very warm but very thick
Morning coffee... a Holy moment... 👍🏻
Depression was kicking my ass. Your videos have helped me get by and I am truly thankful for your content.
Thank you for making such amazing work.
What a tranquil sound track. The wind through the pines is hypnotic!! Thanks for this.

Always nice to sleep out like this. By the evening you may wonder where the sun went, but then it dawns on you.
Got it, i love puns...

Beautiful place, beautiful weather, and thank god for the oil and chemical industries for all the plastic that went into your gear.🙂
That ship you saw in the beginning of the vid was carrying Erik's coffee straight from Colombia.
What beautiful scenery to wake up to Erik. Truly a magical trip. Hope this mean your health issues are on their way out.
Take care

The Sea to Summit pads are awesome gear. Though I may have put the pad beneath so it doesn’t puncture. Great filming.
Excellent and just beautiful.

Yep, every time I crawl into my Western Mountaineering bag I appreciate the zipper design. The zippers never jam, or get stuck in the baffle.

How simple, yet how riveting. Another beautiful film by Erik.
Exceptionally warm bag, but the damn zipper keeps snagging.
Another classic. Wonderful. Thanks Erik.
Great overnighter, its always a special treat to be able to have time and quiet. Having my coffee here with you.

Closed cell foam on top of air?
I thought other way around with air on top for puncture protection if not insulation difference
